I think Todd has skipped out on and screwed everyone who sent him money.

Just found this on FB

This is a page for people who were ripped off by Cannon Simulation Technologies (CST). CST is owned by Todd Cannon, who has been taking orders requiring a minimum 50% deposit, but then never delivers a product.

Here's a thread at iRacing

Sorry Mayaman.

Mayaman,

Tony Pearce, a former cohort of Todd's now is making the CST line down in Australia. From what I know though, NOT the shifter, just the pedals & some other things.

And Todd has skipped town. Many on iRacing are contacting the Oklahoma State Attorney Generals office to get a case on him. Not 100% how that is coming along, just letting you know.

Also, he screwed Tony out of a bigger 5 figure sum........ Tony has a site www.fivestarsimulations.com But nothing on the shifter. That was Todd's deal. I agree how can he flake like that. Simply flabbergasted.

Stunning, simply stunning how you can throw away your reputation as a man like that and steal from hard working people. This isn't a situation of someone down on their luck stealing to feed his family here. I'm so pissed right now. The $250 is not a lot of money but I HATE BEING TAKEN FOR A SUCKER!

I'd also encourage all to file a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center - http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx when having issues like this. Probably not going to get you your money back but it can't hurt. Perhaps it will help keep someone else from getting ripped off not to mention at least getting the scumbags name on a list of scumbags.

Mayaman, sorry to say but you are screwed. :( You're not alone, there are dozens of people out for even more money than you, people paying in full for his pedals ($800 and up) and some, like was mentioned, even more. Sorry man.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that probably what happened was that Todd got on drugs. Its the only thing I've seen that would take a successful business like this and destroy it from within. Once you're hooked, nothing else matters and the slide is inevitable.

Believe you and me Mayaman, I almost fell for it too. Sounded good when I inquired about the 3 GT Pedal w/ stand set. This was Jan/Feb of last year. This was right when I started to read his lead time was +-5-6 months, and some longer.

Before I pulled the trigger, I pm'ed 2 on iRacing. They were utterly disgusted Todd was not replying, but easily answering my inquiries to purchase a set with the same email address. From there, I did not buy from him, and now am relieved I did not.

Trust me, there are plenty of people that are in your shoes also. Sad to see really. Drugs are my suspicion, but it also could be an insurmountable debt as well. He did buy a Ferrari.......

Anybody know where in Oklahoma this guy is located? I have a lot of close friends in local law enforcement.

I'm just a little annoyed nobody spoke up about it. Warn your fellow sim racers. Too late now

No one spoke up because by the time he started taking deposits for his shifter he was still around. He disappeared until later, so no one could've told you outright "Don't do it because he'll take off with your money". By now (as you've been pointed out) there are a lot of threads on the major sim racing sites warning people.

This is what I got from internet search and Facebook link above :

Cannon Simulation Technologies
Todd Cannon

Norman, OK 73071

Just like I saw before when I googled it on from the iRacing thread a couple months back; Why is there a black and white already parked out front?

Too bad he's in the OKC area in the western part of the state. I've got a friend that's a detective and does cyber stuff around here.

Ha! Is that really a b&w out front? Thats awesome. Looks like that property is on the market.

Sorry for your loss here, Mayaman, but this is really the #1 reason why I won't accept pre-orders for my BLC-T500 Load Cell Mods. I accept no payment from anybody until I have a unit assembled, tested, boxed, and ready to have a shipping label applied to it. This protects me, and it protects my customers as well.

I could understand asking for a deposit up-front for more expensive custom-built to order items like my Sam Maxwell wheel (Sam asks for $50 up-front, which is reasonable, IMO), but for something relatively "inexpensive" like my load cell mods, there's no reason for an advance deposit as far as I'm concerned.

Loll.... 4-5 months ago I was ready to preorder both pedals and GT-shifter, but fortunately when I googled his name I found the facebook page dedicated to this sad story!

This Todd Cannon business has been hashed to death at the iRacing forum. So many people have been burnt badly by Todd. I was within a hair on ordering a set of his pedals about 1 1/2 year ago. A friend from B.C. ordered just prior and got his pedals.

Within weeks after that people started reporting no products and no refund. Sorry Maya, file with the FBI like all the others.

Tony got screwed royally by Todd, Tony had no idea what Todd was up to. You should be much more careful with your choice of words. Since you brought up Tony's name you could have made it clear that Tony had nothing to do with Todds thievery.

My word, did you pull that out of a hat? :)

I made myself pretty clear when I said Todd screwed Tony out of a lot of money. You can try to twist that I guess. Then you add a quip I never said to the second quote, lol. I never said Todd skipped town. You can check the edits to my post. I have no idea what he did or where he is. I just followed the iRacing thread closely, probably just like you. Don't try to convolute my statements. We have had our differences Darren, no doubt, and I have moved on from them. We all are rightly concerned here, and that is what is most important.

Just like you Darren, I almost put a deposit down right when the issues arose also. I am happy we both made a wise decision. That is what is most important, and we ALL feel bad for Mayaman & the others affected. No one likes to see someone get screwed over like that. All we can hope is that justice is served at the end.

What really kills me is that people like Todd literally can steal to their hearts content and we have no recourse. Yet some poor schmuck who works hard and is caught with a joint has his life destroyed. SMH at the USA, we are literally ass backwards.

why they should change the name to "legal system" and not misleadingly refer to it as the "justice system"

Left,

What you said is true, he did get screwed off a lot of money by Todd. Unfortunately, it seems Tony is now involved in his own little problem with his very own shifter (no less!).

http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/3195028.page

Lots of people have paid for it (not sure if in full but money has changed hands) and they haven't heard from him since early September. I'll let the thread speak for itself.

PS: I sent you a friend request on iRacing, please respond! (if you'll have me, that is :p)

Well, I contacted PayPal and they basically were no help at all. This is pretty outrageous. I'm guessing he has stolen tens of thousands of dollars here, from hundreds of people. Why isn't he in jail? This isn't a rhetorical question, I mean, he has an address in Oklahoma, why hasn't the local police picked him up.

Does anyone want too give me his home address via PM, I'll contact the local police in his town and see if they have an online criminal unit. I once had a scammer try and steal $90 from me in Seattle, I called the local police with his address and believe it or not they went to his home. I got my $90 the next day via PayPal.

Something has got to be done, he can't just get away with this. Has he completely left the country? We're not talking about small change here.
