I am happy with the latest announcement of the upcoming DLC.

To be honest, I think that we should be greatful for what we are getting. PD is a much smaller team to that lot creating Frunza 40 or whatever the hell it's called, BUT at the same time they are creating high quality models unlike the opposition!

I think the inclusion of newer models (2011,2012 etc) is brilliant, and shows that PD are wanting to be fresh with the lineup - granted a lot of people would of prefered lots of things other than a couple of Dub's, but hey, your time will come people!

I'm also hoping that the 2012 GT-R will be able to hit the magical 1000bhp figure... why you may ask? Well the answer is simple.... just because :)

So since you don't like it, we shouldn't either?

No but in a balanced forum I would expect less people to be happy with it. I mean what exactly are the modellers at PD doing? They've had a whole year and all they can come up with is four new cars, two of which aren't even new models and one of which evidently was finished quite some time ago?

I hate it how there are more requests for future DLC in the comments section than compliments about it. People just can't appreciate what PD does for us. I think it's a fair deal if you ask me.

People are just too greedy when it comes to new content. It's pretty sad, very sad...

Greedy? As above It's not the cost so much that bothers me, it's the ammount of content they're giving us after a whole year. Sure there have been updates to the software side of things but that doesn't account for the modellers, unless they are the same person.

No. What do four cars (two slightly different versions of those already in the game) add to this year old game now? Are you really going to go and pick it up again for those cars?
I haven't put it down yet. Still awesome to many of us.

Looking at the poll results so far I guess the answer is yes, most of the GT Planet sheep will buy anything PD give them.
Sorry, I wants it. :D

Last I heard, working on a little something called GT6... you know, with cars that take months to finish, and tracks, up to two years... just sayin'.

The Golf R, Scirrocco R and 2012 GT-R are good additions. A little disappointed it's only a few cars but for the sake of £3 odd you can't grumble really.

If you're that disappointed, don't buy it.

Well quite simply they need to rethink their work process because those lengths of time are clearly too large. Also let's not forget about the assets they already have but haven't made use of, namely all of the tracks lost from older games. Could they really not have spruced those up and added them to GT5 in the last year? But of course if they add them to GT6 everyone will be happy, even though they bash Forza for what they believe also do with their assets.

Yes, any DLC that adds more premium road cars will make me happy.

However I would have loved the Test Course shown in the Spec 2 intro (for machine testing like previous GT's) to be included with it.

I don't know. Have you tried something similar and have something to share with the class?

No but common sense suggests it doesn't take anywhere near the same amount of time to upgrade a track than it does to make one from scratch. They had time to tidy up and include 800 cars from the older series, surely in the space of the last year plus the original development time they could have done the same with a couple of old tracks at the very least.

I stated in another thread that as a whole it's a letdown to me. Why does every DLC or give away have to include a GTR? I like the 2012 GTR being included as I love the cars but what about giving us some of the cars we've asked for like Aventador, Diablo, Audi R18 etc. I want to feel I'm spending my money on car packs that are actually appealing top to bottom. A Mini? A Prius racer? Etc. I think we are just going to get nickel and dimed to death by PD now. Sadly it appears that the majority posting are fine with that.

That being said I like the wheels change for standards and the fix for racing sounds that is if it fixes the Vettes horrible sounds et al. Dont really want that car pack though even with the GTR. GTR overload.

How bout a 360 modena, Diablo SV, AM V8, newer RUF's etc instead of consistently lame additions like the Mini and Prius?

One thing they could be doing is improving the track maker for GT6, perhaps allowing much better courses than before. This would be a total win in my eyes.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I prefer the lower range cars to the big ones. They breed closer racing & more tuning possibilities which can make them sleepers against the big boys.

People are naturally complacent. If you gave someone a Ferrari they would probably complain if it wasn't red....
Same thing works here. What started as "We want more premium cars" changed to "We want more non Japanese premium road cars" after the first DLC. Now people are saying "We want more non Japanese exotic premium road cars." Do you guys even remember what we were asking for less then 4 months ago?
The more people get the more they want, I'm just happy that they're giving people who want more content and can live without one coffee the chance to do so. As someone said before- "That's less per car then Matchbox ..."

Price is not the problem, I prefered spend 12 euros and buy a set of cars TOGETHER WITH new tracks, let's say a couple of reskinned GT4 tracks or stuff like that, but no. So, no tracks + meh cars = no money from me. The previous DLC was better.

And no, reskinning a couple of tracks doesn't take years really.

How bout a 360 modena, Diablo SV, AM V8, newer RUF's etc instead of consistently lame additions like the Mini and Prius?
Yep. Couldn't agree more. But soon you'll get some fanboys biting your neck, get ready.

Yeah, the only possible explanation to me is that PD is having licensing problems. Can be the reason why we get those cars. I think licenses from Japanese manufacterers are pretty cheap in comparison with Ferrari or Lamborghini. Or they are extreme patriotic @PD studios :dopey:

I cant find any other explanation.

I can. Keeping the real goodies for the next GT.

Actually I have no idea. What you have to do is
  • Tell me the size of the modeling staff.
  • Tell me just what they're tasked with doing over the past four years.
  • Figure out within that scenario just how long you think it would take to model 20 or so Premium track locations and 200-plus Premium cars, while also tuning up a number of legacy tracks and cars to work in the GT5 Engine along with the Premium content.
  • Don't forget work on Tourist Trophy and GT PSP, which had the entire team tied up at at least one stretch.
And then offer some sort of indication, at least, that you know what you're talking about, rather than pulling something out of a hip vent.

It's good, but still misses tracks for the cars. Are the cars rebuyable? I am so buying then multiple times. I like the 3 cars, a little bit close to none, but they are brand new.

(3 cars does not count the Mini Cooper and Nissan GTR already in the game)

The VW Golf and Scirocco were needed. The GTR and Cooper are maybe faster, but the same.

I do not want anymore fast cars. I want the game only to have slow ones, killing the no tcs rooms.

If licences is the problem they should look for less famous cars, something like Morgan or Weismann
and why not, a couple of supercars like Zenvo and Marussia. Not exactly Porsches, Ferrari Lambos but still (very) interesting cars nonetheless. So I'm not sure licences IS the problem, it's more what they were thinking. Ok the Scirocco, Ok the CR-Z but the "new" Mini and the Prius "race car" are kind of lame. And of course the lack of tracks is the biggest letdown this time. Indeed, seems like they are just giving lame stuff now and "save" the goodies for GT6. Which is not necessarily a good deal for us. With future titles like rFactor 2, GTR3 and pCARS, there will be more than one reason to buy a gaming Pc instead of PS4/Xbox720. The main problem of this gen consoles is they only have a single AAA+ racing title each.

lol right, lt's kind of the opposite considering how almost everyone here b:censored: about everything in the game, PD does DLC, everyone goes "boo, want to steal money... blah...blah..." PD doesn't do DLC, everyone goes "boo, we want more stuff in the game" PD add CARS, people go "boo... I want more and FREE" welcome to the world in which games rely more in DLC and Developers abandon games without fixing the crap in them, PD is doing a great job fixing problems, adding more features and new content, don't wanna pay for it? no one is forcing you 👍

You're the exact person that the quote is talking about, I hope you realize that. When players were saying they want DLC, they expected something with a bit more effort. I mean this is coming from Polyphony Digital, a first party developer for the PlayStation 3. If their competition can provide 10+ cars a month, that are all unique and original to their game, then I don't see why PD can't do the same, and this is with two months in between DLC. PD is not even trying.

Of course PD is also the same developer that thinks its acceptable to shove half finished content into its games now. So who knows what kind of developer they are nowadays. When I think of 1st party developer actually, Polyphony is not a developer I would consider anymore. Not like I did during the PlayStation 2 days. It's been sad seeing them stumble and fall over the last few years.

Based on this info:
"As of March 26, 2011, Gran Turismo 5 sold over 6.3 million units"

And the above poll, about 2.1 million are not happy with the DLC.

Do you really think Grand Valley, Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, Autumn Ring are "premium" tracks? They just swapped old GT4 textures with better ones, still a couple of them are straight from GT4. But who cares really, that's not a problem. Problem is they don't even bother releasing them on DLC. They are saving too many stuff for GT6.

I also hope in a DLC with an E30 M3, new RUF's, Historic Cars.. etc..

..but each DLC is welcome..
I like the two new VeeDub .. and other cars are always welcome..

I've been going back and forth on this one with myself, and i'm not sure it's a problem that they are saving stuff for GT6. I guess what it really comes down to is this, are they going to release GT6 for the PS3? If yes, then I guess I really don't care. But if we aren't getting GT6 for a real long time, and it'll be on a next gen console, then I don't know. More tracks to help with what is likely to be a very long wait, would be nice.

PD's backlog list must be high, or perhaps they're saving the highest end cars for GT6....Or something. I am still waiting for more US car DLC (only saw a Challenger RM).
