Damn, just got back from a friends house, and I'm honestly contemplating borrowing $50 from my sis to get an Xbox with Halo 2. I played the Single Player for a wile, and then he's like let's play online. All I can say is wow. The game really doesn't live up to the hype, but it still is an amazing game.

I agree that it does NOT live up to the hype. Its a good game but not as good as people made it sound. If this is the best X-box game then im disappointed.
 
Me and my buddy (roomate) got our copies yesterday. Awesome game so far, but we started on legendary co-op and haven't even gotten off the ship. Ridiculously hard. And now, when one dies, you start form last checkpoint...:mad: It's really really annoying and it sucks! But other than that feature, it's fun, just really really hard on Legendary. I played after class this afternoon on heroic and made it to earth. Seemed waay easier. How far have the rest of you made it?
 
I just tried XBox live for the first time and I'm loving it! There is virtually no lag! You've finally done something right, Microsoft! 👍 You have a fine console there!

This game is great, visually it's very nice but the sound is wonderful too, especially in surround. One things is for sure though, i can understand why Bungie were so protective of the story line. Talk about surprises!!

right then - Im not reading any more posts - Ive just clicked up to where I posted last and read this and I do not want the surprise spoiled for me. I get the game tomorrow. I've just d/l the soundtrack to it, you know the main theme ? Im just in the process of cutting it and d/l it to my phone for a cool ringtone !!!!

So until I play it - enjoy !!!

Oh I heard there is new and improved Blood Glutch! I heard it was longer and had more mountains or something man its sounds like fun!
 
I'll post a review after spending more time with the online and legendary difficulties.

so far, so excellent. My gripes are minor, but one thing I don't like is some of the newer first-person animations (melee, reloading, pulling out a gun). They're not as cool or smooth as the ones in the first, and after playing killzone, I expected better.

Then again, playing killzone is like putting your face in a wood chipper. I regret dropping the cash for it.
 
Some of the levels online are just HUGE!!!! I flew around for quite a while in a match online and still didnt see everything. :dopey:

shoot the **** out of the holo dudes then blast that jerk with a plasma rifle. he drops like a rock.
 
It arrived today, just wanna say thank you bungie, it's even better then I expected. The level of polish in the game is obscene. And dual weapons :D :D :D, nothing says FU then 2 SMGS :D
 
I had a great time online with a friend last night! I was on the blue team and out numbered 6 to 4. Yes I was on the team with only 4 people but we did an incredible job against 6 people. One round I had over 21 kills, my highest ever. Sure were some great times. My friend did pretty darn good for his first time online in Halo 2. Good times. :lol:

for what? cutscenes?

if not, you are wrong. It's a new engine built from scratch. and it doesn't suck, except for the wierd texture popping for the cutscenes.

I was there. And you didn't notice.
I think I had the highest kills on the red team. By more than 10.

Closest match I had was a slayer game, 50 point.
I was in 2nd 38 and the leader got stuck at 49. No matter how hard he tried he just couldn't get that last kill. I won 50 to 49. That was a pretty sad end.
 
I noticed you were there but the talking feature durning the game seems to suck and the lag last night was very frustrating. I heard everybody complaining about it in about 7 rooms that I entered.
 
for some reason, when I get a voice message in live, I can't hear it! what's wrong?
 
back to the HALO story,
The diagnosis called for a cure worse than the disease.
I havent played the sequel but it seems the story has captivated some time rich persons.

No, i mean the fact that controls are pretty much the same and the camera is still amazingly slow. The only upgrades i see are a little more advanced graphics, new content, and better vehicle destruction.
 
Im still not sure about HALO 2 - Its a brilliant brilliant game but I just havent seen the huge battle scenes that were in HALO yet.

Im doing the second mission as the Arbitor and its been really dark and dismal with not much happening - Hopefully there'll be a lot more fighting to come and some big war scenes.

On a positive note I loved the Highway mission and the metropolis - they seem to have put a lot more work into the driving/flying element of the game. I absolutely love the re-vamped ghosts.

It seems to be a LOT harder too - Im starting off on normal level and then moving up to Heroic and Legendary later.

At this point in time though I'd have to say HALO is a lot lot better than HALO 2, I hope after completing the game it doesn't stay the same.

After completing the game, you will still believe the same. 👎 I like Halo2 better than Halo not because of the single player. I like it for Live! Live was excecuted flawlessly in this game and it is MUCH better than I thought and HUGELY addictive. I have grown more attached to other modes besides CTF because of the way matchmaking is set up. Just pay the damn $50 a year for this game. It is $50 well spent. or just sign up monthly for $5.99 per month. Be sure to use your 2 free months from Halo 2. 👍
