When are you going to ask the hard questions? I know it's cool to be invited to all these events and to be in the good grace of the sensei, but someone needs to take it to the man. There are many of us who'd like to see some drastic improvements and the only one we can turn to is you.

Will you have the strength to ask the hard questions and possibly even make it a little uncomfortable?

(I'm totally loving this game though, don't get me wrong, but I'd also like to see some changes)

There a difference between a question and complaining, i feel as if what you're trying to say is "Tell Kaz that The sounds suck" or something similar, you have to be professional when asking questions.

Maybe Kaz just isn't aware what people think and that he needs to be made aware.

Yes, agreed. But there are ways of doing this.

Questions will probably not change the game. If PD was open to feedback they would share an e-mail address like some other developers do.

That would be chaos with how everyone feels about this game, there'd be 100,000 saying it's perfect and the best game ever, 100,000 saying it's 🤬 and the minority with actual feedback, rather than basic requests for new sounds which have been mentioned endlessly, would get lost in the flood.

Isn't he the vice president of Playstation? I think someone in his position would know what gamers think and want.

He just heads PD, unless there was a surreptitious change. Very surreptitious.

Kaz have to be professional when making engine sounds...

A senior vice-president, your post said the vice-president, two different things. One is second in command of the company, the other ranges from quite senior (depending on senior vice-president of what) to honourary. I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a hand in the running of the PlayStation brand, although I could be wrong on that.

How about.. "So Kaz, in your race career do you always have to skip qualifying and start from the back of the grid, and are your opponents completely useless and just act as roadblocks. Does the leader slow down on the final lap to allow you to catch up at the end?"

Insult and Sarcasm, surely that will get you answers.

Yes, let's not only use the limited time of a rare interview opportunity to communicate opinions that they're probably already aware of, but let's also do it in a rude manner. That is certainly going to improve things.

No I really, really think this is a question that needs to be asked obviously not quite as sarcastically as my quote, which was intended to inject a bit of wry humour into the situation.

How about:

"Qualifications before a race is something that many fans of Gran Turismo would like to see. What is your opinion on that and is it something you would like to add to the series?"

No that doesn't cut it. You need to relate it to his own racing experiences to get the point across. Let's face it this arcade style challenge of driving through a pack of slower cars from the back to get to the front is nothing at all like racing. So I would like to know how that relates to his own racing experience.

@bjosim - Jordan does ask these types of questions. In a recent interview he asked why certain aids are forced on for some events. However, Kazunori answered like a typical politician would & said absolutely nothing though answering with many words.

See the last question here.

What's interesting about that response is that GT1 is positively unfriendly to users, or at least it was back then. It was the only game in the series without any driving aids - well, other than super-sticky race tires and an auto trans - and it did not suffer fools lightly. I was 12 when I first played it, and went off the advice of a review for my first purchase. The MA70 Supra spun at the hairpin on Autumn Ring Mini nearly every lap when I was starting out. There were no pop-ups telling you what to do at every step - no hand-holding on the level that GT6 manages, anyways.

As for the topic at hand - what the interviews naturally don't include is some of the more casual banter that takes place at events. Taku joked with us about the common engine sound complaints at the JFF, for instance. Though let's look at it from a different point of view; would you be rude during an interview with a team that's just flown you half way across the world on their dime? :). I've been critical of the PS3 games in various amounts over the years, but there are ways to handle that when speaking to the man directly. Being unnecessarily rude and sarcastic is not it.

@bjosim - If you want the thread closed, say the word.

Alright. But I don't think it's related at all to his racing experience.

I ran that question in the real Kaz simulator, and this is the outcome I got:

WARNING: FICTION BELOW! WARNING: FICTION BELOW! WARNING: FICTION BELOW!

A: "It doesn't. It's a design choise we made. To have every race be 20 laps or so would surely appeal to the hardcore racers, but for the majority of gamers we think that the current race length of around 7-10 minutes is the best option. Having so short races, also means that we can't let the AI be too fast, or else the races would be too hard for most gamers."

Q: I see. But what about having options for race length and AI difficulty, so that each player can chose the options he or she likes the best?

A: "That is something we have been thinking about, and we're working on it."

Q: Will we see it coming as an update for GT6?

A: "Maybe."

WARNING: FICTION ABOVE! WARNING: FICTION ABOVE! WARNING: FICTION ABOVE!

1. Ps3 has limited resources
2. Gran Turismo has to be accessible to beginners

I think that pretty much covers it...

Actually more than the wonky response from Kaz, the question is what really stands out in this case:

"You mentioned during the presentation that you want to make GT6 more accessible to new players, and some people have noticed that some driving aids are forced on when doing things like the license tests. How do you make the game accessible to new players while also challenging to players who may have been playing for the last 15 years?"

^Now I don't know if it was Jordan who asked this (I suspect it was, due to the part about SRF -we all know thats a huge deal on GTP), but does anyone see how the real meat of it is sandwiched by two big soft pieces of bread concerning a different, broader point?

This should've been two seperate questions. It's hard enough dealing with the translation issues, we don't need to cloud this thing up even more.

1. How do you continue to make the game accessible to new, casual players- in light of the physics advancements?

2. Why are you guys making the explicit decision to force any aid on, instead of just defaulting on, with the option to turn it off?

"We will look into this in the future. Possibly." (Laughs) (Winks) (Big pull on a nasty cigarette) (Looks up at the sky in unbridled bewilderment)

Jordan has definitely asked some REALLY good, poignant questions before. And the high truth is, Jordan should not be our only conduit into PD for feedback and improvement issues. What ever happened to the GTPlanet Feedback section? That thing should be running full steam during this time, no?

Jordan probably doesn't like the thought of spending ages making the planet nice and pretty, then pressing the big red button marked 'Nuke it!'. The GT6 forum has high traffic right now, how much higher do you think it would go if this site, which many seem to mistake for an official Polyphony venture already, had a section marked feedback? :scared:

Staff at PD are definitely cruising these forums. I think Kaz hinted at such in an interview and you got the sense they were listening to us because of some of the updates to GT5 were addressing specific issues we had at the time.

One of the problems in interviews with Kaz is he's so non-committal. It's all "probably" and "I think" and "it's possible" and "perhaps in the future" and "we're looking into that". You never get a solid answer, and if you do, it's not always truth.

1. So limited resources stop the engine sounds being changed or an on/off toggle for SRF or letting us qualify (which can be done online)?

2. Have as many aids as you want, just let us more experienced racers turn them off !

Also i don't believe for one minute that PD come to GTPlanet, they were just being polite.
Anyone with half a brain knows the biggest problems are sounds and standards, both of which are still in the game 7 years after PS3 launch and about 10 years since PD have worked on the PS3 build.
So, its either that or they just don't care!?
