OK, I have done some looking around. I like the Full mode. Very nice.

Nearly everything is wonderful.

I missed the New Posts switch, but I think that would have been a minor annoyance for me. I would have gotten over it in about an hour. And any convo threads lost.....probably for the better, even if I did participate in the premium one.

Everything seems great and I hope this is reaching your vision.

I only have a couple of minor niggles:

When viewing subscribed threads in My GTPlanet I love being able to click on most recent posts and seeing who posted recently. That works great.
But, the nature of my job means I walk away before checking on all new threads and it is sometimes long enough that they are no longer new. So I click on View All Subscribed Threads. When I do that I no longer see the last person to post or have the ability to the last post. It's worked around by clicking on the last page, but if it is one response the last post is just convenient.

The only other thing is I do not see any kind of official link to the photo galleries. By following my Rabbit pictures link in my sig I see they still exist. Is this a sign that the galleries are going away or just not as prominent? Or am I blind. Mainly I am curious because at some point I will get my lazy butt to post my Mid-Ohio pictures. I don't want to waste time if the galleries are going away.

Like I said, minor things that I can easily adapt to.

Lol, just found something wrong with the gallery :)
It shows ads, even though i'm logged in.

(oh, and i'm sorry that i don't have anything positive to say)

Yeah but its good to get feedback from all his members who are here a lot of the time. I know personally when you have a design and people moan and criticise its gets a bit annoying but to be honest you need to listen to users and tweak what they suggest if you want successful operation.

Is it that easy to go back and change it? I might have been wrong in thinking that we were finding everything with his "masterpiece" that would be a pain to go back and change.

Very nice new skin to GTP, good job everyone.

Time to fix that avvie Sting.

Speaking of which, where did you get your avatar Jordan?

Probably Carwalls.

Looks like a lot of the buttons in the "reply to thread" box are different too. Didn't recognize the link button or any others.

There Sting, got you covered, its FULLY transparent.

Loving this look Jordan. However, color-wise I think making that top banner be a very dark blue rather than black would look a little better. It does kind of lack some color. I also agree with integrating the planet symbol in there somewhere, because I LOVE that logo! While speaknig of logos, if you could make "gtplanet" have a metallic look (silver/gray) I feel it would also improve the appearance subtly.

Other than those few things, I'm liking it a lot so far. GranTurismoTV sounds look a good plan (will this be GT-only or can members maybe have their own channels?). A new GTPremium badge that fits in with the new theme would also be nice.

I've honestly never had a real complaint about anything you have done here, Jordan, but I wish you hadn't closed the Premium chat thread. I felt that it was a fun, laid back place (like most of the Premium forum tends to be) where the paying members could joke about. Please bring it back.

I feel the same as Eric, what he has recommended is pretty much the same as the tweaks I suggested, and I also was a bit miffed as to why the premium conversation thread was shut down, it was one neat thread as apposed to loads that are now going to be created for this and that...

Although, for actual questions, not having the convo thread might be the better choice because you would get more than three replies before it trails way off topic/somebody puts in something totally random. But then again, that is what the "Ask GTP" thing is for.

Oh yes, I totally agree with that, if its important and not some random chatting then a new thread is better and I think the members could judge when a new thread was appropriate or not but now they have no choice to think... "hmm this is only lite chit chat il put it in the conversation thread..."

One of the things I don't like that no one has covered (for example, the all gray motif and silly buttons along the top have already been discussed) is the "Welcome, XXXXX" box in the top corner. In GTP8 there was no gradient in the background. However, now it is pure white on top of a white to gray gradient, and it looks pretty bad, to be honest.
I also find that the alignment of all of the personal data to the left is rather...bleh, and the movement of the name of the last poster to be immediately alongside the "Go To last page" link has already caused me to click the wrong things 6 times times.

The Welcome box you've described is actually a solid color - a visual illusion is created when it is displayed on top of the gradient in the page background. I may look into tweaking that area...

I think they want the Planet logo back mate, while your here....
:irked:👍

It has probably been answered elsewhere, but I can't seem to find it - Any chance of getting our Premium badges back ?...

I also was a bit bugged by this part, I'm glad that the new posts switch made a reappearance though

I know it is pure white. I'm just saying that it sticks out because the background is not pure white.

Actually it was mentioned in post 172. :D

The Premium icons have returned. I seriously doubt I will center align the user information next to posts, and including the planet alongside the logo in the header would be too much. The 'planet' is still very much part of our "official" logo, but it's not something that I felt was needed in the header on every page. Notice that the favicon - the small image next to the URL or in the tab on your browser, has not changed.

I must say though, I think the pages are loading quicker.
Definitely, I've got several downloads running at the moment and the site is running much faster than the old version was. When I'm not downloading the pages were pretty quick regardless.
