I agree. Halo's rank system is one of the best in any game in the world. They did an incredible job with that entire system.
The coolest part about the rank system is that it is different in every single online mode. So if your not good at one mode your rank will be lower. However if you are really good at something different your rank will be higher. In team snipers my rank is only 1 or 2 because I am not that good and I just dont play that mode but modes like team slayer or big team battle I stay around 22-25.
I really like new big team battle called "Big team battle slayer" Its like slayer but instead of 4 on 4 this is 8 on 8!! Thats right 16 people all killing. Awesome mode!!! I have been trying Swat a little more too and that can be fun or frustrating. Last night all the games I played were fun. Heather played for a while too.
Also like I always say, if the trash talking gets too brutal just simply take your headset off.
Cant wait for Halo 3. 👍 The best part of Halo 3 on the 360 is going to be the ignore mode. If you find a person thats racist or talking crap you can pick their name then "Avoid" them and the 360 will make sure you never play with them ever again. :)

A couple of my friends around here think that anything below level 35 overall is bad. Which is partly why I don't have Live, and why I play XBC, which uses a star rating system. But if I did have Live, I would play mostly Swat, Big team, CTF, and snipers. I like all of those, and just go to Team Training every once and awhile.
 
Doesn't matter how good or bad you are. If you are level 5 you will be matched with other level 5 players. Thats the most impressive part of matchmaking. 👍 And like I just said above your rank will be different in every mode you play. As you can see in my stats above. There are so many modes to pick from that everyone can find something they like.

Also, does BTB Skirmish = Big Team Battle Skirmish?

Yes it is really that good. There is no other game anywhere that has the online play of Halo 2. I have played just about everything and this is one of the only games that my girlfriend and I both keep playing.

Maybe CounterStrike or Unreal has as many and they're on the PC, but yeah Halo 2 is the best online console game.

For your stats go to the bungie site then click stats at the bottom. Then put your name on the left side where it sais "Locate gamertag" Post a screen shot of your stats when you get them.

Me and one of my slightly more unusual buddies from school are already in progress of taking over the world. He's supposed to be making a 100 foot tall robot powesuit and taking over North America right now, but I haven't seen any progress lately :indiff:
 
It makes the gameplay so much better. Then again you have 2 types of people that mess up the matchmaking,

1 - People who have gone up to say, level 30 or so in team slayer, by either cheating or playing properly. They then get their a**es handed to them in every game so they decide to de-rank. Which means you have someone on a level 20 who is really a level 30 - Very annoying.

2 - People who are fed-up of cheating. In the +30 ranks it seems that nearly every second game you go into there is someone cheating, so the people who dont cheat de-rank to get a fair game with no cheating.

Cheating does spoil H2 O/L a bit - H3 will be much better you would think.
 
I've played Halo PC many times, and the people that cheat put up their own servers. They don't go into other people's games and start modding, but some of the mods that they have are really fun. Like the Skybase mod on BloodGulch, that's fun until you get some idiots complaining how to get up there.
 
Well those mod teams, say BT, BBT and The Last Snipers are pretty good, but by modding I mean those who use aimbot and stuff. Aimbot should be banned...
 
Yea, my friend Modded his xbox extremely bad. Weapons didnt reload just kept shooting, etc.

Im off to a friends house now to hook 2 xboxs up and own with a sniper. Muwhahahhah.
 
What exactly is aimbot? Is it like an instant headshot mod or something, or does it auto-lock on to the enemies?

Well in Counter Strike (Hate This game cause of all the hackers) it goes for an auto headshot, but it could be different if Halo2.
 
I've heard that it's just like the auto-aim found in GTA San Andreas and such. Of course I've never used it so I don't exactly know.

The only game that I can think of that even comes close to Halo 2(ONLINE) is Battlefield 2 Modern Combat. That still is not even close but its the only game I can think of that compares and thats a weak comparison. Both are great games but no FPS online game is like Halo 2. Especially with the really impressive matchmaking set up.

The first thing any game for any console would need to compare to Halo 2 would be the Matchmaking set up and all the customizing options that Halo 2 has online. No other game has a system like this and it works real well in matching you up with people that have your same level. If your level 5 they try to match you up accordingly. I would think the only other game that will be like Halo 2 is Halo 3.
 
right now, most people play Halo 2 as a FPS online, u think when Halo 3 comes out every one will switch to that? or will some people still play halo2? i am just contemplating if i should get a 360 or not,cuz i really like playing halo (even though i really suck at it) but i'm def getting the PS3.

There will still be many peoplel playing Halo 2. Keep in mind to play Halo 3 you will need the xbox360. Not everyone can afford one. Many people in the Halo community are quite young which usually means asking mom or dad for the 360 and the game. Those people that have the 360 will definetly be playing Halo 3. I can almost guarantee that. :sly: If Halo 3 came out on the PS3 I would buy the PS3. :lol: Thats how good Halo 2 is.
You should get a 360 for sure. There are a lot of great games on this system and many more great games coming out in the near future. My girlfriend and I both have a 360.
 
My friend got me hooked on Halo2 online. I'm not great but I'm getting better. Right now I'm a level 14 in Team Slayer (went fron lvl5 to 14 in like 3 days :lol: ). My friend is a legit level 41. :)

Integra Type R (arkitech) I am sure I have you on my list already. I posted my stats in post #308. I am not that good either but if you get some friends together its a lot more fun. Heather and I play once in a while with my friend from Florida but since we got the 360 we have been neglecting him. :scared:

if Halo3 came out for PS3, which i highly doubt, then that would be awesome!!! i was just at another thread looking at the game Crysis and holy mother of god, i cried knowing that my PC will never run that game.

I find it ironic that a huge percentage of players of a M-rated game are kids. :crazy:
