I have NAPLAN testing in a week or so, which to me is just a massive annoyance because it isn't part of the school curriculum. Nor does it do anything for the system, apart from giving bragging rights to the best schools in the state.

At least you don't have to study for them.

At least it ain't the half-yearly exams. Though I think I did alright in everything except for the Japanese Speaking, that's something I need to improve on a lot ;).

I got my half-yearly Yr.11 maths test today at 12:45 :nervous:
I NEVER study and I always get good marks for my tests so I'm hoping I get a good mark for today's test

Got the results from a maths test last week and was surprised to see that I got an A! I think I would have gotten an A+ if I hadn't done a few silly mistakes, but I'm quite pleased with the result.

A few friends and I got bored in study hall today so we went to how-old.net to see if it could guess correctly how old we were and get out gender right. It guessed everybody right except one kid. Can you guess who it was? Yup you would be right. For some reason it couldn't decide if I was a eleven year old girl, a fourteen year old girl or a thirty-eight year old man. We honestly did get a few laughs from it. Still waiting to get my senior shirt. The teacher with them has been out for a few days and I can't wait to get mine. My goal this quarter is to not have to take my earth science final. The journey to a 97 has begun (need a 97 to make my current average an A).

That's hilarious... and quite the age jump... and gender change.

Just turned in my first 15 page college paper for my English 102 class, well it was more so 12 pages but that was just a suggestion anyways

Started this kind of testing called the "Smarter Balance". If I do good enough, I will have senior privileges next year. Nearly fell asleep on the first test this morning

Today in chemistry we did a lab involving double replacement reactions of aqueous solutions and the formation of precipitates. We reacted solutions of iron(III) chloride, cobalt(II) chloride, cobalt(II) nitrate, sodium nitrate, sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide and saw if precipitates formed. Some of the solutions were 0.1M, others 0.2M. I forget which were which in terms of concentration. I think only the chlorides and hydroxides actually formed precipitates. Throughout the whole lab, we only saw iron(III) and cobalt(II) hydroxides form as precipitates. The iron(III) hydroxide was light brown and the cobalt(II) hydroxide blue, just like some other salts of those metals. For next class, we have to write a lab report, writing some equations (Balanced, complete ionic, net ionic) with it.

This sounds like you're right on the same lines of what I'm covering in my chemistry class.

Last High School Band concert ever tonight, the 4 seniors got the teacher a plaque that takes a jab at the last classes gift to her

We're on "The Mole", chapter 10 in the textbook; but, we're also balancing equations at the same time, which is chapter 9.
Okay. I did the mole unit quite a while ago, and balancing is pretty much just second nature for me. 6.02*10^23 is definitely an important number regardless.

Balancing equations was never fun to me.

1 mole= 1 gram and then the configurations that goes along with Avogadro's number for conversion.

I abhor balancing equations. I can only get it half down.

I just finished typing up my chemistry lab report. I do enjoy writing lab reports. Hooray for precipitates.

Guess who gets to write a short story for their final high school English assignment?

FunFun... not. :P

My whole high school has to do a wax museum as part of our English final. It's next Wednesday and almost half the students haven't even started yet

I have to act out a scene from Romeo and Juliet... in high school. Yours isn't as bad.
Just do Mercutio's death at the hands of Tybalt.

Make it short and to the point - don't try to deal with suicide, depression, the futility of war or any of the other Heavy Hitters because if you get it wrong it's either insensitive or exploitative, but if you get it right, no-one in their right mind will want to read.

Finally got our senior shirts yesterday. Today is the last day to practice my audition for my school's talent show. Kinda nervous, but I think I'll be fine. Found out that we get our caps next week to personalize them, can't wait for that.
