Let the excitement begin, I mean, those sounds are from in-game? Wow, just wow, sounds absolutely unreal! No, I mean, sounds absolutely real! Certainly some intrigue regarding cars. Deinfatley saw R8 GT3, Z4 GT3, possibly the MP4-12C, some kind of Mercedes/Brabus, pretty sure I spied a Mustang and a Corvette GT2 C6.R. Also at the start, possibly a BMW 2002 turbo? So some hints at perhaps FIA GT3 series being part of the game?
Tracks looked like a blend of old and new, some nice looking tree lined roads perhaps hinting at some classic racing? Perhaps a "legacy" career mode spanning through the decades of GT Racing?

Cant wait for more news!

" Today SimBin Studios revealed the first parts of GTR3 through a teaser on a new website. The teaser was released by SimBin's CEO, Henrik Roos, through his personal Facebook page. From there it has spread like wildfire and in addition to that it raised a lot of questions from the fans, communities, and gaming magazines.

In an effort to answer some of your questions, we had a little chat with Henrik Roos (CEO at SimBin Studios) and Chris Speed (SimBin's Executive Producer).

RR: So, Henrik, this morning you pressed the first "Facebook Like" button on GTR3.com and officially started what looks like a PR campaign around this big project. What can we see on GTR3.com and why did you want to share it now?

Henrik: We have worked on GTR 3 for a long time. We have had several smaller projects in between though, but now GTR 3 starts to shape up. We have a lot of requests every day from our GTR fans, so why not start sharing some info?

Chris: What you can or can’t see can be debated, but we feel that we have made huge strides in different areas building on what was already a strong IP in GTR.

RR: Who is working on this project? It seems like SimBin has been recruiting a lot of people lately, what is the new team like?

Henrik: A lot has happened in SimBin over the last one and a half years. We opened a brand new headquarters in Lidköping and yes, we have reinforced the team with talents from all over the world. People like Chris Speed for example, he can tell you more about our crew.

Chris: As Henrik mentioned, we have gone through an aggressive recruitment drive over the past 8 months picking from an enormous talent pool from all over the world, Ukraine, Russia, Pakistan, Germany, UK, Belgium, the list goes on. We are still a relatively small team compared to other studios and rely on our external partners as many small studios do. However, we now feel we have found the right blend between youth and experience to drive us forward and continue to develop successful racing titles.

RR: This website focuses a lot on sounds, why is that?

Henrik: Well, back in the days when GTR 1 was in development, the first material that was leaked was a sound sample, so it is a nice way to remember and make the connection with where SimBin is originally coming from... and what it is going towards ! It is definitely great to see how much we improved on this aspect, and the sound engine and samples quality are definitely amongst the many things that will make GTR 3 stand out!

Chris: We have definitely raised the bar when it comes to the sounds in GTR3. Yes the look and feel are extremely important but we have highlighted that the sounds give the player a much more immersive experience.

RR: Are all sounds in the teaser based on in-game material?

Henrik: Yes of course! Can you guess what car it is? Or even better, what track is it?

RR: The SimBin.com website is currently down with a message about Christmas cleaning, what is that all about?

Henrik: You will see the 15th of December. We will gradually increase the information flow and I can promise we have so much to tell and show! Also, we will show visuals when the time is right.

RR: What platforms are you preparing to release GTR3 on? If you can't yet provide any details, can you at least give us a clue about when we will find out?

Henrik: No, sorry I don’t have the date or more information about that yet.

RR: Is there anything you can disclose about GTR 3 yet? Anything at all?

Henrik: Yes, more info will come on the 15th of December at www.simbin.com and people can in the meantime discuss it on www.raceroom.net

Chris: I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed! "

Big question is, which series will it be based on?
FIA GT?
FIA GT1/3/4?
Intercontinental Le Mans Cup?
World Endurance Championship?
Blancpain Endurance series?
or even national series like Swedish GT?

I reckon its gonna be more than one, I think perhaps all of the FIA GT1/3 and 4, WEC and Blancpain Endurance. I do think they might put some regional ones in as all the cars will be there to use so British GT and maybe even ALMS?

Its about time, I've been waiting for news on this for what seems like years, I think I just had a little incident while listening to that website.

this is going to be an amazing game, I still play the first gtr and enjoy it very much.

Really excited about this, hopefully I will have some cash so I can build a PC by the it comes out.

Been waiting for this for years! So excited!

Has anyone been able to figure out what track is in the background on the close-up of the car in the 4th photo I think? You can see some grandstands with what looks like giant leafs on top. I know I've seen them before but I can't remember what track it is and google isn't much help as of yet.

The first screenshot is out!

Looking good! Ferrari P4/5 Competizione. I think that ran at the Nurb 24hr, possible clue?

Too many good games coming out, my bank account is crying. I really can't wait for this and Rfactor 2. I think iRacing is worth the money, and i've spent a lot of money on it, but I can't see myself holding a subscription with all these other top grade sim titles coming out.

I am looking forward to better implementation of wheel settings in these new PC sim games coming out especially for rFactor. It has been a long time for the refreshment to happen and it seems to be happening all in the same year so will be good fun to try all these new sims out 👍.

iracing is subscription based and not worth it. GTR3 I think will be good and rfactor2 will also have some content this time.

Have you played iracing much? If you like real racing competition, then nothing else comes close to it. Its easily worth the monthly subscription. There's no reason to even buy any other racing games, so with the money you save there, it pays for itself. On all honesty I think the monthly subscription is what keeps iracing great. That small fee keeps the idiots out that console racers, and other pc sims have in them. 90% of the races on iracing are tight, races where the other drivers respect you and the line your running. On any other online racing game it's more like 5/10% quality races. The pay to play racing keeps the real racers in and the need for speed racers out.

Ok dudes this is the GTR3 thread. We are glad you enjoy iRacing but some of us DO HAVE REASONS to buy GTR3 and even rFactor 2. Simply get over it. It's not like you can decide for others. You prefer iRacing? Feel free, I've nothing wrong with that but let's not just derail this topic in another stupid "iRacing vs. the World" thread.

Personal opinion of course, this.

I'm sure these will pick up in areas they were lacking 👍

You can get that in any racing game. Many do their own championship with their friends and run leagues. Moreover iracing is basically for online purpose only.

GTR3 will have good SP modes as well. Which is very important.

Should be a good blend for SP, judging by the shots and sounds we could be getting classics. I would be pretty happy with simalair AI to GTR2 as well, easily moddable and always a challenge. Sometimes more fun than racing humans anyway.

I was replying to him saying iracing isn't worth it. Im not saying gtr3 wont be great. I'll be buying it too, but for a few bucks a month, and the quality of racing that iracing has, it makes it worth it to at least try. I'm sure gtr3 and rfactor2 are going to be great games, but nothing can compete with the organization that iracing has online. With that said though, I hope gtr3 take force feedback and physics to the nect level.

It truly is a great time to be a sim racer.

League racing dude, did you see the minimum specs for rFactor 2's online? You need quite a connection. It probably means an increased quality in the online experience. At this point I can't see GTR3 having a weak online either. And if you don't run leagues you can always find good races at their own site. http://www.raceroom.net/ I'm not saying they are better than XY title but you are taking too many assumptions. Time will tell. For now let's just wait and see.

Oh and in the meanwhile for the people interested you can download (FOR FREE) Race Room The Game 2 and try their most recent Force Feedback Technology, which is the last step of their GTR Evo/Race 07/Race Pro series of titles.

Now now, co-op online endurance races with actual getting out and in of the car animations would be awesome, not just some pre-planned cutscene though, an actual WASD sprint from the cockpit to your lounge chair in the pits. Also being able to walk up to a engineer and his laptop to look at telemetry too.

Also, 100+ fields @VLN. Yeah, 250+ players (dreaming).
