Hardest License Test?

I found these license tests almost too easy to get Bronze in (what I mostly go for, especially in IA and S). I don't remember any being too hard although one frm GT3 does stand out.....the GT-One around Cote D'Azur. Yuk

I found S-16 easy, Silver on first attempt, completing Mission #34 before hand helped helped. And I was chuffed to get Gold by more than a second on one of the IA tests where you race around part of Chamonix, first time I finished it!

To beat S-15 by more than 12secs is nuts.....might have to watch that a few more times!

For the past 3-4 days I despaired of ever getting gold on IA-16 the R92 at Sarthe. I hovered between 1.5 to 2 seconds too slow and saw no way to improve. Today it suddenly clicked! Ran 4-5 runs, each getting a few tenths better and wow GOLD by .2 seconds. Trick for me was staying complete off the rumble strips (except the first corner) and not going full throttle until the car was perfectly straight to the track. Seems slower than cutting the corners and stomping on it, but its not! 11 more Super's to go!!!

80 golds, Most difficult for me, in order from the hardest:

The slaloms, both of them.

Chamonix full lap. Round and round we go, 'cause we're too STUPID to slow down for the turns! :banghead:

Nissan at LeMans

The red Audi at Deep Forest

The first guide lap at Tsukaba. I just hated that track, could not find consistent turn-ins and brake points.

I'm talking about difficutly getting gold. I had no problem with bronze on any of the tests.

I golded S-16 on my second complete lap. Note that I did NOT say second attempt. :irked:

I have not yet finished them all (About 56 gold and 24 silver I think) but I would agree with most of these. Chamonix I fluked when going for silver. I have not yet done the slaloms and suspect they will be last. And the others you mention took a while to do.

i think the r34 gtr on the lil corner at fuji was a real b****
took me a few days
i didnt have any problems with the rest

hehe yeah that one was annoying, also the nissan @ la sarthe, still it took all of 1-2 days to get all golds excluding the last one (due to the fact that you have to wait ~2mins between attempts not 0 like most others and i clocked up about 5 hours non stop till i got it :) .
Some people say 'grrrh ive tried 50 times already and i cant do it' all i have to say is dont complain until after youve tried 200+. (thats about how many times i tried the skyline one :P).
Most took less than 5 mins tho, surprisingly alot of the S ones did aswell.
IMO the easiest GT for getting gold licences by far, if fact i pretty much got 100% in 2-3weeks of getting the game (got all golds when i was bored around 25% completion)

Oh and my advice for rally, unlearn what you have learned :sly: just n00b it around hitting walls etc and you can beat gold easily, try it properly and come in 5 seconds off it....

Funny thing is when I was silvering the licenses I took ages on this one (15-20 attempts).

Came back about a month later and golded it after about 5 tries.

Absolutey. I doubt I'll reach 100%, because I hated the ice license tests, so a whole race on ice has to REALLY suck.

Wall-sliding allows you win Gold by big margins on all Ice/Snow courses. When you get to the main races, save some money and buy the Mitsubishi Super Rally Car. It's a world above any other rally car and will save you a lot of anxiety.

Personally, I found the Chaminoix(?) rally with the Peugeut 206 in the S license difficult. Mainly because the failure requirements seemed to be random! One time, you could slam into the side and get away with it then, 100yrds down the track, you could just brush a blade of grass and get a fail!

i agree and i havent gotten past it yet >.> its the only test(besides the final) that i havent finished lol

Edit: its the second or third to last o.0

With only 4 "easy" golds to do I think Suzuka took the longest, only because you have to darn near perfect on the 2nd half of the course to beat the gold time. But the hardest for me was S1, Twin Ring with the Civic Race Car. I almost gave up after 5-6 hours with no progress at all. Stuck at .517 over for what seemed an endless number of runs. Then all of a sudden I got to .3 then .1 then beat it in three straight runs.

Currently on S12 as well. 0.6 seconds slower than the gold time. I need to get about 1 tenth more at each corner. Hard when 4 out of five runs I stuff up the right hander at the top of the hill.
I need to re read that lisence write up again.

i hate the licence tests where you have to follow the pace car. that car is too slow sometimes and i find myself haveing to back off the accelerator on a long straight just to avoide hitting or passing it.

The hardest test to me was S-12 the one at suzuka in the Super test. (I've only settled for gold) I got 80 gold and all 34 missions before I did one race. I got a bug around 34% and it whiped out my whole garage, ie. Ford Model T, The Nissan from mission 34 and all other cars. I started over again and am on S-16 w/all coffee breaks and still think the suzuka is the hardest. :scared:

I really can't get anywhere near gold on too many of them, so I really don't think I will go for it, kudos to anyone who made/makes it though. Once I figured out to wallride the ice tests I can get gold on them easily. For me the hardest ones I have been through are the slalom tests on IB-6 and IB-7. I don't even touch any of the cones but yet they fail me. :grumpy:

I've just been through and Silvered all the license tests, am definitely not good enough to Gold them all although did pick up 19 on the way by accident!

I found the hardest to Silver (eek!) was the Audi R8 at Infineon. Took me about 2hrs although did it in about 0.3 secs off the Gold time when I finally did it. I dread to think how many times I came up the hill and went off on the first corner....or the second right hander at the top of the hill

golded s licance some of IA and all of B i started with S licenc then B then IA bit random but hey....

Out of the ones so far i found (forgive me for not knowing their names) the one at suzuka with the NSX racecar, the one at SS5 with the saleen hard, but the hardest one i found so far is on B i think with the mini around fuji! that annoyed me for hours....how i hate those fake mini's.

Did anyone else find this, but i found B license harder than S although i tried too gold it after i had golded my S license? odd i know

That one license in B was harder to gold than some super licenses, but overall, S was harder to gold than B.

Oh, and a word of inspiration to people like speedbird who got all silvers... trust me, its possible to get all golds. You have the skill. I thought I couldn't do it either, and next thing you know, theres a Model T sitting in my garage

But then I have a life outside Gran Turismo :P If it takes me 2hrs to get Silver on ONE test I really can't be bothered to do that for another 60 odd tests! But then again after doing the license tests I did complete a few Missions (29-31) within about 30mins. Definitely some positive effects on your driving as a result.

I think S has the potential to be easier than B because the tests are a lot longer and allow for a few small mistakes to occur and you can still get Gold. If your time quota is only 17seconds it gives a lot less margin for error.

Don't give me that "I have a life" garbage. All I'm saying is if you have enough time to get silver, you have enough time in your life to get gold.

:grumpy: Well I really don't have the time! Am out of the country most weeks although this was a one off weekend. Can't take my PS2 out on the road!

lol okay, sorry. But to everyone else then i guess, if u got the time (and a buncha silvers) you can totally do it. Sorry if i sucked at turning this thread into inspiration

:) Well as you work on Silvers you do improve so no reason (time excepting :sly: ) why you couldn't get Gold.

I didn't bother with the later Coffee breaks. Did the first two to Gold but that maze in S license :scared:

With the exception of the IA one, the CBs were not hard. IA was very frustrating took me many efforts to turn silver into gold.

After hitting 100% I am now Golding the S-licences and really tearing through them. Now at 76 Golds with 4 to go; SS5, Suzuka, Le Sarthe & 'Ring. (fyi I have not done them in numerical order just picked them off as I have felt though I will leave S-16 until last because that would be the best way to complete all golds.

Now I KNOW I can hit Golds at Le Sarthe & 'Ring; I know the tracks well, eg done M34, and first attempts just to get the S-licence were Silvers and not that far from Gold. I had a few goes on Suzuka yesterday and was getting quite close, I know it's within me.

However SS5 was giving me a lot of grief, I have actually left it alone to do others and will need to revisit. So SS5 will go down either as the hardest or the most annoying.

Kudos to all those people getting golds... I'm at like 20 or so :D They are all hard to me lol, they just get harder everytime haha
