Yeah if i get caught on a level i just think 'ah screw it!' and kill everybody. Then i start over and try to learn from my mistake. I try not to use guns at all most of the time, i prefer shoving people or strangling them. I like to make their deaths look like accidents

There are just so many oppurtunities to push people off ledges or over balconies! Even if it's just a civilian, i like to shove them off anyway :D

Just curious before I buy.

Are the missions open ended like previous Hitmans? Where say you go to a hotel and you can walk around, interact with people and figure out how you are going to pull it off? Or is it like the Demo training mission where there is only one way through? (pretty much follow a set path)

I love it how you can disarm a guy and use his gun against him in blood money. :)

It's just as open as previous Hitman games. The hotel level you speak of is my favourite of all Hitman titles and i'm glad to say that many of the levels in BM rival it :)

Awesome, the Hotel mission is my favorite aswell.

Yes it is a very open game like the others, it took me ages to fugure out some of the levels. I've just completed the mississipi level, that was really cool.

Well I played the demo on my 2,6GHz P4 with a Radeon 9800Pro with 1,5GB Ram. Saw a video and it looked amazing.

Anyway has someone a system which is nearly the same to mine and can tell me if Hitman 4 runs ok on their comp? Dunno if they changed something for the buy version.

Want this game and it only costs 28,99€. Would appreciate some help.

Is it normal that I can't enter the boat atz the peer? Can
t enter it. Changed my suit and I can't finish this goddamn level. Need help.

I assume you mean the demo? You don't escape with the boat, you go through the door that says exit which is next to those gangsters you crush with lighting rig at the end of the level.

I just got it yesterday. I've only played Hitman 2 before, and I wasn't that fond of it (mostly because I sucked at it and playing stealth games on PS2 sucks). But this is awesome!

I think my hardware is starting to show it's age though. Doesn't run ideally on my Athlon64 3500+ and Radeon X850XT. I had to kill all the nice post-processing effects. :(

Thanks. Will play it again.

I got it to work. Well.. better anyways. (10-15fps)

I had to turn off Fast Write in my bios in order to turn it on in the ATi Catalyst Control Center. The other benefit of FW being turned off in the bios, is I can now run my card at 8x vs. the 2x it was stuck on. :ouch:

Lots of people are having problems, you need to download the the official 1.1 patch. I had this problem on my X850xt, could run on the lowest settings, now i run it all on high :)

40-50 fps? You running Fraps to check that?

With some of the really busy areas i'm getting 20 fps. With the rest i'm getting anywhere between 30 and 50 depending on how many people are present on screen. 50 fps really is quite quiet though.

Are you really getting those fps' on an average basis? I've always wondered if i've got a problem somewhere with my setup; would be nice to compare.

Yeah, 40-50 is only when there's not much action onscreen. On average I'd say I get around 35-ish. It slumps down to the low 20s when there's heaps of characters onscreen. Mind you, I have disabled the post-processing effects which saves about 10fps or so.

Ah ok, i'm running 4x AA and 16x AF :p I updated the drivers for my graphics card recently to the new betas, but forgot to reinstall Coolbits, so i did so yesterday and got a few more fps back out of my card.

Completed the game yesterday on Normal. The last mission is cool, it's not very often i smile at the coolness of an idea but this is definitely one of those moments :)

Got the M4 upgraded to the max and it's hilariously good. Been going back through the missions now and trying to do them perfectly. It's much easier with body armour and a fully kitted Silverballer!

Meh. A good silent assassin only needs the standard equipment (fiber wire and syringes)! :p I've got the Silent Assassin rating on a few levels now and the only time I've really used the silenced Silverballer was when I got too lazy to sneak up and strangle the target(s), then dispose of the body(ies) before being caught in the act.

Although, kitting out the shotgun and simply blasting my way through the level would be fun too...

I've played this game trough and it was a really nice experience. I played it on normal, and i'm thinking of re-playing it on the extra hard level with 3 saves per mission. Story is great and the ending... wellit was surprizing shall i say without giving any spoilers.

I forgot about the saves the first time i played through the game :p But that was only on Normal difficulty. Have now completed it on Rookie and about 75% on the one up from Normal (Is that Expert?).

The replay value is fantastic as you have so many choices during each mission. I keep finding new things and simple ways to complete tasks.

On "A New Life" go to the vets across the road from the target's house and round the back is the surgery. On a side in the surgery are 12 tranq. darts. You can use these darts in the airgun found in the tree house. Makes for some fun times on that level and if you escape with the airgun, you get to take it on future missions (only 3 darts though :().

Sometimes i have to start a level again because i just can't resist things sometimes. If there's a knife lying there, i just have to pick it up and throw it at someone, I can't help myself.

You're right about the replay value though, it has so much of it. There's loads of ways to complete the levels, it's a lot of fun trying to find new methods. I hardly ever use weapons though, except the silverballer. I have it upgraded to max silenced and with a scope, so i can basically take people out from long range without making a sound.

I think I might replay on Expert. Not being able to see the guards on the map though is annoying. I've Silent Assassin'd all the levels in Normal and collected all the guns (escaping with some of the rifles was fun! [read: challenging]), so there's not much left to do on that difficulty.

One thing I love about the game is rigging accidents. In "A New Life" you can find lighter fluid in the basement of the house the target is in. You can then rig the barbecue and watch his wife go up in flames when she fires it up. :D

Agreed.

When i got the game my mum was interested into what it was about. She always wants to know what i'm playing and is genuinely interested; she loves Black and White 2 and Civ 4 and had fun playing on FarCry randomly. Anyway, she was concerned about Hitman BM because she was sure it would force me to think like a killer. Now i get her point, but not once have i looked at a knife in real life and thought that it'd look really nice sticking out the side of someones head. However the thought crosses my mind everytime i see a knife in BM. I sometimes keep hold of the knife until i can find the perfect kill with it, but usually just throw it at the nearest NPC. Shame you can't retrieve knives once they've stuck into people.

If you hold onto a knife and then escape the mission with it, can you add it to kit and the next mission weapon selection screen? I've never held onto a knife that long :p

Again, agreed. And again it's a shame that this is the case. Once the SMG is fully upgraded, it's very fast shooting and quite powerful, so i have taken it on many missions. Upgrading the shotgun and M4 is only accepting that you want to slaughter as many people as possible. So naturally i have both fully laden, but you can only have so much fun going besserk. It is nice to see the game really is more fun played properly.

I've been trying more and more lately to fit the snifle into missions but there aren't a huge number of opportunities to use it.

I don't think i've ever used a shotgun except in the training level, it's a shame there's all those great weapons but it makes me feel bad if i use them. I always want to get the prefect hit without creating chaos :D

I have been waiting so long now to play it.

It has come out in Australia on PS2, Xbox and Xbox 360 but the PC version is still being delayed.... It was supposed to come out today but still has arrived :(

Should have it soon though.

It's worth the wait, don't worry. PC version is definitley the best because the controls are much better, plus it looks almost as good as the 360 version on max settings.

Those of you who have got the game, what are your favourite levels? I would have to say mine is 'curtains down'. I like it because there's lots of cool stuff you can do, and plenty of oppurtunities for 'accidents' :D
