Hi again, I have seen the sketches that you have been working on and it seems to me that it looks like something that I would be interested in.
Furthermore I really liked the shifter position with the added "armrest" in the second edition, but I, and this is just my opinion would hesitate to have a rig set up in such a manner that I have to cross over a bar to get seated, its not only for "comfort" issues, but as they say most accidents happen in the home.
So I wonder if it would be possible to have the right side of the cockpit as in your second sketch, while the left side (side of entry) is like the first prototype you have built, though with two bars attached as "ordinary legs" to the frame of the seat.
Anyway my question matters little, as it depends on your wish to combine or costumize a cockpit if there would be any wishes to do so.
So what that kit would include then?Too much! But little enough to see the possibility to be able to ship the DIY kit at some point for hopefully a reasonable price.Trying different things and redoing stuff is always going to be a little costly anyway.
Thanks, but please save the final judgement to the point I can show you vids & pics about the final build. And I must remind you also that the seat and the aluminium bars will not be included. But this will save shipping costs a lot, and you will get just the seat that you want, and feel like you actually made some of it. It just gives it a little more feeling imo..
But otherwise I'm really confident that this can compete with the best out these (usability & feature wise)
edit,
Just to make clear, this is the plan at this point:
- I'll ship the plywoods, laser cut metals, plastic end caps and the bolts & nuts
- I'll include complete instructions with tips for variations
- The first ten pcs will be priced specifically, not necessarily indicating the final price. Take into consideration that the shipping to longer distances might end up costly. PM me about these things if you have any questions.
