Having a hard time adjusting to high school for some reason. I guess it's just since I'm tired most of the time (or my depression could be relapsing). Haven't made but one or two friends; to most I'm just a nuisance, but I don't really care :p. Doing alright in all subjects except Math II (Geometry I think). It's been okay so far, but hopefully things turn out for the better :)

Well today we had our senior class picture. We went to an old farm and took it by an old barn, which turned out OK. On a different note, I guess I haven't told you guys, but my history teacher gives us free candy every time we take a test (which is literally the same as the study guide). Seriously, he crosses out the word "study guide" and puts "test" over it.

@Smurfybug Dammit my brain just exploding for that paragraph bomb. And im kinda wanted to be interested but not that necessarily. But whatevs.

My advice would be just do what you can do best. Font overthinking about it. And if you had, say, pushy parents, you can explain it to them.

If the latter fails, just take it as a grain of salt. Making it on your mind only backs down your achievments.

I also reccomend you to atleast have a hobby. I got filmmaking and learning computer stuff. Yours different. But try to be more involved.

Also i remember you are the head of the class?

Junior year is when it counts. Taking it sophomore year is still good practice though.

Try to keep the score higher as the class tiers passed. Much better than getting high score on the first year but goes downhill on the latter.

Oh yeah, i forgot one things. Well several i think. Sorry.

1. While learning in school is also important, your social life is the most things you must learn. Im not saying youll be suddenly transform from liking to be alone to partygoers. Myself arent exactly very sociable either nowadays even on college, though doesnt mean i prefered alone. But really hone your atleast your basic social skills there. Soon, your jobs mostly relies on connection.

2. Youre not always be the best of anything. Do your best, ignore the pressure.

3. If you fail on, say, keeping the score higher, just move on and let the life flow on. Learn from it but dont ever mourn about it. Overthinking about past failures leads to more failures onwards. See Sunk Cost Fallacy.

4. You cant also win over all people. And no its not only on school, even in relationship and, of all things, GTP. Someday sometimes youll be greeted with some people who hates you at the first sight for minor things. Just make a tongue in cheek about it, dont overthinking it (like I did last month), and move on with your well known partner.

5. Again, embrace your hobbies. School at the core is bloddy boring. Just improvise.

You'll do fine, it's only a mile. If you're running it on a track try to mentally section it off in order to keep pushing. Use your arms but, keep them and your hands loose (don't clench your fists). Also, get out ahead of the pack but, don't go out too hard and "die" before the end.

Few people are naturally good runners most of us have to make ourselves good. I was terrible when I started out but, I eventually started to train everyday and my times were shaved by minutes. I can now (not now but, earlier this season due to injury) do 15 miles under 7:00 and maintain a conversation the entire time (It's at an easy pace for us) and not think anything of it. Honestly, that really isn't that hard of a workout. You should ask Jump_Ace what the distance runners did at Oregon.

So I pretty much failed all my exams except for IT: Multimedia.

I can understand on Drama because its exam is actually English Advanced level and I do English Studies and I'm actually proud on how far I've improved in Ancient History, as before I would've likely go 10% to 20%, but I got 43% my 2nd Highest %. I don't really have many feelings on how I failed Japanese except for trying harder. Maths is irrelevant for me since I'm dropping to 5.2 when it becomes available anyway.

I PASSED THE MILE! 7:33! OMG YASSSSS

My best when I was in high school was a 7:37. I haven't worked out in any form since I've graduated, and it'll suck when I actually get around and work out like I've said I will for years.

I did mine in 11:18.

As you can tell, I'm in no way athletic.

Not trying to put you down or anything, but oh my gad, I actually did it faster than somebody! It was still pretty slow, though. Like I said, I can't run.

EDIT: That being said, we had two Army recruters come into our gym class today. I thought they we're doing some sort of "advertisment, promotion, Join the army" type thing, but they ended up having us do a series of workouts. They had different stations set up around the gym consisting of burpies, frog kicks, push ups, wide arm push ups, jumping jacks, etc. We had to do two laps of the gym. 30 seconds of the excercise, jog to the next station, jog in place until they told us to do the excercise.

I don't know how, but somehow I made it through the whole thing. Quite a workout, and I couldn't feel my legs or arms for about the next hour. I don't think I've ever exercised that much or hard in one go.

Heck, I wasn't even the slowest in my class. That said, I've never heard of burpies or frog kicks, I did 3 push-ups before I couldn't do any more, and the Army doesn't do that kind of thing in my school.

Yeah, I think it was an under the table kind of deal. I guess the gym teacher new the recruters or something; they may have been the ones running the school's ROTC program as well.

Burpies (I'm probably butchering the proper spelling of it) was a thing where you started in a standijg position, kneeled down, and kicked your legs behind you, reversed the order back to a standing position, then jumped as high as you could.

Frog kicks were new to me also. You had to lay on your back and move your legs upwards then out. Didn't sound hard, but they quickly became strenuous after the first few sectiotions.

Well my first time doing the mile was about 10 or 11 minutes. After that I've been training by running 5 minutes away and running back to see how I do it. Also Burpies suck.

Imagine having to do 40 of them (2 sets of 20) as part of your warm up every other track practice.

I got grilled by my science teacher today because I was not doing my work, although I had no idea what I was supposed to do. I've been put in a group of 3 to complete a project, but they are not people I work with well. My final line was "Why don't you grill someone else instead of me?" She simply walked off after that and didn't bother me for the rest of the lesson.

I guess then you would hate to do Drama, they intentionally put you with people you don't work with or hang out with often. I honestly like it but some people just don't like that way of removing them from their comfort zone.

We're meant to change lab partners in Chemistry every time we do a Prac, but my teacher doesn't really mind us working with the same people. That'll probably change for Year 12, though.

Being put with people you usually don't work can be a good thing. I used to hate it (mostly because I'm a shy person), but I don't mind it much anymore. You might even end up becoming friends with those people.

I like it with Drama because the people you work with all have different opinions and views on how things should work so when you cope with these differences you can put together something much, much more better than what you would've done with a friend with a similar mindset as you.

The fact than the girl in my group is part of a family that my mum had a stoush with doesn't really help

I'd suggest still try your best to co-operate and also suggest compromises on situations. Sure your Mum has an issue with the family but that shouldn't stop you from at least trying to cooperate and do well in the project.

If she can't do that, then you must stand up to her and tell her to deal with the situation at hand otherwise you both are going to fail.

Just think about finishing it and you'll never have to do it for a long time.

But she just does her own thing without really acknowledging me or my other group member.

If she doesn't want to cooperate and you can't make her then I would suggest going on without her.

I had a Multimedia Group Project in Year 10 and 3 people pretty much slacked off and made ridiculous excuses for it, me and a friend finished our part in 2 weeks while they did nothing for 7 weeks. It wasn't until then we decided to finish off most of their parts until they FINALLY got their 🤬 in gear and finished the last part of their parts.
