Im just curious for you guys which one is it? For me I tried the ruf BTR (GTPSP) around the TGTT. It is a textbook definition of oversteer. It has them all, lift oversteer, power oversteer, brake in oversteer. Yet its sooomuch fun to drive.

That stupid go kart. One bump by the AI and you're into the wall. You pretty much have to drive a flawless race to win 1st place.

Bugatti Veyron - Handles like a pig :(, Lamborghini Murcielago SV - Handles like a greasy weasel

I love the SV. It is much more polite than the LP 640. It only has throttle oversteer. The LP640 has snap brake oversteer and lift off oversteer and understeer. It has much better traction. Although for the money it is not all that fast.

Im towing with the lotus 111R on the top gear track. Its as if it has glass tyres. Odd since in prologue it was sublime??? I managed to spin this thing going 20mph and been carefull with the loud pedal. If this was really the case it would hold the record for most pedestrians killed. Everytime someone turned at traffic lights they would spin onto the pavement and kill an old couple and a lady with a pram?

but it is on the worst tires on the game for that race. The BTR i tried on sport mediums and was all over the place.

Ditto too this! I actually got fried out and left the challenge because of that darn cars handling, or lack of. Like skateboarding on an ice rink. Anyone have a secret there?

So far the Lotus on Top Gear event has been the only one that gave me any problems.

the 54 Mercedes in the rain took a couple of trys to get a handle on but after I figured out the grip I was doing just fine in it.

Ditto, everything else was easy. That Lotus in the Top Gear event oversteers like a mofo though.

Hardest car I've driven in the game is not the lotus, with proper tires that car rocks. No it's gotta be theF40 or the RUF yellowbird, F40 is fast, agile and very oversteery, and the yellowbird is just an oversteering beast, both can be driven very fast though but they're always borderline death machines.

greasy weasel BAHAHA I'm going to be having giggling fits all afternoon!

I actually have an easier time driving the Veyron than the Audi R8 5.2 V10 FSI Quattro '09 which I heard was supposed to handle really well.

Another vote here for the Top Gear elise riding on tires that were given a non-stick coating.

I gotta get the F40 and try my GT5p tune on it, it had made it into a good grip car for me then.

I too love my wayward jellybean blue BTR.... I suspect once I have chance to tweak it and put it in for a bit of chassis restoration it'll be fully tameable though. My fully tuned BTR in GT4 was my favorite 'ring toy....LOVE that car.

Having said that I'm with everyone else....that damned Elise in the TG challenge is a royal pain (using the controller anyways.) I've driven an Elise on a racetrack and it is not that twitchy....not by a long shot.

I do, I actually tried this challenge like thousand times for Gold place then I decided to switch the anti-skid on in driving option, eventually I went for Gold. But if you challenge it without anti-skid or TC then you'll have to try harder than Stig.

My hardest car to drive was Zonda R in wet Nurburg even it has wet tyres!

Wish I would have saved the replay of it but I got gold on it on about my 10th try. The car is difficult to handle to say the least you really have to understand the dynamics of a MR car to get it around the track. I can give a bit of advice but it will be geared towards individuals utilizing wheels.

Left foot brake under power into corners (especially the 1st corner and even the follow through) and try to avoid braking at all cost when you are not headed in a straight line. Same goes for the accelerator, do not put it to the floor unless your car is straight. Modulate the throttle smoothly and never abruptly lift off the accelerator on this car or you'll find the rear end coming out.

Turn the sound up and listen for the tires and engine RPM's to climb in the corners, that's the best advice I can give you to help you feel the car and it's rear end grip.

The follow through can be taken almost flat out but if you are gentle with the brakes and brake under power you can take a controlled slide through there and it's a very fast line. The Bentley corner can be taken flat out and should be so use ALL of the track for the controlled slide and try to keep the rear end from coming around too much on you so you don't fish tail into bacharach.

Over all just be gentle with all inputs and remember to make all the weight transfers on the car as smooth as possible so it doesn't upset the cars grip too much.

Man, I wish the Lotus was the hardest car to drive, because after a nice bit of practice I owned that Top Gear event. It'd be nice to know that's as hard as it gets.

Trying to get the Shelby Cobra around Laguna Seca without any assists was a handful. It felt a bit like holding a bomb. Just a touch too much of anything, and it's over.

Depends on 2 things - driver aids and tires.

Someone said that everything is good with tires, and that's probably true - although that just means the limit is further out. At the limit the car can be just as tricky, even with a good set of tires.

Also, with ASM almost anything is manageable. That Lotus in the TGTT event is very challenging without traction control or stability control, but with those items turned on you might as well be driving Need for Speed.

I think the first commenter mentioned the RUF. The oversteer on Porsches can be a bit rough to manage. I run time-trials at local track events with a 964-generation 911 (non-turbo), and even that is better than the 930-generation RUF in the game. Even so, you always have to be controlling the back end - minimal trail braking, lots of maintenance throttle, and almost no tail sliding (even if you can control it, it's just slower with that car).

I turned some of the driving aids back on and im doing a lot better. Ill guess your like me and turn them all off on day 1 and forget em?

Bugatti Veyron handles like a pig? Yes, if you do not tune it. I had to finetune it and now it drives like a dream, really happy with it now.
Is it possible on every car to finetune it for perfect handling? I've managed it with a few cars. Working on shelby cobra atm, but i haven't found the right settings yet.
