6am?!
Looks like I got to go do a lunch/bbq thing this afternoon with the girl friends parents who are in town this weekend. *sigh* Getting out of there before 4am PT I really don't think is realistic. Hopefully I can get back in time for the G1 event.

And no Mudd, this isn't me avoiding the last race because I'm scared!

Would I accuse you of something like that?...forget I asked. I caught the 'a.m.' too. Just so everyone or clear, Kal meant P.M.

I'm a little concerned that the NASCAR Indy race might not be over by then, but I'll figure something out.

If the races are starting at 4 EST, I won't be back in time from doing the stuff I gotta do today. I might drop in and see whats going on, maybe I'll make the second race.

I did mean races start at 7 pm EST. If it helps we can do one race tonight (up the laps) and start at normal time (8pm est) and do the next group next weekend. I wish for everyone to be in on this race!

I'll be there for the early start, however we end up running it is fine with me. If attendance is low, we can make changes as we see fit and we can update in here as it happens. Just finished watching NASCAR Indy, what a great race! Got me in the mood to bang up some fenders!

I'm out this weekend. My son was born yesterday morning. I've been at the hospital this weekend. I should b back sometime later this week.

Congrats hope everything is well.

Do to (literally in a sense) life happen we decided to go ahead and postpone the Finale race so that the other driver who have done great in being committed can join in. I think Crazy has shown he likes to race with us and does a great job, and well without skel, it is kinda weird not having some one to put into the wall when needed.

That and I did not want to run a Finale Race with 5 people. I want a fuller race grid.

So next weekend guys suit up and be ready! Let me know what time will work for you and what we can do to make this work! I want a full grid!

Also, we had a blast doing the "Modern" Trans Am series tonight with Cobra who has been absent for a while. Glad to race with him again and wish he could join us next weekend but he has a good business going and he is dedicated to it of course.

The Viper and Camaro LM seem to be easily two of the fastest cars. I think the Z06 is one too but I do not have one to test. But so far the 611HP and 1250kg restrictions have made some tight racing enough to make my hands hurt!

I still keep meaning to sign up for this...looks so entertaining. I need to get in gear.

...that is, as long as post #666 here doesn't curse it. :p

Hey thanks for postponing till next weekend! I can't wait to get online again and race with you guys, real fun racing with you all. I should be used to my sons schedule soon and be online in a few days. Can't wait to race again!

Thanks guys for rescheduling. I was really bummed that I was going to miss it. I really hope next weekend I'll be around. This summer is getting out of hand for me.
Ken, congrats on the kid. Your son won't have a schedule by the way. I'm sure it will be random chaos for a long time. Probably for another 30 years.

Here's your Trans-Am AWWWWWWEEEEE...........

My son Logan and I.

I assure you that it is in fact unscheduled random chaos. I just had my second back in March. Certainly love my kids, but there is no planning around them, especially brand new ones. It takes alot of effort to line up nap time along with race time, and it still rarely works out. As they get a little older (my oldest is 10) a Nintendo in the other room helps!:D Anyways, congrats again!

On a race related note, the modern T/A cars were an absolute blast last night. I am fully confident that th RM Camaro can give all the other cars a run for the money. The only time I felt like I was being outrun was when I was racing Titus in his LM Camaro at the Forest, but I was racing Titus in his LM Camaro at the Forest, and let's be honest, that's no way to judge a car!:banghead:

hey I miss the race last night , how it was

Don't worry Coolracer, we didn't run the scheduled race because most of the regular racers couldn't make it. We ended up testing the cars we are planning on running for season 3, the final race for this season is rescheduled for this coming Sunday. Hope to see you there.

I have CAMikize's cars and need atleast his Group I car in the photo for next Seasons Thread.

I await the return of my cars for the rescheduled races than, Kal. :) And the prospect of a try at a more modern T/A series is a good idea. It'll be a shame to let go of the Group 2 series as I was having a good time with it. I was thinking of going with matching Chargers for next season or a more Lemon/SubLime setup as to my rides in that regard. :)

I agree that it's a shame to let go of the 'street' class, but I honestly don't see the vintage/modern combo series lasting more then a single season, simply because these cars are way too much fun. I really think we will have to branch the car classes off after the initial combo season, forming race/street classes of each, Modern and Vintage. Hopefully we would be running the two series in-between each other (six weeks modern followed by six weeks vintage) or something like that, as that is an awful lot of racing. That's how I'm seeing this anyway, season 3 is kinda introducing us to the 'Modern Trans Am Series'.

Or, Run two Series in Tandem.

Trans Am Race Prep Class and Trans Am Stock Body Class.

Alternate weekends, One weekend Race Preps run their races than the next weekend the stock body runs their races. I.E. Weekend I: Old Trans Am Race Preps First Race than Modern Trans Am run a race. Weekend II: Stock Body Old run a race, than New Stock body run.

I will of course help with scoring if needed as I do not expect Skel to do it alone. I do however wish to start Manufacturer Points in the series as well. With this later on with more people we can develop Teams that work together to achieve victory. I would not mind sorting that out myself.

The biggest problem I have with the Trans Am series is lack of selection for Group I. Always have bothered me. With Group II we were able to have a much wider selection that I enjoy.

In the end, I do not want to let go of The old Trans Am cars at all. Group II is half and half, I can live with it changing and staying the same.

I expect and hope as the Series continues we get more complicated and spread out. Sign of progress. However I do not want to go to overboard as being small has many advantages over large series.

The other idea is to Mix the class in one race. I just do not think we have enough people to do it. I know how to control the pp limit and make it work, and honestly be kinda cool to see some new mixed with old on same track/ race.

These are just random thoughts right now, nothing organized. IF you can understand anything latch onto it and make it better feel free to do so.

Really like the tandem idea. Maybe the mixed race idea would make for a good mid-season deal, like the wild card race. I'd be happy to help out, Kal, just let me know what ya need.

I like the idea of modern T/A series being separate from old. There's so many options we could do, and so many good ideas as well, it will be imposible to implement them all. I like the setup that exist right now. I also wouldn't mind experimenting with season 3 by eliminating street class in place of a modern T/A race car class. And see where that gets us. I would like to see the street cars come back though.

I also had visions of doing a manufacturer's point standing too, and was going to try it this season. But when everyone is running chevrolets, a couple Dodges, and I'm the only Ford, well I wonder how that's going to turn out?

If we keep the street car series, modern or old. We should elminate the use of downforce. Some guys in the 'standard' cars refuse (with good reason) to put a wing on their car (some it isn't an option). And shouldn't be a requirement to be competive with those who are running downforce.

Every once in a great while, something like this rolls into the shop:

Nope, it's actually a '68 with '69 z28 hood and badges, we actually built the 383 stroker you see under the hood.

After test driving it, I would estimate it's about a 500pp with sport softs!:D

Definately agree with the no downforce on street cars. Maybe we can run some practice races at different PP limits to see if we can make the Modern and Vintage G1 cars competitive with each other. It would be really nice if we could make a larger car selection list for G1. I really do hate to leave out our street class, I'm all for the modern G1 cars mostly because I've run out of favorites to chose for G1 vintage. If a mixed era G1 were posable, it would be ideal.

Add: Well, after racing the Modern T/A cars last night, it seems mixing Modern and Vintage in the same race would be pretty difficult unless we used some sort of separate points system, which doesn't seem likely. My '10 Camaro is at least 5 sec faster then the '69 at any track. The Season 2 finale is tomorrow (hopefully), havn't heard alot out of ya Kal, as far as the decided layout for the next season. What is your vision for it?

I didn't mean the Cars would run in same class, just at same time in two classes. Basically doing two races at once. But as I said I don't believe we have enough people to do that properly.

I like the idea of no downforce in GII but be kinda hard to make sure isn't used. And honestly I always have mine set to min anyways. On the other hand, if one chooses not to use Downforce that is Their choice in the end and have more PP points to use towards HP anyways so it still evens out in a way.

I vote that we do a Large selection of tracks next season with the World Tour, and the first had we use the Vintage/Modern Setup. On the second Half (after wild card event) we use the Vintage/Stock Setup. Give it a good trail basis but still keep the stock cars on.

Tonight is the Finale Race. We postponed it last weekend but I do not foresee us doing it again. Whoever shows up, shows up and doesn't, doesn't. Short of a catastrophe of course.

I will have lounge open around 6:30 to 7 PM EST for 30 minute Practice and then 15 minutes for Qualifying. Races should start with GII at or around 8:15PM EST.

See you guys there.

Half season modern setup sounds good to me. Gives us a chance to really trial the Modern and we don't loose our incredibly fun G2 cars. I wouldn't mind doing something with oval tracks or dirt tracks for the wild card weekend, or just stick with the same format we did last, it seemed pretty fun.

I'm working on a new prize format for season 3, I think we will be awarding actual newly purchased premium cars. That will make it easier to award value to the higher place wins. I did like the 'ticket' prizes for the wild card races, so we'll prolly stick with that.

Simple. If you see a wing on someone's car, have them lose it. No downforce = no wing.

I'll be here fo the finale. Have had none prep time though.
