Got it with no problems. Finding the wheels is a little challenging though.

But I got it. No one warned me of the boat chase. OK, I'm on the boat chase, but I'm now at the part where there are 2 Trucks shooting missles. I see a ramp from place to another but nothing in between and no way to get up.


BTW, that chooper gun pwns! And it regenrates!

How far am I in the game anyways? I have already ran into a few zombies. Got to shoot them in the head.

Take out the two trucks, then straight ahead after the entrance point there's a red container. Get out of your boat, walk behind the contianer, blow up the hazard barrels and go get back in yoru boat and drive through.. Follow the "road" around and jump the ramp.. I just did this a few days ago.. I havent played the game since. I'm really not looking forward to the zombies. 👎
 
This game ROCKS!!!

i put in about 30 hours before i finally beat it.

Acidx: Just wait untill you get attacked by gunships!

McLaren_F1GTR: There are no alien type guns and the grav gun is loads of fun. You dont get the shotgun untill later.

Who has beat the game? and what difficulty? I have on normal.
 
I always though the Pulse Rifle was alien since the Combine seem to use it.It's my favourite gun.
 
Oh lordy! As the first PC i've bought since Battlefield 1942, this is by far the best pc game ever.

It rocks! Biggest things i love about it so far (i'm up to just after you get the antigrav gun) are:

1. The graphics. Oh my god, talk about beautiful. I see why everyone says the water looks good as in DirectX 9 it looks awesome :D The detail on people is fantastic. Facial expressions are just extreme.

2. The anti grav gun and the ability to pick stuff up and throw it around. Too good for words. A little bit stunning it's so good. Love dropping grenades and then antigravving them into the distance.

3. Hitman style ragdoll physics. Shot a guy in the head with the magnum revolver, he flipped backwards and landed bent in two. After another shot in the body he slid across the floor and over a ledge where he ended up hanging by one foot with water below. One last shot in the foot and he fell into the murky waters. Awesome with grenades and the like.

4. The fact that i've played it non-stop for about 5 hours and didn't get bored, didn't get too disoriented and felt thoroughly immersed in the whole thing.

It's fantastic.
 
AHHHHHRRRRRRGG!!!! You guys are torturing me!! I want this soo bad but I was hoping to wait till the price dropped. I just got a $10 gift certificate for best buy so I think I am getting this game tomorrow or by the end of the week. I just cant wait any more! I hope everyone is still playing this online.
 
Sorry for the double post but I just cant take it any more. Im going to pick this up after work in about 3 hours. :)
 
I bought this last night. We ended up with an error during install. Called Best buy and they said we needed to install the windows update. So on top of installing the windows update and installing Half Life 2 TWICE, about 2 hours later I finally got to play. I only had enough time to start throwing bottles and cans at the guards before I had to put the game up for the night. Its so funny they just stand there all calm then you throw a can across the room right into the side of their head. :lol:
So I only had about 15 minutes into playing it and im still trying to get used to the mouse and keyboard.
What do you use to play this? Controller, mouse, keypad? I will post a more detailed review later. I will be playing this all night tonight when I get home.
Forgot to mention that I bought all the stuff to play the game thru my television but the I realized it would be a pain to try to use the keyboard then look over at the TV so I will just wait for now. I had the S-video cable and the conversion box for my old TV but but them back.
 
LMFAO AND :yuck: At the same time. Now that is punishment! That wouldnt be so disturbing if it was a woman or even 2 women. :)
 
Gary's mod is so funny, there is many disturbing pics on the net that people made with that mod :).
 
I finally had a chance to start playing this game. I played for about 2 hours last night and I am on a level where these mini helicopter bugs fly at you with saws on them. I saw a really ugly looking monster thing behind a pallet that spooked me pretty good. So far I absolutely love this game and im sure I am still only at the beginning of it. Since I havent read any spoilers I really have no idea whats ahead and I cant wait to see! The graphics and physics alone are amazing. I hope to play it some more over the weekend.

The good stuff is yet to come.There are so many cool moments in the game,like when you get the Gravity gun.That was so much fun.Oh and those mini helicopter bugs are called Manhacks. 👍

I cant wait! Im going to try to set my comp up so I can play this on my TV. There is one problem I have had in the game so far. A lot of the time the soundtrack and backround music starts skipping. Thats the only prob ive had so far but I just try to ignore it. Any suggestions? I have a brand new ATI rageon 9550 256 mb dor video card. And my comp has over 1gig of ram. 2.8 processor.
 
The skipping is a common problem for many but I thought they have fixed it with updates through steam?
 
There is a patch that you can download thru steam that will fix the sound skipping problem.

I guess im glad to hear im not the only one with the sound problem.
I played a little further this weekend and now im on the level with the helicopter that is above that keeps shooting you ever few seconds. I also just got the magnum. I got to that level then decided I wanted to try out the Deathmatch online.
The deathmatch was just impossible to explain. Everything you can imagine was flying thru the air to kill people. This was the first time I was introduced to the gravaton gun. Its just way more fun than I can explain. You can pick just about anything up with that gun or send just about anything flying. Sinks, toilets, heaters, tires, tables, cabinets, exploding barrels and mucm more...I walked outside and someone shot an entire car at me and crushed me with it. :lol:
The room I was in only had 2 different levels. Are there more levels online?

HL2 DM is a blast, sometimes I just stop an laugh at the funny stuff that happens.

Only 2 maps have been released but you can download lots of unoffical maps that have been made.

Hey, since I Mostly play Source, how would I be able to get in touch with someone outside the game once in?
 
I have been so busy with Kaido Battle 2 that I havent even touched Half Life 2 since I got to the level with the annoying helicopter. I will have to sit down some time and play again.
 
I started playing HL2 again this weekend again. I am currently on the "Sandtraps" level. So far this has been my favorite. I really like how I had to make bridges out of doors, planks, metal and other miscelaneous objects in order to avoid the "sand lions" . I just passed the part where they showed me how I can control the sand lions. I haven't used them yet but the next time I play I will be looking forward to it. :)
I really had a fun time playing catch with "DOG" when I first got the gravity gun. :lol: I should have taken a screeshot of him.
The puzzles are my favorite part of the game. So far they have been extremely easy to figure out but they are still fun.
Im not sure how far I am in the game but I hope it doesn't end any time soon. :)

Wow, your first screenshot reminded me of something.

The first time I played through the game, when I got to that bridge part, I was like "WOW, ITS GOLDENEYE 64 ALL OVER AGAIN! WEEEE!"

Then I spent about an hour trying to find a liveable way to get down to sea level. I got suprisingly close.

Very addicting game, especially once you get your hands on garrysmod.

I hate, I repeat HATE those damn zombies with the black infected head crabs :scared:

When you hear them at a distance it makes me shudder. Also the sound of those super fast zombies.

Oh yeah no kidding!!!! The really fast ones that run on the roof tops and are screaming. My god those were scary. Especially in the tunnel towards the end. One part was just unreal. They were coming from everywhere and extremely fast. I can still hear them screaming when I go to bed at night. I get massive goose bumps from that!! :scared: :scared:
 
I'm afraid to play now. I havent touched the game in weeks. :\

I havent even gotten to the scary parts, but just hearing about them scares me. Yep.

Ah it's only beginning. Look forward to finding the harpoons soon which you can use similarly to the buzz saws and throw with the gravity gun. They are only in one small section half way up a cliff next to a bashed up rowing boat and a zombie. Tonnes of fun, don't miss out.

I played this again over the weekend. I should have read this again before I played because now im past that part and I didnt get to have fun with the harpoons. Hmm I might have to go back to check it out. Sure was fun controlling all those sand lions and watch them viciously attack everyone. I was shocked how high they could fly in the air. They flew all the way to the top of one of the towers just to protect me. :)

sorry, but how much mb is required on the video card? and what special features are needed (aka, pixel shading, t&l, etc...)

so PXS isnt really required ( i dont know if it was made back in the DX7 days);
