It would ruin the symmetry of the drivers list (yet to be posted :)) but its ultimately your choice. That's if you make the qualifier cut-off in the first place.

Thank you. I will give it a go.
And one more thing, I use a DS3 and a wheel?
What should I check?

I'm holding off my sign-up because I don't know which class to go in. I said I was going to go in GT500 but there's not that many so far for the PAL conference. If a few others go with GT500 I'll join them.

I went GT500 @ PAL time, holding my breath atm that others join me.

As far as I know, switching is open until we run the qualifier at least.

This is what we'll do.

Class choice won't be final until December 9 (assuming the News/Blog Post is already out). This should give enough time to decide.

PM me if you decide to change your class.

Why don't the stewards split evenly between the gt300's and gt500's. It could be organised fairly easily.

Sounds good.👍

I could still be talked into the GT500 class. I just figured after driving GT500 in WSGTC 2, and PURE, I would take a break and try something new.

I could just try a car other than the NSX. I guees I could reason that would be something new.

This looks awesome, thanks for the invite Masi.

I would love to join you guys but i'm a huge MMA fan, and the UFC main event fights are at the same time of the NTSC races. I would have to miss like half of the races.

Good luck to everyone! Will keep an eye on the thread for sure.

Can't believe I'm saying this but the more competition the better.. even if they are Class 1 aliens. The more fast, clean drivers I am pitted against, the more motivation I get to put in some decent practice and get good times out of my car (First PURE race was a good example, 5th on the grid out of 27 fast drivers.. :scared:). Not going to be like all those cowards who moved to GT300 just because Adam merely hinted that he would move to GT500 :sly:

I just prefer 500's because 300's bore me.
Was driving MR-S 300 car around Laguna, it's just full-throttle out of everywhere, even the corkscrew.:yuck:
Not meaning to demean GT300's, but that's why I prefer 500's, throttle control, and more brake-work too. :)

You should know, many people made plans to switch to 300's before Aderrrm mentioned switching out.
Maybe your comment was in jest (I assume) but something to note.

I'll go in any class any car and I'll try my best, I just wanna race :). Just need to put the practice in for this qualifier, I am a bit nervous :nervous: with all the big names :scared: in this series lol. Gona need to do well in the qualifier just to race.......

It's true though so it's fair enough, hah :sly: - I use proper old-school X and Square on a DS3 for throttle and brake (used to it, hate using triggers, feels very unnatural), so my throttle control is pretty much zero (throttle on, throttle off, pretty much) - I can only really be 'quick' in a car around 300bhp or less due to that, so GT500 is out of the question until I get a wheel and pedals or something.

For those who are "wanting to sign up to GT500 but not sure of how many others will sign up" - I count 3 of you waiting on this page alone, so if you signed up for GT500, that's another 3 added to the list :P - If you guys sign up to it, it should tempt more to GT500 once they see people are signed up.

Yeah, was thinking it was a bit too strong, but it's all very much in good humour, of course anyone is free to join whichever class they want, by the looks of things GT300 will be a lot more challenging this season anyway.

EDIT: Miscalculation in Season 1! Fixed!

I signed up for GT500@Pal yesterday.👍
We've been given time to change or choices, so hopefully everyone follows suit and signs up for what they want first, to see what hand of cards we've been dealt.

Your DS3 issue will hopefully be solved with a wheel one day, though I'm sure you've heard the GT500 champion of last season used a DS3 for it.;)
But seriously, I do look forward to racing with you, maybe we'll both make the Laguna shootout in FMSC.👍

You race karts in real life, why not buy a wheel for the game? :D I've always wondered.

Just signed up. Thread is looking great Masi. 👍

Got 1 of my last pieces of coursework out the way yesterday, just 1 to go next week. I should have some spare time up until Christmas (as then I'll have January exams to revise for) so if you need any further help with the gt300 car testing I'd be up for it. I realise that you and Remy have probably done some/most if not all of it by now, but I didn't want to commit before because I didn't know about my work load for Uni.

👍

But i would imagine it would be more fun for you seeing as you race in real life and all :P I wonder how much faster you'll be with a proper wheel... but yeah, racing is very expensive (IRL).

Yes especially when you said your teammates were crap mole and you wanted to find a better team.

Still trying to figure it out.

GT300 plusses:
-A new style of car to learn
-Get to compete with many of the WSGTC guys I didn't get to last season
-Give me perspective of what its like to have the GT500 cars fly by

GT500 plusses:
-Familiar with the class of cars
-Balance the field of returning drivers
-Get to race against CSL and Biffy :)

As far as the comments about the GT500 class requiring more skill. I don't buy into that at all. No matter what car you are in, you need to figure out how to run them faster than your opponents. And the opponents here, in both the classes are strong. Remember who won last season.. he came from the GT300 class.(Adam)

I can't drive a car for crap with a pad. I don't know how you guys do it. Mole and Remy were toward the top every week they competed. With Remy winning the GT500 class! Unreal stuff.

Eric.. from typing my plusses above, I am realizing I will be very happy racing in either division. If you want to move me to the GT500 class to better even out the field, I am good with that. If you want me to stay in the GT300 class, I am good with that too. I am in a no-lose situation, as long as I get to compete in the WSGTC!

@ Andy - By the way, you can probably grab a DFGT for a little less than $60-$80 on eBay :)

@ Rees - just PM me if you want to make your switch official. Deadline to select your class is December 9.

Don't tempt me. Do not... :sly: - I'd want to do it properly if I got a wheel though, would have to be a frame and seat because office chair + desk simply doesn't cut it for me personally. And then the cost is a bit too much to be able to justify (nevermind the lack of space issue >_>).

Makes me wonder sometimes why people spend big amounts of money on a wheel, frame, maybe multiple screens, all of that business, when you could be out on the track irl for that amount of money. Each to their own I guess. Personally would love to see Adam and others on the track irl, have usually found that those who are good on GT are great irl.

Win this Championship and you get your rig :sly: If you still don't buy one after that, send the rig to me - ill even pay for shipping! :D
