Hackers becoming an increasing problem

As of last week, there were only 2 or 3 hackers known in the online drag community. Now as of just last night, there are atleast 3 more as well as those hackers spreading their cars via save editors. Most of these people have already been reported, but PD is not banning them from the servers. This is a warning of things to come, and for those who still run legitimately - watch people carefully.

If you're suspect to someone doing this, do not claim it outright until you have the necessary proof. Watch them on the "watch race" menu to see if they trap abnormally high speeds for the car, or possibly using nitrous in lobbies that have it restricted. Once it is proven they are using modified cars - make sure you have reported them and alert other members of the drag community to who they are & the cars they are using. I fear this is going to continue to grow unless we actively try to search and report these people so PD can be alerted to the problem before it gets out of hand.

This is not a blacklist topic. I do not want names or PSN IDs listed. This is for the benefit of the community so we can continue to race legitimately and not have this game turn out like GT5.

Sadly it's not just a Gran Turismo's problem. No matter what the game it seems some little poo paints just ain't happy unless he's ruling the roost via any means possible.
I've tried countless times reporting people, but to no avail.
Sony only gives a rats ass about our $s, not our gaming experience.

Guess it would actually help to know the names. Why the hell would I want to have a hacker in my room.

Sucks. Wonder why they will not get banned. Pretty crappy!

Well black listing is frowned upon here. Try to get in to a social circle, they will tell you without exploiting them.
With the response to GT5, I doubt they will do much. Also the way computer programs are and the ease of access to info, it doesn't take a college grad to figure out hacking.

Next time I see you in a room, I'll let you know who the guys are. One of them was hosting a room yesterday and his friend was talking about a hacked car he has, as well as giving them away with save editors. I'm guessing PD isn't investigating the reported players. If they did, they'd know their cars aren't right.

So back to topic and about that person in nova i came closer to see the car and it was slamed but it sounded stock so he was using weight reduction and drivetrain from another car ....

So its a hybrid then, not just hacked horsepower. One of the more known guys is using AWD drivetrain hacks to make his cars launch like a GTR.

Thank you for clearing up some of the junk, Vagabond. Now we can focus on the problem at hand. PD hasn't released any other information for 1.06 but, at the very least, they should be aware of the hacker situation. I hope they will acknowledge the problem on their website and work on fixes so they can keep this away from the online aspect of the game.

I pray gifting to friends isnt part of any updates coming soon, cause as much as everyone loves showing off their internet speed for pinks it will make the hacks unbareable in no time

Agreed, I wanted gifting back but after this I really don't want it now. It still wont matter though because some people are getting these cars from friends through save editors so gifting doesn't have to be included in the game to be able to acquire these hacked cars or any cars for that matter. I really though that PD would step it up this time around and ban the hackers, and if they make new accounts eventually it will lead to a console ban but they don't seem to care, I think it's because PD is making money off of this game. Think like a troll or a hacker, if you were one wouldn't you want to hack every game and be the so called "best" at it using any means possible to do so, if I was a hacker and a troll and I found out that GT6 and other games were allowing hacks I'd jump at that chance therefore I'd go out and buy the game thus PD makes money. All they care about is the money nothing else, I've stuck by PD and the GT series since I was 3 years old back in 1999 and have played and enjoyed every GT game but lately I've just been nothing short of disappointed and am even considering quitting GT all together if this hacking gets out of control again. 15 years of GT and this is what it comes down to, either PD steps up and bans all hackers or they will lose their loyal customers, it's enough to bring a tear to my eye and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, I've grown up with this series and I don't want to see it go down the drain because of the no life hackers, honestly online play is the best and worst thing to happen to the GT series. If you share any of my views on this please like this post, maybe we could even start an online petition to get all hackers banned and send it to PD and maybe they will do something.

Why you dont just put restrictions on your rooms, it's not that hard?
If someone used drivetrain swap he can't join then since FR shows 4wd or what ever he has changed and pp is much higher.
And about grip multiplier, if you raise it by one, your pp is then 2,5 higher and you realy cant notice any differnce on it.
Just put pp and hp restrictions and you are done.

Actually drivetrain swaps aren't exactly just a simple drivetrain swap, all people do is add a torque split to their RWD car of choice and then it launchs 8 car lengths harder and the game doesn't register it as 4WD. I know this from make a few in GT5 to battle the hackers, I restricted 4WD drivetrain out and I could still get on the track with an ACR that had a 45 55 torque split on it, it launched at a 1.7 0-60 and pulled an 8.6 in a quarter mile this was with all legit HP performance points and weight. As for the grip mod, that doesn't raise the performance points at all and it is insanely hard to spot, you have to know exactly how the car moves and look extremely close to your TV screen to be able to notice it, on GT5 sometimes the car would shake a bit as it launched.

Ok thanks for info, I noticed you know quite lot of GT6 hacking so I don't need spread any info here anymore.
Thank you :)
Edit:
Please read again: if you raise grip multiplier by one your pp raises by 2-3 so it's 2,5 more pp.

Maybe you have to learn a bit more, @JK83

Currently all save editors are for CFW users only. So its not going to be as big as GT5 hybrids and hacks. I think for GT7 with it being mext gen PD just needs to include all this stuff in game.

The way I see it is that when the GT5 servers get shut down all the no life hackers will get GT6 and there will be nothing but hacks, I'll give it until the end of summer before it's a HUGE problem again. There are two codes that need to be cracked and so far one has been already so once GT5 is no more that second code will be cracked and there will be garage editors and hacks in every room so have some hacked cars handy because it's about to get messy.

Save editors can still crack through legit OFW saves and spread hybrid cars. The only thing that is stopping a massive outbreak is the release of a garage editor on PC, because these hackers are using the editor on their CFW PS3 currently. Apparently they can avoid using the 2nd encryption while on CFW, but a PC version needs it and they're in the process of making the editor with the double encryption crack. It's only a matter of time. The only thing that could slow them down would be new updates with a third encryption or change of the 2nd encryption code entirely. Then PD would need to implement a check system for minimum & maximum PPs and specs of vehicles so it could do a self-detection of hacked cars.

That self check thing would come in handy, it would make it a lot easier than memorizing every car's performance points, power, and weight. Even with all of this done people are still going to hack and lie about it though even when clear proof is right in front of the lobbies eyes. I've seen it before and I'm sure I'm going to see it again, at least now they are taking some kind of step toward helping with the hackers.

The newest update allows you to check the horsepower of the cars in the lobby, so it will help deter the use of hacks.
