Has anybody reached lvl 40 in both A- and B-spec yet?

In Bspec I see it doable.

In A-spec it will be a long, long, long insane journey. Currently at 37.

I'm one 24 Hrs of Le Mans away from B-spec Level 40. A-spec Level 40? Maybe before GT6 come out as I'm not racing any endurance race more than once.

I will be at b-spec level 40 tomorrow. Ill run that next 24 hour Nurburgring then shut my system off for the first time in weeks. I'm at level 25 A-spec and have little interest in doing the endurance races.

Exactly, I just thought about that it must really be a long way to lvl 40 in a-spec, I think that the seasonal bonus races will do it for a lot of players, but offcause we will have to wait to at least bonus race no. 30 or something like that untilwe have enough xp..

I don't want to count, but i think it's over 30m exp needed from lvl 30 to lvl 40 in b-spec, so it's the same for a-spec.
Season event 3 gives about 250k exp... maybe 300k. So that's 100 seasonal events to do, even if you have a lvl 30 already. 2 weeks for one event, so 200 weeks or 3.8 years.
American Championship oval grinding is 5m = 4.5k exp. To get 30m exp there, you'll need to repeat it 6666.666 times, that's 555 hours.

I don't know what PD thought.. really. With current exp rates and seasonal events lvl 35 should've been the max one.

Or, or, maybe PD didnt want you to complete the game in the first 2 months of its release.

Is reaching level 40 so "satisfying" that you would have nothing to do afterwards. The whole leveling thing is a pain. After level 30, I was finally able to forget about it. It feels good.

Running endurance races in a-spec are painful

Thats because people get the fastest car, way above the competition *coughx1cough* and run the track for a few hours. Maybe if you actually tried to make it fair, and challenge yourself, you will be fighting the whole race, making it go by rather quickly.

None of us know what car will be awarded at level 40. Super X1 anyone?

Problem is PD has always liked to put one uberfast car in the pack, en 10 mediocre ones. There is no fun fighting one car.

Audi R10 is the prize for the Nurburgring 24H race. It's been done, check the sticky.

Also, I don't know how time goes by more quickly with a slower car, considering in the X1 you can park the car about 2/3 or 3/4 through the race and walk away since you're so far ahead.

I was talking about how no one knows if there is a prize for level 40, I was not talking about the 24 hour.

Also, if you want to make it easy be my guest, i was simply stating how to make it more fun.

The prize is a 24 level Ticket, and since there are only 3 or 4 level 24 cars in the game...

Grind 500+ hours on the same oval = complete the game?
How about 3x more races and maybe.. you know, challenges or something?
And not ones that requires you to have no life or don't turn off PS3 for a week. Yes, i'm talking about 24 hour races in a-spec. There's not that many people who can play 24 hour straight ot even 2 times for 12 hours. So if you are playing 3 hours each day (which is a lot for some people already) you'll have to have PS3 on for 8 days and you won't be able to use it i other ways (blu-ray movies, other games etc).
As i said before in some other thread, this insane leveling system, just as b-spec, is just an illusion to make game look not that uber short (125 or so a-spec races, including those insane 24hr ones, 90% can be done (golded) in 40 - 50 hours).

So someone has reached level 40 to find that out?

That's a myth, especially for some of the endurance races. Try the 300km Grand Valley or the Laguna Seca 200 miles. Those 2 have very close competition with 300-340 hp (GV) and 400-450 hp (LS), and both at reasonable length of about 2 hours+.
Or the Suzuka 1000 with all Super GT-cars (which is tedious at about 6 hours, I admit).

I'm also pretty sure that the Nürburgring 4h (which is next on my list) will not require you to bring some Le Mans Racer. A decent race car in the 500hp range will be enough for that so you won't be laps ahead and get bored after 15 minutes.

There's really no need to bring out the big guns for those races.

Why are people so obsessed with reaching Level 40 as soon as possible anyway? You'll get there eventually by enjoying yourself in the game. With every race you get some points, so it's bound to happen one day. And without grinding.

Same is true for b-spec. Why are people complaining about b-spec being pointless and then playing it? Either they have an inexplicable need to get all trophies or they are masochists. Personally, I love it, and trying out how cars perform in those endurance races is great fun when you try to get the best performance out of it and your drivers and don't just enter a car and then go do something else.

I dont think it's an insane leveling system. I think its a leveling system designed knowing there are some people who will be playing GT5 until GT6 comes out and some people who will be playing it for a couple of months at best.

Why shouldn't the long term player have something more to aim for than the more casual player. The 24 hour races are placed at such a high level because the sort of person that is going to be running them is the sort of person who will spend the months required to reach that level.

At the same time the top level of the game cannot be set to something that a casual player would ever reach or else there would be no reward for the people who put so much more time into the game.

Yes the 24 hour races are going to take dedication to complete (I'm planning on 4 hours a night for 6 nights when I reach them.) but just because the vast majority of players are never going to do that is no reason not to have them. They are a reward for the small number of people who will.

Agreed, I ran the Laguna Seca endurance in a mini cooper S. Car selection has everything to do with how much fun you are going to have in the endurance races. Pick a monster that is going to grab first place on the first corner and destroy the field and obviously your going to be bored running the same track for 4 hours. Pick something that is going to have you fighting to hold first place for the entire race and you will be amazed just how much fun and how fast 4 hours can go.

I got a Formula GT. Fortunately it was in a different colour to the one that I had already purchased.

if all you get is a FGT, I doubt I will persue anything past 35 to get the X1. I bought my FGT last week. my L28 bob has ran the indy 500 3 times now to try to get to 30.

I also have no desire to do anything over ~an hour in aspec, I just dont have the free time to devote to it all at once. a 24 hour race would take me weeks if I paused it all the time to do other things.

I don't want to risk to drive for 24 hours and not win. That's why I need an X2010.

I'm level 35 in both, currently running Le Mans 24 hours in b-spec. I don't know why but I feel compelled to get to level 40 and get the platinum trophy. I don't care if the reward is minimal, I just want to do it for myself.

I'm really not too concerned with it, I'm just going to keep playing normally and it will come eventually.

I more just want to get all the cars I want.

Exactly, do it for yourself, the same situation is my "problem", I've completed all the earlier GT games, so a lot of boring 24h races can't stop me! :)

I agree, to make the Enduros more interesting choose something closer to the competition. For the 4H Nurburgring I did a couple of tests with various cars to see what was close then did the thing for real. In the end I chose the CLK Touring Car (because it handles wonderfully and is easy on tyres). I lapped the lead AI for the second time on the start finish straight at the end of the last lap, so I maybe over did the power just a touch. But the race was fun. Next time I'll go for something with a little less power.

Using the FGT or a Minolta would have made it an exciting 10 seconds then a boring 4 Hours!

On the Laguna Seca 200miles I did it once to see how far ahead I finished. Did some calcs and decided to give the competition a 25 minute headstart (about 10 laps) by pulling off track in the first corner. I won by 3 seconds, passing the lead car just before the last corner on the last lap. Phew that was close and lots of fun!

I got the game more than 2 weeks late and am already lvl 34/33, 7/9 enduros each, and all gold licenses. Hoping to be lvl 40 on both before February :)

Once you get to level 30 and unlock the S Vettel challenge, you'll get a good bit of XP there. I got gold on Monza, and bronze on the two and that got me to level 33.

Not too concerned with getting to level 40 quickly. I doubt I'll do the endurance races unless they give us the option to save, and Im done with everything else in A-spec. So now I spend my time racing online, setting up cars, or doing the seasonal events.

Just buying a new car and taking it to the Nurburgring is still enough to keep me playing at the moment. I don't care if Im not gaining xp, or earning credits anymore. I just like driving the cars 👍
