Not trying to stir up any trouble here but has anyone lost interest in this game? I would visit GTP four to five times a day to check for info now I just check it once every few days. I was gonna go to the store the first day to buy it but now I'll probably wait for my birthday or christmas for someone to get it. I planned on playing for hours every day but now I will probably play it in the evenings..Not to make this any longer but you guys think the hype and delay ruined this for a lot of people? May be I'm just getting too old for video games

Hmm, it'll still be a first day buy for me for sure, but it is kinda disappointing. I'm hoping for at least a summer release. lol

Well, I have MAG and GT5P to keep me going!

You say you lost interest, but I can guarentee that you'll be all over GTP closer to the release date. And I bet you'll be right there the day it comes out to buy it. You'll gain interest back when GT5 becomes more relevent.

Lost interest in this game? Never. I will buy it when it's out.
Lost the hype that SONY created around it? Yes.

Not at all.

Anyone that has genuinely lost interest in GT wouldn't even be browsing this forum.

I agree with everyone else. We wouldn't be on this website if we had lost interest. For me, it's just something great to look forward to. The wait and revealing of new information little by little is actually part of the fun for me.

Well I can say it again, I told you so. Last year i said that PD is notorious for delays and it is expected they want to cash in on December release 2010. Now selfish pd and executive wants to cash in on what they believe will be big for them.

My goodness April and may is okay and vacant and still they skip it. Well they are wrong, so many gamers are pissed in waiting, it will surely affects its sales, and by that time its out, there are more better games and possibly next gen teaser to lose more interest on GTforever, its new title for me hehe.

Sony is so selfish and stupid and people and critics are laughing since this is just a racing game and it took 6 useless years. Why can't they launch it and just update it with DLC, It can be cone and they are adding so many useless features like gps or even 3D which we don't need right now. Well imagine gt6(if Sony and PD company is still around ) maybe it will take a decade hehe!

Why don't they just launch it, update it time to time. This is not perfectionism , this is stupidity on PD and Sony. Imagine by the time its out ps3 life is almost over. Adn next gen is coming pretty soon.

My goodness i thought seeing this game still in E3 worse, well it becomes worse, we might still see this game on TGS , damn...

Even for a patient person this is to much BS. Well GT5 kiss your sales dreams good bye and see you on Ps4.

I think the interest it will flame up in a blaze when it comes out, like many pointed out here. And I too think you'll be in the shops on the release date, I am gonna be for sure. To your question: sure I'm getting a bit tired of the few tracks, the bigger loss is the online racing and the forum loosing momentum. If things would have stayed as they were e.g. prior the demo I'd be fine for a while longer I guess.

Question from my side, though, as I am new to the GT series: haven't you been around this block with previous GT releases?

I haven't played it so it's hard to lose interest really.

I think the game should do horrible in sales so PD will learn not to be so damn secretive about every detail.

J/k

No sir thats what PD and Sony believe that there fans will stay but they will not , because by that time a lot of better games will come out and possibly next gen teaser to tease us to lose our interest in this game . And because we will see other games this fall for ps3 and xbox 360 we will use our money for those gamers instead of our money prepared for gt5 , oh im sorry GTforever.

I haven't lost interest, but i am browsing the forum less and less.

Checking several times a day is pointless. More often than not we will only see 2 or 3 news stories every week. In Springtime i expect to see more press releases by Sony and PD, but for now i'm committing me time to other things. Its bad enough that i'll be spending thousands of hours playing the game when it is released, i shouldn't be spending so many hours browsing this forum.

I don't remember the gap from console release - new version being quite so bad. IIRC it was around 6months from PS2 release to GT3 coming out. GT5 is a real kicker, the console is more than half way to obsolete and theres still no news.

Yep, I'm bored of attention seeking haters now. Forza will be better this, GO TO HELL PD that. When the game is out and everyone is astonished at how amazing it is, they'll be right back acting as though they never lost faith.

I've said this many times in other threads but, this is a fan site, I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, and everyone is bound to be a little disappointed, but if you've fallen out of love with GT that badly, please go away. You're spoiling it for everyone else

I will buy GT5 if and when it finally arrives but I wanted to play it several years ago when I was told I'd be able to play it. Not at some indeterminate point in the future that keeps getting further away every time Sony opens it's mouth.

I need somewhere to vent my rage and I guess you guys just got lucky.

It actually means I'm investing more and mroe time in FM3, and really enjoying it, so actually to me the Delay is not so much of an issue, I'm hoping it'll arrive at a time that FM3 starts to wane in my gaming habits...

:)

I have lost interest a little, and my patience is in tatters lol, but I expect that when a release date is announced, sony will do their best to stick to it this time and my excitement will start all over again. In response to the negative posts about pd, hoping that sales suffer etc , that would be the worst case scenario for gt fans! We need to hope it outsells everything so that sony don't lose faith in the series and hopefully throw more weight behind gt6

Lost interest? No. Disappointed/fed up? Yes. Anybody here who was bothered enough to sign up and is bothered enough to browse here and post clearly has not lost interest. Whatever anybody here in that position says, they will buy the game at launch. There is a huge difference between losing interest and simply being disappointed.

I played the demo of Forza 3 again at my cousins last night, and to be honest, I had a blast. OK, you can rag the cars a bit harder on the corners than you might expect, so the sim racers cry over it. All that matter is I had fun, and for that reason I can see me putting my PS3 into hibernation and getting a 360 Super Elite with Forza 3 to pass the time. My PS3 has only been switched on once this year, and that was only to check what was new on the PSN Store (not a lot as it turned out!).

To be perfectly honest I play other stuff on my PS3, recently Tekken6 and Assasins Creed 2 have been keeping me busy but my real passion is and always has been Gran Turismo. I agree with TokyoDrift - it's frustrating to have to wait so long but it's doubly frustrating when release dates keep getting announced then ripped out from under our feet. Then KY comes away with the famous "it's done we can release anytime" statement, then the Sony striped suits are whining cos they wanted it out and KY is nowhere near finished.

It mounts up to ever increasing frustration. So some people have this great shiny philosophy about there being more to life. Good luck to them. I'm not like that - I want GT and no amount of real life fun is going to take the edge off that.

No interest lost here, but i bought myself a gt5p (i hope i will not regret it). So now I would be pissed if gt5 would be released soon :D

2010 is the year of the PS3, there are so many prestigous titles due for release this year, if any of them interest you :) GT5 being the one we're anticipating the most. FFXIII and XIII Versus are both up there too. I bet the 360 release of the game will be delayed to some extent, i mean XIII is already out in Japan for PS3. MAG that has just been released is a good one too, Heavy Rain i've heard good things about, there are others too, GoW3? Is that out yet?

2010 is the year of the PS3

2007 was the year of the PS3, then it was 2008, then 2009, now it's 2010..

Lets face it, the expectation is every year is the year of the PS3..!!!!!

What amazes me, is that I agree, on paper, it looks a done deal, but it always surprises me that it although it does really well, it's looking like it's just another player in the console market, not some uber 'crush all that come before it' behemoth of old..

Some thoughts, others members says that kill the time playing FM3, where i can go? FM3 its ok, its NOT PERFECT, and thats the point!! sure some hardcore GT fans (like i used to be) are not happy with the comparison, but, its good to learn from others games who want to compete with GT (that is for KY). The game has glitches, bugs, not 500k polys, but its fun, and more important ITS RELEASED!!

Im not lost interest in the game because i havent played, contrary, i want it more and more, im so frustrated, i just want to have a lap with a Civic Sir 93 in GT5 in Grand Valley!! i dont want anymore!!! no super GPS link with my Toyota FT86 (joke, i dont have a FT86) or ultra 100 mp photo mode, just the core!!!

Im not lost interest, but, im tired of postposes and the search of perfection, we are all perfects in ours ways, that not mean we are perfect in definition. For my GT4 are perfect, i think KY let escape the turtle.

Sorry my english.

That's the thing - very few other genres do anything for me these days. I used to play anything and everything, but the family, work, and the lack of innovation in games these days makes me very picky!

Sony made a big mistake, releasing the PS2 too late and allowing M$ to muscle in on their act. They continued this with PS3. Unless PS4 is out before the next gen Xbox it probably won't even be worth their while releasing one. Getting your product to market after the competition have sold all theirs is doom for both the console and any games that might come out on it.

The irony is that's how Sony got started in the console market in the first place - pulling the rug from under Sega's feet with the PS1.
