Sunday Season 7: Mixed Class LMP1/GT3 Series (12 races)
(STARTS FEBRUARY 12th)
Race starts at 1:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.
15 minute practice, 20 minute qualification for LMP1, then 20 minutes for GT3, 5 minute warm up, approximately 1 hour long (lap-based) race with mandatory pitstop.
Car selection & livery (paint job/number) will be used for entire series. You are not allowed to switch vehicles once the first race day begins.
No assists/full damage/real tire wear/real fuel use/penalties & flags on.
We will do a standing start race based on the green light (NOT a rolling/formation lap start to the race)

There will be dual pole position and race winners and it will be based on the class you are running. Points will be separated by class. The LMP1 drivers will be responsible for safely getting around the GT3 class. Due the closing speed differential, do not plan on GT3s being able to move out of the way for the faster LMP1s. All racers should respect those battling for position and do what they can not to disrupt the flow of the race, so remember to stay aware of what is happenning around you. If the car coming up on you isn't a green or red dot on your track map, you are not racing with them for position, so please be courteous and let them pass and don't try to "race" with them.
RACE 1 - February 12th: Monza GP (45 laps - default weather) Winners: Hazard (LMP1) & Ekay_Jay (GT3 + pole position)
Race 2 - February 19th: Road America (40 laps - in game date is June 26, 2016 @ noon. Weather is clear and dry. That was the date of last years Pirelli World Challenge race). FYI: While LMP1s will run the full 40 laps, due to the difference in lap times the GT3s will most likely get in 32-34 laps. WINNERS: Speed_Demon777 (LMP1 + pole position) & Ekay_Jay (GT3 + pole position)

GT3 racers: To determine how many laps you'll probably do, divide 60 (1 hour race) by your lap time. For example, if you're running a 2:00 minute lap time, 60 divided by 2.00 = 30 laps. If 2:15 then 60 divided by 2.15 = 28 laps (27.9 rounded up). Not perfect but at least an educated "guesstimate".

There will be dual pole position and race winners and it will be based on the class you are running. Points will be separated by class. The LMP1 drivers will be responsible for safely getting around the GT3 class. Due the closing speed differential, do not plan on GT3s being able to move out of the way for the faster LMP1s. All racers should respect those battling for position and do what they can not to disrupt the flow of the race, so remember to stay aware of what is happenning around you. If the car coming up on you isn't a green or red dot on your track map, you are not racing with them for position, so please be courteous and let them pass and don't try to "race" with them.

@GUTTERBOY3007 - I know we discussed this briefly yesterday prior to the race, but I really think we should consider some kind of weather for one of the remaining rounds. From the looks of it we only have one more night race and that is LeMans. Maybe we do just a 2 stage weather setup like, start in Rain/light rand and it changes to Heavy clouds at the end or something...
However, I do understand your reservations with having two classes on track and then adding in another layer of difficulty for drivers to deal with.

What do you Half-Faster's think about a wet-weather race? Silverstone is coming up March 19, and that's a good track for the rain - plenty of run off room and places to safely pass, especially with LMP1s and GT3s sharing the track. Plus it's England, so rain is to be expected. LOL. Let me know what you think and we can vote on it.
By the way: Race 8 at Zolder is a day-night-day race, too.

Is it April 16th? I'm a heathen, so I forgot all about it being Easter because I usually only go to church on Christmas Eve with the family. If people will have a hard time making it, we can postpone the race and shift everything by one week, which would put Hockenheim on the 23rd and Zhuhai on the 30th, etc.

There will be dual pole position and race winners and it will be based on the class you are running. Points will be separated by class. The LMP1 drivers will be responsible for safely getting around the GT3 class. Due the closing speed differential, do not plan on GT3s being able to move out of the way for the faster LMP1s. All racers should respect those battling for position and do what they can not to disrupt the flow of the race, so remember to stay aware of what is happenning around you. If the car coming up on you isn't a green or red dot on your track map, you are not racing with them for position, so please be courteous and let them pass and don't try to "race" with them.
RACE 1 - February 12th: Monza GP (45 laps - default weather) Winners: HazardLvL4 (LMP1) & Ekay_Jay (GT3 + pole position)
Race 2 - February 19th: Road America (40 laps - in game date is June 26, 2016 @ noon. Weather is clear and dry. That was the date of last years Pirelli World Challenge race). FYI: While LMP1s will run the full 40 laps, due to the difference in lap times the GT3s will most likely get in 32-34 laps. Winners: Speed_Demon777 (LMP1 + pole position) & Ekay_Jay (GT3 + pole position)

Race 5 - March 12th: Spa Francorchamps 35 laps (in game date June 15, 2016 @ 3:00 pm / weather is dry & clear)

Race 6 - March 19th: Silverstone GP 40 laps (in game date June 15, 2016 @ 3:00 pm with real time progression / Weather is: heavy clouds/light fog/heavy fog with rain/light rain with 10x weather progression. That means each type of weather will last about 8 laps until moving to next type of weather. This will occur all through the race. Plan your pit stop and strategy accordingly!

Race starts at 1:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.
15 minute practice, 20 minute qualification for LMP1, then 20 minutes for GT3, 5 minute warm up, approximately 1 hour long (lap-based) race with mandatory pitstop.
Car selection & livery (paint job/number) will be used for entire series. You are not allowed to switch vehicles once the first race day begins.
No assists/full damage/real tire wear/real fuel use/penalties & flags on.
We will do a standing start race based on the green light (NOT a rolling/formation lap start to the race)
