I miss a lot the JGTC NSX to run against TOM's Supra and Pennzoil GT-R.
I would find it very strange if it's not present at launch day.

I hope that with future updates they will be added more recent race cars like 488 Evo, C8R, 720S, Vantage AMR, M4 GT3, Toyota GR010, Peugeot 9X8, 2022 Super GT 500...
Because the number of racing cars is quite disappointing.

pretty sure this a 993 Turbo

It's one of two 993s in the image, which would seem to be accounted for by the Carrera RS in addition to the existing Carrera RS CS as shown in the Porsche race results screen during State of Play.
Are we sure about the Testarossa I saw it but it was blurry hence why I did not want to hype myself up.
Pretty sure...

... I mean, I need to squint a bit, but...

there goes my 2000 cars wish out of window 🙁
so roughly how many new cars is there from last 10 years (2012-today)
or in total new cars from 2012..?

Some really interesting cars they've added. In particular that old Alfa and Mercedes from the 20's and 30's, plus some others. I can't wait to drive them...

So about the Genesis cars, do you guys think they're definite in for GT7 or no? I'm asking this as I included them in my own "new-to-series" cars video and I have commenters questioning this.

yep, updated GT3 cars is a must now, the most recent Aston Martin is the V12 Vantage and is 10 years old, the 458 GT3 is 9....
Couldn’t agree more. This is where I believe Kaz failed with GT Sport; keeping the theme of racing as opposed to bowing to pressure, whether he truly did or was always in his plan to start adding single player campaign modes and vehicles like the bus. This was my biggest disappointment of the game.

I accepted for GTS, but GT7…. Nahhh We are going to need a DLC updated GT3 roster ASAP!!

So exactly 50 totally brand new cars. Not much, is it...
Not that many, no. But from what we saw, the tuning adds a whole new dimension to the variety of cars available in the game. If you have the possibility to widen wheel arches, swap engines, numerous aero parts, etc. for many road cars (that's the hope, at least), these tuned cars could actually add more to the game than having a couple more cars. Every car that can be modified like that is worth, like, a car and a half.

But of course, every original car more is greatly appreciated.

I guess this car will appear in Assetto Corsa 2 as well.
ACC is the official GT3 sim. That's something different.

Very true, the extensive upgrading system seems to be one of the best parts of the game and will definitely bring back that experience of upgrading your car and turning it into something totally different like the old games. Especially with engine swaps.

But of course no amount of tuning is going to turn a Suzuki Swift into an Aston Martin DB11 or a Toyota Aqua into a GT-ONE. There are a lot of automotive holes old and new that really need filling to make the game feel like a true car encyclopedia.

Whilst I would love for that to happen, based upon the past and GT Sport I’ll eat my dual sense controller if Kaz were to update the entire GT3 Roster as per current ACC Next gen release.

Respectfully I disagree in that GT Sport was primed for this whether GTE/LM/3 more than GT7 given that this is about ‘cars’ and ‘car culture’.

I agree, while GT7 has way more cars than GT3, GT3 still managed to feel like a much more consistent car list (minus manufacturers like BMW only having 1 car available.)

It's my opinion and what i think, and yes i had higher expectation in term of content for this game. I know they announced only 400+ cars and i was already disappointed when the news came out.

Considering GTSport as a " Prologue " of GT7, for me it's just too poor. I was expecting the challenge feature that we had on GT5 and GT6, a good amount of cars and tracks instead of not.
In fact, to create a 3D version of a car in GT7 (and GTSport too) is way longer than GT5/GT6 ones. And P.Digital will add new ones after the launch, surely free.
I hope in the future updates will have Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo, Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo, Toyota GR Supra GT500 and many others.
Kaz.Yamauchi said in interview, he would like to insert the lastest GT3 version. Only the Audi R8 today, I hope to see more during next dlc.

No it isn't. Quite the opposite.

this one car took around three months to complete. That’s a significant acceleration compared to previous Gran Turismo games, with six months being the normally quoted figure.

This looks like a very uninspired list to me. Maybe it's because I'm playing GT since the first game or maybe it's because I'm more into saloons and weird cars but most of these cars are old and not in a good way like in oldtimer, just old, as in almost absolete. I know by now how a Viper RT-10 drives, or every edition of the Mazda MX5 (Miata)...

If I count a specific model as one car, and all editions based on those cars, I count 105 'duplicates'. Just the same model but with other details or specs. The list is just not good enough for a full GT game. There are not enough starter cars, what is the fun if you can only choose a hatchback as a starter? I want a secondhand banger like a BMW 528i or a Peugeot 406, not a Toyota Yaris or Mazda 2 (Demio)... And what is the point of those Gr.3, 4 and rally versions? They had there use in Sport but in GT7 you can modify your car yourself so why would you need a Gr.3?

Previous GT games had unique cars that most of us didn't know about until they played GT. Where are brands like Zenvo, Koenigsegg, Rimac, SSC, Brabham... Gran Turismo should make us learn about new cars and brands, not make us chew on old stuff for the 6th or 7th time.

I made a list of all the cars that I see that are just filler. They are based on a car in the list and differ only in details or specs. I may be wrong in some cases but this is 1/4th of the whole list!

They are based on a car in the list and differ only in details or specs.
It's very much worth noting that the difference between a GT3 car and the road car it's based on is usually considerably more than "details or specs". Commonly there's barely a handful of shared components, and even the raw chassis is completely re-engineered. In fact even something like a BTCC car (which is basically a slightly slower Gr.4) has just a chassis in common with the road car it's based on.

Listing GT4 and GT3 race cars as all being essentially duplicates of road cars vastly misunderstands what goes into making a GT4 (in most cases, but not all) or GT3 race car.

I was hoping for many more normal, family or city cars with modest power maxing out at 200Hp like sedans, hatchbacks or wagons. Even MPVs (if they are still made) from years 2015 and newer. Not many are here. Bummer.
These cars were the pinnacle of the series. You would tune them to the max or left them stock and race them.
Every other game has Lambos or any other hypercars.
