HANS Device option

I know that's just a joke, but my overly-analytical streak demands that I point out that 99% of GT5 players would gasp at the price of a HANS device (or a racing helmet, for that matter). At least from their own website, a professional HANS device is just shy of $1000, and the sport ones are still around $640. The other sport series is about $685. While we're on it, helmets on SafeRacer.com look to start in the $170 range but typically several hundred to even $1500.

Not sure why I felt the need to point out the cost of these things, except that I recall shopping around for them before (we're still wanting to get a low-budget racing thing going) and we kinda gasped at the cost of these things.

My full gear setup was close to $2000. Admittedly it could have been done cheaper, but I wanted to make sure I was comfortable, and for example some of those $170 helmets just didn't feel as comfortable, or as well designed, or as likely to keep my brain in the bucket. I believe I paid $645 for the HANS, got a deal on my helmet for $400 (my second one since my first one expired, the standard expires every 10 years), the rest was suit, fireproof underwear, shoes, socks, head sock, and gloves. Plus I installed a 2 way IMSA radio system to my helmet, that setup alone was $120.

I don't mind PD getting sponsors for stuff. I look at it this way.
The more sponsors they get the more free support we get for the game.

That thought (wether true or not) Makes me feel better.

Waist of time?? I think not. Quite frankly if your not involved in racing you would never understand...So leave it at that....If you are involved in racing. get a HANS device. don;t make yourself wish you had one.....

Cars do not get proper damage in GT5, do you really expect that stupid Bob will get any harm from accidents???

No :censored:way... sorry but GT5 is not yet improved to simulate such kind of reality...

Cosmetic wise, I don't give a ****.

In real life, I do agree.

I think a real car enthusiast loves every bit of race. For some people ;) it might be a waste of time but for me it is a very cool addition.
Maybe in the Japanese culture they have more passion even for the race suit they choose, because it is part of the driver.

Just compare the ugly Horza 3 or 4 drivers hands with the boring Horza logo, looks like a squirrel driving. maybe you want that instead?

So everyone that disagrees with you is a retard? It's a pretty rude word to use in any context, but at GTP, accusing other members of it? nice..

I rather wear Hanna around my neck, she smells nice and is a good 40 pounds less heavy :)
