Well, not that many really famous people, most of them are in motorsport... I stress I am not an autograph hunter, that's chavvy and shallow in my opinion, anyway...

Jenson Button, he was at Silverstone for the BTCC a few years back (spectating obviously), my car had broken down in the paddock car park, he was stationary in his old CLK DTM, so we tapped on the window and asked if he had any jump leads... :D he didn't... my friend asked him why he split up with Louise... um, whatever her name was.. as she was 'well fit'?, ... he put the window up :D.

On the same day I met UK TV presenter Mike Brewer, REALLY nice bloke, also asked him for jump leads, he had none either :(

Kimi Raikkonen was getting into his Merc when I went in for a hand shake, said hello and stuff, he still had my hand when one of his minders shut the car door - THAT was CLOSE!

Robert Kubica... back in the days when he was only 3rd driver for BMW Sauber, I asked him when he would get Villeneuves drive, at the time he laughed.. within a couple of months - it happened. I also met Lucas Digrassi and Faurus Fauzy that day, but that was when they were Formula Renault drivers, therefore more than happy to chat to anybody...

Literally bumped into Rubens Barricello in the paddock at Silverstone.. he's quite short, and sweaty!

Nearly met Fernando Alonso, but he blanked me and his minder shoulder barged me out of the way.

Murray Walker.. is a miserable git, and would only talk to us if we bought a copy of his book, all we wanted to do was get him to say hello to my 4 & 5 year old god children... also met MotorsTV commentator Martin Haven (nice bloke), ex F1 pundit Tony Jardine (nice bloke), ex racer and TV presenter Tiff Needell... errrm, also BTCC champ and TV presenter Jason Plato, serveral times... he smokes like a chimney!

... since we're on touring car drivers, met BTCC ace Mat Jackson in a pub, since then always went and said hello at the races I attended... nice bloke. Ex BTCC and current Porsche Super Cup driver Stephen Jelly... really really nice bloke.. also Matt Neal, James Thompson, Colin Turkington, Rob Collard.... Tom Onslow-cole (nice bloke) and Tom Chilton a couple of times (nice bloke-ish) and Ex STIG, Ben Collins! Ex A1GP GB driver Robbie Kerr... had a chat to him whilst wondering around at BTCC event.

Touring Car LEGEND Deiter Quester.. don't think he spoke English.. conversation was kinda one sided!...

WTCC driver Rob Huff... he was alright, invited me into his pit garage :D, then told me to put that **** in the bin, referring to my andy Priaulx cap.

Christiano DaMatta, Christian Klien, Christijan Albers, Christian Horner (a couple of times)... Horner is a really nice bloke, joked with him on two occasions about offering Juan Montoya a drive back in F1!

.... whilst Juan Montoya himself, rolled his eyes at me, and went off in a huff :D

Tonio Liuzzi, whilst we were talking a woman came up and asked him to sign a picture of David Coulthard!

Nick Heidfeld, nice bloke, I tried to joke about my beard not being as good as his, he didn't laugh.

Met Dirk Werner briefly at Silverstone this year.

..

Non motorsport related people.. Patrick Stewart in New York back in 2000, Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson was a friend of a family members friend (tenuous, but I did meet him)...

I also met a porn star once, I don't remember her name, honest ;)

umm, I'm sure there's been more...

Well, it's been a while so I'm going to update my list...

Touring Car Legend Roberto Ravaglia
Touring Car Drivers.. Yvan Muller (Really nice bloke actually, I was quite surprised), Alan Menu (Not as nice), Tom Coronel (He's Dutch.. isn't that Crazy!), Franz Engstler (Nice bloke)...

also.. Damon Hill (Little bit grumpy, but had just been stung for an Ice cream at race track prices...), and Johnny Herbert (Really nice bloke)...

ummm.. thats it again for a while.

When i was playing tourney paintball i met alot of famous people.
Maurice gibb from the beegees had a team before he passed away.
I played against alex trebeks(jeopardy) son and he was on the sidelines.
B- real also had a team and would always make himself available. It was fun shooting him up. He remembered me from the summer before when i partied on the cypress hill bus after a to club show in boston.
After i quit playing i became a team owner/coach and one of my players dads is kevin week ( whitey bulgers right hand). Traveled with him many many times.

Not many I'm afraid, but I've met Willie Thorne (snooker player), Richard O'Brien, Johnny Vegas and Jimmy Carr.

Saw chris hughton in marks and spencers just before christmas(Ex Newcastle manager, current Birmingham manager)Probably only English folk will know who he is.

Bob Geldof wearing a V-neck the wrong way round.

Frank Carson. My grandparents took us to a comedy show in Blackpool one summer and he was on the bill along with a more family oriented comedian (who's name i can't remember). We were in the resteraunt/bar before the show began and Frank sat down at our table as the place was busy. He sat down with two pints of Guinness, talked for a while, downed one pint, started on the other, but only finished half and said "I've got to go".

He looked at me, and gave me the pint of Guinness and told me to drink it up. Was only about 7. My grandfather joked about me drinking it, then he finished it. Oddly, Guinness is my beer of choice.

Matthew Kelly. Again at Blackpool. On the same trip(and only time I set foot in that town again) he was filming a bit for some tv show. Some producers were trying to get me to join in, but I didn't want to. He seemed nice, like he did on TV. However, my friends wound me up about it a little once the (unproven) allegations came to light.

Takuma Sato. Met him at Toronto Indy. Real nice guy, but was very busy.

Helio Castroneves Again, met him at Toronto Indy. He was funny. He was riding a moped on his way to the paddock, he stopped and talked for a while.

Sebastien Bourdais. Again, Toronto Indy. I congratulated him on his win at Imola the week before. He seemed ok, but I think he was slightly annoyed. He really does have some terrible luck sometimes. He was getting driven around by some of his crew in this little golf cart style vehicle. It wasn't a golf cart, but that's probably the best way to describe it. It seemed his crew got lost because after that we saw him a few times within the space of a minute, heading in different directions, eventually heading towards the autograph area. He looked annoyed the last time, but saw me and winked.

Paul Tracy. Again, at Toronto Indy. I have some explaining to do, but I hate Paul Tracy. I explained to my girlfriend on the streetcar on the way to the track why I hate him, and even jokingly booed his car a few times as he passed. Later, we were walking through the paddock and it's worth noting that this was before I met Sato, Helio and Bourdais, I came face to face with Paul Tracy. I recognized, him, he saw that I recognized him and actually stopped to talk with me. I remember thinking "You bad mouthed this guy on the trip down here. You even booed his car". So I just walked past him. I was proud of myself. For a second, I was worried I was gonna cave and say "nice to meet you" or something stupid like that.

Euan McGregor. Being from Glasgow and the fact that I lived in the west end of Glasgow for 6 years before coming to Canada, I saw him a lot. What can I say? I don't like him.

I have meet and shook hands with Travis Pastrana when he and the Nitro Circus guys were in Dunedin NZ. He's a really nice guy. He came over as he was walking to board his plane at the airport. I didn't really want to bug him but he approached me as he could see I knew who he was. Tommy was making a big racket in the gaming section when I noticed they were there.

I met my countries' Prime Minister, John Key. I got a photo taken with him, we sent it to his office and he sent it back signed, with a card and the NZ pin he was wearing.

You lucky 🤬, I am jealous now. Veeeery jealous

I've met several mexican personalities during the course of the years :)

Raúl Arias.- Former coach of mexican football club Necaxa, he and my father were friends during their childhood.
Tomás Boy.- Current coach of Monarcas Morelia, the runner's up of last football tournament.
Ana Guevara.- Former 400m runner.
Martha Higareda.- Actress  She's so small and beautiful! :dopey:

And last October I had the honor of meeting Mario Andretti. He was doing a meet and greet at a Firestone Service Center about an hour from my house. I asked him who he thought would be crowned the 2010 F1 champion. He said Alonso, since he peaked at just the right time. He signed a poster I had of him, and my friend's Ferrari shirt. And he posed for this picture:

And this isn't a famous person, but it is a famous vehicle. It's the Dharma Initiative VW Van from the Television drama Lost. I found it at a local specialty car dealer called Driver Source. I was very excited!

I've seen at a political event, but have never met, Barack Obama.

I have met, very briefly, my two state senators.

I saw Tanner Foust today. Though not exactly surprising since I was in the studio audience for TG USA.

We must have met different ones.

Well, this was at the Superstars V8 Euro series this year. Not a particularly busy event, possibly if it was an F1 related thing, or Le Mans, he may not have had the time to be as polite.

Its the small things that add up to making a racing driver a nice bloke in person...

- Do they stop what they are doing (within reason) to at least acknowledge you
- Will they make any eye contact
- Are they friendly (i.e. maybe crack a smile, maybe sound a little bit enthusiastic about what they do...)
- Then of course, the contents of the conversation, which admittedly can be pretty brief.

Johnny ticked all those boxes.

GT Academy, last year.

Sabine was lovely. She has no concept of "brief" when it comes to conversation

For me, none yet :/

BUT! I've had a friend walking in Downtown to lunch with a co-worker, and was too busy checking out this dude's hot girlfriend, while everybody else was staring at the guy accompanying the girl shouting, "Oh my god it's Deadmau5!!!". Even got a photo with him. Lucky bastard...

Mostly hockey guys for me but that is really only interesting to some of the Canadians here...

For anybody that may be interested I did paint Taylor Pyatt's house for a couple days. He is a former Canuck and now a Phoenix Coyote (NHL player).

I've personally met the entire Canuck's roster twice now.

I met Paul Tracy in his garage at a race event once but I was very young then.

I was also standing with my girlfriend when Rick Hansen touched her hand as he wheeled by at the olympic torch relay here in Vancouver. He is the guy who wheeled his chair around the world for charity.

Met a few local road racers over the years.

One of interest and maybe known to those in the UK would be Guy Martin.
I've actually raced against Colin Turkington in a simulation demo' derby! He won £100 that night, not like he needs the money! lol

Lets see.... Nope.

Oh wait, I was friends with a finalist on a popular TV show (Australian Idol). Funny thing is, I never watched the show, and about 3 weeks after he got booted out, someone told me that he was on the show.

And I just remembered I met Amanda Keller (Kelly, maybe. I dont remember), who is a famous radio personality in Sydney. This was at work experience for a radio station (Mix 106.5 FM, which has WSFM and Rhema FM in the same building. bonus info for Sydney-siders)

Met Anthony (frontman of Red Hot Chilli Peppers) in New Jersey last year at a gas station. He was with 2 other guys who were unknown. I met him and thanked him for all the great music from the band. He seemed genuinely nice, big day for me since I'm a huge fan. :D

Neal
The real "Green Cross Code Man" Darth Vader...do I win? :dopey:

Yeah, david prowse came to our school once... None of us believed it was darth vader though... He went on about Star wars not being the first film of the series, and how george Lucas always wanted to make the first three films... This was about 24 years ago, and it was a pretty radical concept for us 8 year olds.... So we just assumed he was a bit Wierd.

Stop, look, listen Luke....
