As the title says; came home with a brand new copy of GRID AS, start it up for the first time and to my horror the little joystick that's used for directions on my CSR is hanging loose and stuck in the "down" position. This means i can't navigate menu's (keeps on scrolling down eternally through the options) and i can't access any races

I already thought when i first started using the CSR less than a year ago, that the little joystick looked flimsy and vulnerable, and yes indeed it's already broken...(you have to use it all the time for navigating every menu).

Anyone else had this happen? What happens now i guess i can't open and try to fix it myself it or i screw up the warranty conditions, or is it easy to fix? Also if i'm not mistaken the wheel got delivered without any purchase bill (as it is already online when you login with your credentials on fanatec.eu). Have to look into all my papers again of what prove i have from delivery (shipping bill from UBS maybe?).

How does returning fanatecs under warranty go, will they blame it on "wear and tear" and i'll end up paying loads for having it fixed?

Please help

You don't mention what platform you're using. If you're on PC you can simply navigate with your keyboard or mouse and unmap any functions the D-PAD might have had.

Regardless of platform I'd advise not opening your wheel and instead send it for repair, considering you're still within the warranty period. If it was a regular button it might be easy to fix, but a D-Pad is usually more complicated.

Thanks for the advice, i'm a console user so no way to apply that pc trick sadly.
So fustrating that one little button can screw up your wheel's entire functionality...

Anyone here ever had their wheel send back to Fanatec? How does it go service wise, you have it posted to them via the normal post and do they reimburse the sending costs? How does it work?
