Three down, two to go.

Looks like the Mercury Mini van, which is definatly rare. I think I've see 2 of them on the road.

The Monterey is all over the damn place..

Just keep your eyes open.

I'm so sick of this. I'll see a car like the Murcielago (or the Monterey) on the street, I'll tell people about it, and they'll shoot back with crap about all the cars (usually unbelievably rare) that they "see" all the time.

They know it isn't true, I know it isn't true, but still they tell me (unlike me, they have no picture, of course).

Mercury unloads about 850 Montereys - nationwide - every month. They're not all over the place, you never see them, and stop acting like you do. You might see Monterey's more popular twin, the Ford Freestar, sometimes, but you aren't seeing Montereys.

Hell I live in Michigan...the American Car Capital of the world and I don't even see them

Indeed. And earlier you attested to not seeing Montegos - I've seen four.

Mercurys are just damn rare these days (though I see the Mariner around - which is fortunate, since it's so good-looking).

Wow, I don't think I've *EVER* seen a Monterey, Montego, or Monterey. (Not that that'd stick out when I see them on the raod, but I can't recall seeing one). Infact, I don't see many Mercurys at all other than the Grand Marquis. Mercury must have slow sales down here, or something.

-- I saw my second ever RR Sport today. Man, it's hard to pick that car out from a standard RRover, especially when it's black.

Ya well honestly would you want to buy a psudeo luxery brand? Mercury is right up their with Oldsmobile and Buick...plus they are about as hip as that creepy old guy that hangs around teenagers.

doug...i'm going to go to a merc dealership today...take a pic of all the montereys....

and then ask someone how many they have sold...rough estimate of course...

And then i'm going to Text message all the pics to you...

and then record a MMS message of me laughing..

Then i will ask you to politely hold the phone up to your face with speakerphone on..

So you get the full effect of me laughing in your face

^ Wow that would be way to much work for me...but I'm just a lazy ass .

The poll option needs to define what Doug smells like, rather than just declaring he has an odour.

Perhaps, but at the end of the day, I don't see a single Mercury product that's worse-looking than its Ford counterpart. The Milan and Montego are gorgeous, and the Mountaineer and Mariner are nicer than Explorer and Escape respectively. I personally would get a Mercury over a Ford but then again I'm not on the tightest budget ever.

Same! Mine was copper. I saw my first one (silver) two days after debut - picture taken and it's coming to CarSource in October.

Um... when I talk about cars I've seen, DEALERS DON'T COUNT. I don't know how many times I have to say this before you losers comprehend it.

You must be slow getting them over there, you can't go anywhere here without tripping over a wannabe in a psuedo Range Rover. I think they must be out-selling Vauxhall Corsas and Ford Fiestas now.

Do shows count? :p There were 2 Phantoms, a 100EX, 3 SLRs, a Maybach etc. etc.

But I guess not, as it was Goodwood.

Even so, this is my current on-road record, off the top of my head:

3 SLRs (One of them was X55 SLR - why is that registration particularly famous, Top Gear viewers?)
2 Phantoms
1 Maybach
Umpteen DB9s
A few Vipers recently, too.

Don't ask me about Ferraris, they're (comparitively) common as. I'll stick my camera in my car and start looking around more attentively.

These are a few from the past couple weeks.

Autocar magazine this week has run a small article about a modified SLR spotted testing at the Ring with a TVR Sagaris style rear wing.

McLaren are saying that 50% of all the SLR's they've produced have now been modified, performance wise, in some way!

I saw a Phantom today and didn't :banghead: have :banghead: my :banghead: camera. Dangnabbit.

Also saw an Bentley Arnarge and a C3 'Vette.

I saw an Infiti FX45 today. In Sweden. Which is single-digit territory for this car, let alone this brand.

How it ended up there is beyond me (must have been imported via Germany, only way to do it), but it was nice looking nonetheless.

I also saw an SLR on the motorways there too. Suddenly it was there, then it wasn't. Shortly after I saw an E60 M5. But neither of these cars are as rare as the Infiniti - in Sweden.

Cars like these are rare here, though. Most exciting local cars is an older Diablo, a drag-race prepared Trans-Am (street legal, if I may add) and a stretched Lada. I doubt the latter is still around though, due to poor all-round build-quality. Rear leg-room was impressive, though.

Arnages have hugely humbling presences.
