There will be dual pole position and race winners and it will be based on the class you are running. Points will be separated by class. The LMP1 drivers will be responsible for safely getting around the GT3 class. Due the closing speed differential, do not plan on GT3s being able to move out of the way for the faster LMP1s. All racers should respect those battling for position and do what they can not to disrupt the flow of the race, so remember to stay aware of what is happenning around you. If the car coming up on you isn't a green or red dot on your track map, you are not racing with them for position, so please be courteous and let them pass and don't try to "race" with them.

    RACE 1 - February 12th: Monza GP (45 laps - default weather) Winners: HazardLvL4 (LMP1) & Ekay_Jay (GT3 + pole position)

@GUTTERBOY3007 - Hey gutter, I just want to say LittleBunnyFuFu needs to leave. He cost me the lead of the race, by forcing me off track and giving me a 5 second penalty on lap 29. Then later he straight-lines the final chicane before the start/finish straight and comes within a foot or two of T-boning @Freddude. We can't have drivers making these type of mistakes like this around the leaders.

    To all Half-Fast Racers,

The past year since we started the league in February of 2016 has been a lot of fun. We started with just 5 of us and now we have 150+ racers from all over the world. The idea of Half-Fast came about in order to have real competition without all of the drama that we saw in other leagues that have a grievance process, marshals for video reviews, incident reports, points penalties, etc... Our main tenant was race fast, race clean, apologize if you made a mistake, but most of all: HAVE FUN! We realized that no matter what, we were really just man-children driving digital pretend race cars in a game and it should be fun, not stressful. That's why our motto was: "Unreal Racing - Real Competition".

For me, things have changed and it's time for me to move on to other things. No one person or incident caused this change of heart. It's just that racing for me hasn't been fun for a while now. With as many racers as we have, I was hoping to be able to run a dual Sunday Series and host two rooms, sort of a PRO-AM concept. We just haven't had the stable numbers to run a fast room and a slow room, which would have helped things be competitive and safe for the front runners while allowing the slower guys to be competitive with each other and learn to become better racers. The grid has now transitioned to the really fast guys running world record times out on the track with some of us who are just basically running laps and trying to stay out of their way.

Last Sunday's race as Zolder was my last with Half-Fast Racing League. I'm going to take a sabbatical and see if I have a change of heart and want to return. Since I am the PSN Community "owner", I won't shut it down. If someone wants to take over running the Sunday Series please let me know and I'll make you a moderator so you can make community posts and changes as you see fit.

I've made some really good friends through our racing together, so hit me up when you see me online and we can have a good laugh together.

Thanks for the fun times, and goodbye!

    -Steve (GUTTER-BOY)

    See you around Gutter,

I started out as a slow guy and learning how to drive properly through half fast. I dont break lap records but I find i can stay on track and have a better knowledge of racing now. If your half fast league was not started i would probably not be as good or have met so many friends on PSN who offer advice and help to get people better so cheers and wish you all the best gutter.

    @GUTTERBOY3007, @cheezzus

I feel as if I am one of the drivers who has led up to this cross road. I want, nor think you should leave Half Fast Racing. I understand that if you are burnt out, and don't have your heart in it, then I see why you want to leave. But if it is because of some of the drama on track, as of late, then I think there is another solution. First, I want to say that I love Half Fast Racing. It was my first real league experience, and it has been fantastic. Every single person in it I consider a friend. However, I think the core of the issue is the two categories of drivers currently in the league. We have drivers who are here for having fun, and don't take everything super serious; but we also have drivers (myself included) who are out to destroy lap records and win every race. I would rather you ask the fast guys (myself included) to leave the league, rather than have you leave it, and possibly cause the demise of Half Fast. You (@GUTTERBOY3007) and @cheezzus are the founders of Half Fast, and shouldn't give it up because of a few drivers. I am sorry that you are leaving. I can't imagine a Sunday race without you or cheeze, and a Friday race for that matter. Since I feel that the league would benefit more by the removal of the fast drivers, I myself will be retiring from Half Fast for the foreseeable future. I will always consider you and cheeze my friends, and will race with you guys anytime you send me an invite.

Thanks @GUTTERBOY3007, for the good times, good laughs, and good friends.

You are more than welcome to hit me up for any other games you play as well brotha.

No way!!... cmon buddy, you can't leave! Let's run the old stuff, we can still have the banter going on but run wheel to wheel. If it gets spread out. Put a caution up. Run sprint races, reverse grid. Hell, I'm willing to take a handicap, (just not rain tires) hahaha. I'll help you out if you like, but I'm not good at running stuff...
whattaya say? If we get enough like minded drivers it could be a blast! We could run different cars based on lap times.
How about it? Huh spike huh spike? Whattaya say?

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm not mad at anyone or butthurt about anything in particular. I'm proud to see so many Half-Faster's destroying the Steam lap time records, especially considering that the HF guys are running without any assists. I've had others (members from other leagues and even in a couple of public lobbies) comment on how fast our racers are. To be honest, I'm just too slow to run competitively and I don't have the time to put in the practice to get better.

Hazard (and anyone else considering it), please don't leave the league. I know how much time and effort you and the others put in so as to race as fast and clean as possible. It's not right that all that dedication is ruined by someone who is just joking and screwing around and doesn't take it seriously (me! lol). Plus, my new work shift has really screwed up my sleep pattern and I'm having a hard time concentrating and staying coordinated. Plus, there are other games I want to try out, that aren't racing games. I'll still jump on with you guys from time to time, and we can run for fun.

Think of it like building up a succesful company: Sooner or later you need to move on and leave it up to others to make it even better. There are a lot of great people and racers in HFRL, so I'd love to see it grow and become even better than cheezz and I ever imagined. My "skills" have reached their maximum potential, and as Dirty Harry said, "A man's got to know his limitations".

    Hazard,

First off I'd like to apologize for those two instances. It was my first race in this type of league. Not accustomed to situations like these.

Also, instead of coming on here and complaining (for lack of a better word), why not just message me on PSN? Maybe ask what happened. Or offer a suggestion on how to handle that situation.

I appreciate your apology. I knew it was your first race with Half Fast Sunday, but I didn't know it was your first race in a league in general. I won't lie, this multi-class racing is tough for all of us. It has led to many circumstances causing frustration and anger. I admit that my complaint to @GUTTERBOY3007 was still fueled by frustration. SpeedDemon666, @Freddude, and myself have been battling each other, and the slower GT3 traffic all season. When we are in those LMP-1's we are on the limit at all times. We spend an entire week just setting them up, and as you probably saw it keeps us within tenths of each other, so when something happens on track that takes away our battle, or ruins our race for a possible win, it upsets us. Your right, I should have probably been more forgiving and provided constructive criticism, but in the heat of battle for a championship, I wasn't looking at it that way. Either way I hope you do continue to race with Half Fast. Please don't take my frustration as a representation of the league as a whole. If you ever have any questions on setups or techniques you are more then welcome to contact me for practice or questions.

Honestly I get your frustration. I'd probably would've done the same thing. Or yelled post race and had a Busch-Logano incident after the race. I'll definitely try and pay more attention behind me and take a better approach at letting faster cars go by safely.

I strive to be on the level the highly experienced racers like ya'll are, with racecraft and tuning. I'll get there eventually...Hopefully.

I have no doubt anyone can become a top tier driver. With practice, and having an open mind absorbing everything the other drivers in the league have to offer, you will be there in no time.

@cheezzus, I think it would be good to get @Khems17, LittleBunnyFuFu, involved in the Half Fast Friday night league as well, if he able to attend. Give him more time on track with all of us, in a lighter atmosphere.

Yes, it is. The Firday night lobby is far more oriented around just having fun clean racing. Most of the drivers hardly practice before hand, so there is no crazy LR times usually.
