I don't agree that the logo on top would look to much. On the contrary, it now looks to dull and empty.
And the favicon is way to small to let the logo stand out and really be noticable.

They are probably just now showing up if you are using one of the Full styles.

Thankyou jordan :)

..what are your thoughts about the globe logo at the top of the page?... everyone really wants it back...

I like the new style, it's gonna take a while to get used to, & I didn't like the sidebar, but as there's an option to remove it, that's fine! I also miss the GTPlanet logo, it kinda made the site more unique.

I've just been looking at GTP as a guest, & I have gotta admit those huge sponsor ads underneath every 1st post are very annoying, I presume members get them.

No, members don't get them, only guests.

Me likey! It takes a little getting used to (mainly the bits that used to have more significant borders. I absolutely love the store and TV pages too - I never really saw a use for the store page, but now it's a little more than just a display for cafepress stuff it makes much more sense. And I like the gttv.com domain too 👍. And wordpress is a welcome change from subdreamer - far more bloggy. I'm going to stop now or I may go on forever.

(...and the FamFamFam silk icons. They somehow get better everytime I see them)

EDIT

The one thing I don't like is the way the wiki seems to have been kinda... shoehorned in there. It's like... identical to the standard theme but with the GTP theme around it.

One other visual suggestion, if you will. The thread creator's name is kind of hidden against the background. Black or a darker gray would help distinguish it more.

The only thing that I will always bitch about is the fact that the user title, avatar, and personal info are not centered. It seriously kills the look of any avatar, and the forum would look a ton cleaner if they were centered, well in my opinion anyway. Other than that, the new look is bearable.

Do you have something against things being centered Jordan

When I first saw the new layout, to be honest, I really disliked it. Made surfing alot harder due to the brighter look of the site. I decided to hold my initial thoughts and give myself a day or two to get used to the new layout.

Now I'm happy to say it looks great! :D:tup:

I don't see any "last edited by", even if I give a reason for editing. I usually use JavaScript off, in case that makes a difference.

The Wiki looks shoehorned because it kinda... was. Customizing a MediaWiki installation is about as fun as chewing on nails. :ouch: I also hope that a more familiar appearance (in relation to Wikipedia) will encourage people to edit the wiki more.

It's very light in color because I don't want it to interfere with reading/scanning thread titles. The thread creator isn't really that relevant anyway, but you can still see who it was if you really want to know - hence the light color.

Nothing against them - I've had them centered for more than 3 years now in GTP7 and 8. I just find it easier and more comfortable to glance over and see the username, because your eye can always rely on it being in the same "place".

It should still be there. Remember, if you edit a post within two minutes of posting it, that note won't be displayed at all.

Holy crap! How do you even use the Internet without JavaScript?!

You're one of those phantoms we web developers have to consider, but never actually see in action...

Also, I think I need a new, bling avatar to suit the new GTP9. The high-def. car pics look hot in this arena now. :D

Jordan - I don't feel like trudging through another eighty posts of this thread right now, but thanks for the badges back!

I just realized that what looks just black in the top banner actually has a carbon fibrish weave in it. Nice touch. 👍

GTP9 is really starting to grow on me !...

And thanks for re-installing the Premium Badges Jordan - Much appreciation going your way 👍

Invisible +Reps to Jordan for GTP9 ;-)

Like This. Excellent stuff when browsing through untrustworthy sites, and when you need Javascript - it's just a click away.

Bug found! My 'My GTPlanet' page has posts and threads mixed up. I'm subscribed to the Local Gatherings forum, and I'm seeing that the forum has 5399 threads with 44 posts total. :ouch::lol:

Personally I think the design is a step in the right direction but at the same time a step backwards. I like the clean look and the freshness the design has but it feels far too thrown together and choppy. It reminds me of a stereotypical web 2.0 design. The issue of course is that web 2.0 is not about the design at all but rather about the content and I feel the usability of the site has gone down.

But that's just me.
