So, not long after i posted that ^ i lost internet connection and had to start again. D'oh. Fortunately i got it in the end and had a little play before getting some shut eye:
- Judging from the demo, this is the best Hitman yet. Lots of new features, better graphics, cool level design etc.
- It looks great with nice smooth objects and atmospheric lighting. 47 himself looks a bit weird though in game.
- They seem to have made better use of the cutscenes, they draw you into the story more.
- The controls aren't as easy to use as Contracts so i'm going to have to do some remapping. To access the inventory you have to hold the RMB and scroll the wheel now rather than just clicking on RMB. To holster and unholster your current weapon you just click on the RMB rather than Q like before. It's all a bit different. They've added new features like using people as hostages/body shields but i wasn't able to do it first time, so either i was just being rubbish (probably) or the controls are a bit iffy (hopefully not). But they've put two different buttons for "pick up" and "action" so you won't accidently open a door to a room full of machinegun-toting loonies when you really wanted to just pick up a pistol. Which is nice.
- 1st person mode. I loved FPM in Contracts, it really gave the game another level. There was a downside though, it looked rubbish. The guns looked really blocky and 47's arms were weird. I really hoped they would make this better in BM, and whilst it sure looks different, it still looks rubbish. I suppose it's just as fun to play in FPM now than it was in Contracts.
Overal, this is a buyer and once i've sorted out the controls i'm sure it'll be perfect 👍
