The new Weather video in HD shows Glowing Disk brakes!! 👍 ( 0:55) and new snowy road (0:24 - 0:26) with wooden rails! The Rain moves around the windows due to your movements of the car (Starting at 0:26 watch the Left door window until 0:32).

[EDIT]: What is that ball in the sky at the beginning of the video? (0:04 - 0:06)

[EDIT2]: Also, just Noticed, Dirt Kicked up from car in front of you (0:25 - 0:25)?

[EDIT3]: STANDARD cars at (0:50 - 0:53) ??

nice catch...didn't notice this before. even though you could've posted this under the tgs 2010 thread but thx for brining this to our attention.

actually your video didnt load the first time i visited. just noticed you posted the hd version of the video...nice catch. many people may not have seen it. omg the game looks goooooorgeous.

That ball in the sky looks like a hot air balloon. If it's snowing, I don't think it would be there, lol.

It could also be bad compression in the video. Around it, you can see the gradient of color isn't smooth. I'm actually leaning towards this possibility until we see a clear sky of that track.

hot air balloon in the snow, ah yeah.
probably just camera effects. but that video has really hyped me up..

Looks like a Hot Air Ballonist decided to go for a snowy journey...

I love those glowing disks!!!

I actually posted about this in the TGS thread and nobody noticed/commented.

I seem to remember hot air balloons at Ice Arena in GT4 . . . 💡 Not positive, though.

I think those were small balloons were not hot air, but just blown up ads hanging off of string, I might be wrong :boggled:

[EDIT]: In Trial mountain wasn't there a hot air balloon or a blimp??

Saw the trailer and to be honest, I find the whole inclusion of weather/effects to be unnecessary especially since weather have no affect on a car performance other than tire traction.

Now if this were a flight sim like game Aero Elite Combat Academy, Falcon 4.0 or Microsoft Flight Simulator I could understand the inclusion of weather effects(as those games already use varying weather systems) since it actually affects a aircrafts performace may it be landing, taking-off, aerial combat(severe weather can blind a missile from hitting its intended target), etc, however since this has to do with cars the inclsuion of weather effect was just unnecessary.

In the end all this trailer tells me is what PD was wasting time adding a pointless feature for no reason.

Poor vision, assuming it's dynamic you need to be able to pit for tyres, adjusting to new conditions, car setup will need to be different. Plus it's a big part of racing, more so than night time.

What?

Severe weather can blind a driver. making him hit his unintended target, the wall !

Hmm.. That is probably the silliest post on this forum.. :yuck:

Traction (as you say), tyre wear, visibility, engine/drivetrain performance, fuel consumption......

A huge part of all that combined: Strategy.

Oh and don't forget car cleanliness.

assuming all that is modelled

But this game is also a racing game and weather is an important factor in racing.

If this game was purely about cars then all PD would have to do is create some tarmac, stick your car in the middle of it and let you run up and down.
