That's insane. I was barely 5 feet tall at age 11.

I'm barely 5 feet tall at age 14 in 10th Grade! There are people smaller than me, too, in my year. The 7th Graders are tiny, they get smaller every year.

I know right! There is a girl in my class who is only like 4'4''

I'm about 5'4" now, among the shorter people at the school, but I do see those little shrimpy kids brush past me every now and then. :p
Luckily, if I'm ever having trouble getting through a crowded hallway, I can just follow some big tall kid. :dopey:

In my school, we have a pair of identical twins that are both 4' 11".

Barely 6ft, average in my year but not really tall. Great fun talking to others in my year with tonnes of short people walking in between us.:p

Should have said, "great fun talking to other Irish people while loads of Koreans walk about between us:p"

Add a safety warning about making sure you don't step on the loads of Koreans walking between the Irish people

14 & in 10th? I'm in 9th & I'm 14. :o

Just to solve confusion between UK and US students in this thread...

UK Year 10 is US 9th grade.
UK Year 11 is US 10th grade.

IIRC rightly anyway, people seem to get mixed up

1. Our school grades from 1-5. 100 to 90 - 5, 89 to 70 - 4, 69 to 50 - 3, 49 to 25 - 2 and below that you get a 1. Anything above 50 percent is a positive grade, and the teachers can change the percentage by 2 or 3 for each grade, depending on the test.

2. I am 16, 5'11'' and I am in 10th grade. We have all of the schools (elementary through high) under one estatement. It isn't big at 400 or so people :D
So 1-3 is elementary, 4-9 is middle (those two basically same, or primary if you may call it.) and 10-12 is high school. We only have to go to school until middle school ends.

Oh, we also go to school when we are 7.

It is insane, at least here there is a place in year 7/8 (enter the year at 11 if born in 2nd half of year) alone to let their brains degrade in creativity levels and slowly become what is considered a teenager.

a). Each 7 number range is designated a letter. 100-92 is an A, 91-85 is a B, 84-78 is a C, 77-70 is a D, and 69-0 is a F.

2) 9th-12th are high school.

Now, if I were placed in that, I would probably be a C- or D+, except for in music, where I'm between A+ and B-.

Now I'm on the fence about them getting shorter every year, because I'm pretty sure it's just we grow more than we realize and then think that we were taller than that at that point. Or there is the possibility that slowly humans are getting shorter for whatever reason.

I find it funny how in the US they call them Freshmen, because here they are considered the polar opposite to fresh... Turds.

I'm about 5' 10". I'm short as hell in my school. Average height is 6' 2". I have 2 teachers that are both 6' 8".

Interesting discussion. I'm the shortest boy on my grade IIRC, with a long margin too

That would be about 170cm (look, here's someone who trusts in metric!!!!) while the others are probably all above 180...

Over here, it's 1-6 for elementary, or as we call it, primary, and then 7-11 for high school. There are middle schools over here too, but I never went to one so I'm not sure about the years for those.

We start school at 4, and we can't leave education until we're 18. It used to be 16, but the government changed it a few years ago.

I know, but this time I genuinely think they're getting smaller. There was no way I was that small at 11. I mean, I was small, but I wasn't that small.

It's our last week before the Autumn break, so hopefully we won't get as much work.

Hopefully.

If it's the last week before a break at my school, that means the teachers cram about twice as much work in. :(
