Anyone else buying this when it comes out in April??
We played this for the first time at a birthday party a couple weekends ago. The first song I played I got a 80 something the the 2nd song I got a 90%. Very addictive and enjoyable game. A little rough on the fingers but I guess I just press too hard on the buttons. We will buy this for the xbox360 when it comes out. Hopefully the 360 version has more songs because we got kinda bored of the song selection after several hours of playing. I am sure the 360 version will have DL content. We plan on buying 2 guitars too.

If the Flying "V" works with the pc GH clones I would get it for that reason kinda like the value of the Drving force pro sky rocketed when it was discovered that it works as a pc wheel.

But if you dont own the the ps2 verison then its should be a hit on 360 and will sell in large numbers.
 
Yup I already have is reserved and paid for at Gamestop, I can't wait for it, it's going to be sweet!
 
Yeah I'll be picking this up, I haven't played the first or second on PS2 yet so it's good to hear that they're going to have DLC for it.
 
The only game I am more excited about than this is Forza II. I am going to pre-order it directly from Red Octane, the 2-guitar package. It's a good deal as they say that they will ship them out to customers right away, possibly even before the offical ship date so that those who order with them will get priority. Plus a free 2-guitar gig bag. :) No sales tax & free shipping, it seemes to be the best deal, and I don't even have to go to the store to pick it up. Linkage:

I am going to pre-order this today while I am at EB games to pick up Earth Defense Force 2017. :)
 
The EB store where I live is no longer taking pre-orders!!! If anyone is interrested in getting this game you might want to call first and make sure its in. This is not a rumor this is a fact.

Luckily I went down the road to Best Buy and pre-ordered Guitar Hero 2. My local eb had over 1000 pre-orders for this game. :scared:
 
As an owner of the PS2 game (bought it the day it dropped), I can't say that I'm switching quite yet. Another $90 for a new guitar and what is essentially the same game (outside of a few special tracks [MCR, w00t!] and DLC...)...

I'm probably just going to wait until GH3 on the 360...

Yeah I was surprised it wasnt over live but oh well. We still need to find a 2nd guitar. We already reserved this at Best Buy but they didnt have any extra guitars. So hopefully we can find a 2nd guitar next week so we can play together.

Wow it looks like I am picking this up tomorrow Tuesday 3rd!! I just called and they will be selling GH2 tomorrow Tuesday the 3rd!!! Best Buy, Circuit City, and EB Games will all be selling it tomorrow in my area. However if you didnt pre-order your chances of getting the game are very very slim.

Learning that all the classic songs will not be included but slowly released as DLC helped me decide not to get this. I'll wait for GH3 on PS3, and hopefully it will be wireless and blutooth.

For now I'll stick with frets on fire until i can snag me a modded PS2 to make my own songs like i did with frets on fire.

Hmm 30 GH1 songs x what $1 each maybe. now its a $120 game.
 
30 bucks for GH1 though is still a good deal though, the cheapest I can find GH1 around here is $39.99 at Gamestop and even then it's used.
 
Thats assuming the songs are $1. anymore than that and its gets a bit expensive. And for those who have the first two games this applies to. New players it is fine if you want to spend $120.
 
Oh I thought they had said they were a dollar a song. I have GH2 for the PS2 but my buddy gave it to me when his PS2 died, I rarely use the PS2 no so I figured I'd trade that in towards the 360 version. I don't think I ever play GH1, so I'll be curious to see what songs it had.
 
i'll be a new player to this stuff. my friends bring their ps2 guitars and game to my place sometimes and its a load of fun. But i never actually owned this game. So it'll be a nice experience... waiting on amazon to deliver the goods now :D
 
I played the demo today at Best Buy and the guitar is a little different. The strap connectes to the back of the guitar on both sides (on the neck and the body) so it kinda sits funky at first. The neck is thinner too, so that took a little getting used to as well. I still rocked the demo on Hard though and drew a crowd of about 6 people. :D

And that's the thing that kinda kills GH2 for me. I haven't played the game, and I'm sure it's loads of fun, but I seriously, seriously doubt it's $120 fun. There's just many better things I could spend my money on.

oh man, it is worth 120$ of fun, don't you worry about "that". Especially if you can get someone else (friends) to get a set as well. Its awesome when you have a bunch of friends around.
 
Hopefully I'll be picking this up tomorrow. I can't wait for DLC content (as I said before) and my final exam is this Thursday, so then I'll have two weeks to play it. :D
