Right there with you. I get to listen to my friends in Math tell me about who they hooked to with. :grumpy: One of them wants to help me get a girlfriend. I'm actually interested in that. We'll see what happens. Time really does fly.

Don't just go get a girlfriend to hook up with. That's stupid. Find a girl, preferably one you hang out with a little bit already, and treat her like a princess. Mate, if you think having a girlfriend is just about the sleeping together, you've got another thing coming. It's one of the greatest things you can feel to actually have someone you care about hug you on a cold day, come over to your house and meet your family, take to the beach, take out for pizza, any of that lot. That's what having a girlfriend is about.

Christ, I said I was done being philosophical for the night...

I would never get a girlfriend just to hook up. That's not me. I'm the nice guy every girl friend-zones. :(

Are you also one of those nice guys that goes on about being friend zoned all the time? :p

Hey. It's a never-discussed issue. Leave us alone :p

Yeah, it sucks. But hey, in the end, you still have a girl to talk to, yeah?

Ya, I talk to girls everyday.

Nobody talks about being friend zoned. We made a Facebook page about a guy call "Friend Zone Cristian". It got 200 likes in 1 day! Then it got taken down.

While we're on the topic of females... I don't really feel any sort of drive to get a girlfriend. Dunno why, I just don't. There aren't any relatively good looking girls that aren't dumb as a brick in our extremely small school (I only have 87 kids in my class).

I'm not sure where it comes from, honestly. For me it's comforting i suppose to be able to have someone rely on you. But as far as school goes, your grades will do much better without a girlfriend. I promise you that 👍

This.

Someone to hangout with. When ever I hangout with friends it always involves money. Video games cant keep me busy forever. Lately I've been bored at home wanting to do stuff not play games.

Don't bother with the high-school girls. I've witnessed many so-called "couples" come and go. They always end up breaking up, and the girls (in my school at least) often manage to find a new boyfriend within three weeks of breaking up. Then they'll go onto Facebook and posts stupid statuses about how their life changed and how they feel heart-broken.

As harsh as this may sound, I would love to go up to them and tell them that they deserve it for expecting a high-school relationship to last.

This generation... is hopeless.

Whilst you bring up a good point, there is a silver lining.

If you go into it KNOWING that it won't last forever, then it doesn't hurt so bad when you break up. As far as dating goes, what does it harm to have someone who you're "with" to call something special, and go have fun and hang out with?

Patrick- Yeah mate, get used to it. Hanging out with friends will start to cost you money. And if you're like me and all of your friends parents are business owners, Doctors, and so on, you find that it REALLY sucks when you have no money to go do things. Spend and save wisely, and ask your mum for coupons 👍

Wow, that's about the same as my school, less then 100 kids per class. My school is grades 6-12, so middle and high school, though my school got approved for an elementary school, so it will be K-12 next year. That will be crazy. Good thing each school has separate buildings.

Damn, that is small. Our class is probably almost 400 kids. About 2000+ kids at our school. :o

That is why you should live in England. Law states a maximum of 30 kids per class.

We have 20 people in English, around 20 in Math, around 30 in Marketing, and well my online course is me in the library, on a computer. Small class sizes. Because we have a lot of teachers, and we have like 1000 students in our school.

Ya but you don't get to hug a girl you just talk to, or all the other stuff you mentioned.

400 to 100 kids a class?? Are you talking about individual classes, like physics, IT, etc.. or each grade?

My school is like Vendenal's. My smallest class is 5 people, largest is around 15, and we've got about 1000 students (1st grade to 12th).

This guy^ he knows what hes talking about. Besides, you are going to find it hard to get any girl to like you (except the undesirables) if you only want sex. One thing I despise the most is people who only enter into any relationship for the sole purpose of getting something for themselves: sex, popularity, money, etc. It only hurts people.

Yeah you do! If you've established that you REALLY are just friends with the girl you can hug her, take her out to coffee, all sorts of things.

Yes but it isn't the same. Well, at least I bet it isn't because I can't get a girl for the life of me.

Also, I'm throroughly glad I did marching band. I made 3 good friends out of it and many who have the potential to be good friends. Too bad one friend is a junior and I'm only a freshman.

I never had a girlfriend in high school but I had a very close girl friend (note the space). Neither of us ever thought of going farther than just friends, and as a result we did all sorts of things together. Going over to each others' houses, seeing movies together, putt putt golfing, getting dinner, hugging, you name it. Amazing as it seems, it IS possible to interact with a female without thinking about hooking up with her, and when you do, they can be very enjoyable people to be around. The only thing a female friend can't do with you as opposed to a girlfriend is make out and so on, but as nice as that is, it's not the end of the world. Plus, you don't get nearly as much drama and gossip from others when you're just friends.

Pretty much all of my friends came from band...it can be a great vehicle for meeting lots of new people.

All of my mates save one are in Band. Gosh, we miss out on so much not being able to go on band trips with them.

Band trips are the best. To the inexperienced, a 17 hour bus ride sounds like hell on Earth, but to those of us fortunate enough to have great friends riding along with us, we looked forward to the bus ride as much as the destination. Much stupid high schooler shenanigans did ensue every time we got near a bus. :D
