Holden Commodore

Lumina SS

See a resemblence(SP?)?

Bah! Images wont work... I'll deal with it later. :grumpy:

That's a Chevrolet Lumina SS SEDAN. There is a Chevrolet Lumina SS COUPE, which is a Monaro rebadge.

what Radicool02 is trying to say is.... the Lumina SS sedan is a rebadged Holden Commodore SS....and the Lumina SS COUPE is a rebadged Holden MONARO CV8
theres even a Monaro CV6 as the Lumina S coupe
there are other Holden models too

Commodore Executive = Lumina LS
Commodore Acclaim = Lumina LTZ
Commodore SV6 = Lumina S
Commodore SS = Lumina SS
Commodore Monaro CV6 = Lumina S coupe
Commodore Monaro CV8 = Lumina SS coupe
Statesman = Caprice - LS
- LTZ
- SS

He was quite clear:

The Lumina SS is NOT based off the Monaro, it IS based off of the Holden Commodore

There are two Lumina SSs, so he's wrong to say it is not based off the Monaro.

the Lumina SS SEDAN is not based on monaro...
when he said "Lumina SS" he prolly ment seden...which is as he said based on a commodore

when it was first released in the middle east like 4 years ago... sedan was called "Lumina SS" only.. the Lumina SS "coupe" was only released last year

the SS and the SS coupe are pretty different ,including its chassis.. and also price alot differently

I never said anything about the Lumina SS Sedan and its relation to the Monaro.

The Monaro is rebadged as the Lumina SS in the Middle East. Period.

Yes, but I was talking about the sedan version. I never new there was a coupe version.;)

Well all this waiting was going to kill me so I pre-ordered the Chinese version today, I should be driving a hothouse green (I hope the colour was still around on the series 2??) SS Commodore around Nurburgring very early in January :D

while i'm not a v8 person.. i'm happy to see our aussie cars in there... yet i see no mention of holden on the japanese GT4 site nor is there any mention of aussie ford cars there either... theyve got some american fords tho

theres not even a mention of a monaro rebadged as the pontiac gto either...

where are you guys finding the aussie cars??

~~ not that it matters, i will find out for myself tuesday night ~~

People, just because the American version doesn't have Holden and Ford mentioned doesn't mean that they won't be in. The worst-case scenario would have to be that (this will p*ss off some folks if it happened) non-American versions of GT4 get Australian cars and an even worse case scenario- Bathurst.

I'm not usually the optimist, but I say be optomistic. Remebmer, the game doesn't come out in America until maybe a few more months. These few months feel like forever, I know. But at least it's better than saying it will come out in 2006 or 2008. So keep up hope, alright? 👍

X08, Those cars metioned before the 4 of them? are in GT4, they are in the finished or near finished version at the hong kong show and were confirmed as in allready before that by Holden and Ford : ), have faith.

Now I have something special for you Holden fans, some pictures and a movie of us driving to the shop for some beer just now : )

Anybody seen the Official US GT4 site lately... Still no mention of Holdens... Any ideas?

Don't bother with that site in the Car List section for a long time. It took forever for N.A. GT3 site do get the cars right.

The N.A. GT4 site has too many typos and cars in the wrong section. 👎

I really hope that they don't switch the cars around in the US version.. like with NFSU2 (tho it was only like 2 or 3 cars).. how gay would that be... with supposedly around 700 cars, why would u need to swap cars around??

would be awesome if bathurst was in there... i love whipping around bathurst in an r34 with toca2~

This is a stock VY Commodore S pack, in Hothouse green

This is a Falcon AU XR8 (the road car that the Falcon Supercar is based on)
The guy looked like he was going to beat me up for taking the picture :p

Monaro.jpg

That Red VX SS in the picture before, well that was a 6 speed manual but right beside it facing it was an identical Red VX SS but an Auto, so I was about to take a picture of both of them when I heard a V8 behind me, and I turned around just in time to catch this Monaro getting around the corner, there was also a nice blue Falcon XR8 up the road a bit but I missed that :d

What a beauty. What's the price for trying to import one of those into Texas?

No idea, but you can get them here fairly cheap... That version had a fairly well worked Holden 308 cu in V8, but the new ones (SS's) have the Chev LS1 5.7 Ltr (350 cu in) units. Prolly get one of the older ones for sub 20k Oz paesos.

The Red SS with the 6 speed was 30,000 AUD but it was practially new, hardly done any miles, I think normally they are cheaper than that. Whats that 25 grand US? plus your shipping plus converting to left hand drive using GTO parts, it would cost heaps : ) probably cheaper to buy a new GTO?

http://jason.holo-tech.com/cars/Commodore_VS_304_manual.zip

(Sorry the original filename upload was corrupt, this one should be ok)

This file wont be here for long, depending on how much bandwith it burns, but its just a movie of us on the way to get the beer and take the above pictures an hour ago. The old Holden powered VS Commdore isn't as fast as the newer Chev powered ones in the pictures but we were just cruising in the movie down the street to just about 100 mph (if you are the cops then we were only going half that speed;) ), the digital cam doesn't record sound very good so you can't really hear the air induction and gearbox like in real life but you might hear something if you put it real loud

The VS 304 V8 Commodore from the movie : ) (That's a 96-97 model Commodore)

This one is almost stock standard, it came from the factory with the FE2 police suspension and a 5 speed manual, top speed is around 230-240 km/h

The mid 80's onwards Holden V8's are 304's not 308. (VT SS 5.0 = 195Kw's)

Yeah, my mate sold his VT series II SS LS1 auto with 90,000 km's for $18,000.
