After finishing the Vettel Challenge this seems even more impossible. The best I can get is about 2-3 seconds behind the leader. What aids should I use and what strategy?

I did this some time ago. Don't recall using any aids but what I did do was turn the brightness up on my TV so I could see where the hell I was going. This wasn't too difficult to gold for me. Maybe spent an hour on it I think.

The track was changed in an update.
The track was shorter. I turned the brightness up too, in game an on the tv, but it's more about being fast. Was changed in 1.06 I think?

Its quite easy when you get a hang of it.

Try brake early, and drive smoothly.

Really, when you finally get the gold you'll see how easy it really is.
Specially since you've finished (golded?) the Vettel challenges....

All aids off ABS 1.
But I haven't done this one in a long while because I golded it so long ago so I'm not too sure if PD made this harder or something.

Done it! I tried not to slide too much and it worked. Thanks guys! Now onto eiger and dirt Toscana :scared:

And yes I have golded the vettel challenges.

Toscana night was with the Murcielago on extremely slippery Racing Hard tires, right? It's been ages since I finished it, but I would imagine [as with most other aspects of the game] driving without assists will yield faster times than with.

Finally won it!! Know your breaking points. Use any reference necessary - bushes, trees, road signs, and be clean - slow in, fast out of corners. Spent about an hour for this latest session. Now time to gold Eiger and Toscana rally!

Congrats! :)

The Eiger one is a tough challenge, but the Toscana rally is rather easy, at least I thought it was. :D

Funny enough, this is was one of the most enjoyable and easiest challenges for me. The S.Vettel challenge is near impossible for me.

Practice makes perfect, that's what I always say. I GOLD mine with the previous track formation, however, even though the current is longer, I find it much easier.
