With my current setup and very limited experience on the course, my best time is 4:25.5xx. The tires are wearing out at the rate of 10% per lap, meaning the tires are half gone at the end of the fifth lap.

Seconds can come off my time I'm sure. What kind of time is everyone else getting? What about the tire wear? Is mine unusually high?

Tire wear sounds about right.

But you might be able to help it a bit by seeing if you can stand to run a gentler toe setting.

4:25 is a good lap, and you can definitely shave off a couple seconds from there. once the actual race starts though i think the slipstreams will determine who gets the good lap times. for me, tire wear will force me to pit twice in this race.

its easy to get the braking points down on the long stretches going at top speed solo, but i am going to have to pratice with some traffic to see how the car behaves at higher speeds going into the chicanes and other sections of the track.

Whats the top speed set up for everyone? In KMH please.

I'll get you guys added tomorrow. I should go to bed now.

A two-stopper seems like it will be hard, but possible.

Just ran a test for a few laps just to see what you guys will be dealing with. I was in the 4:28's on average and ran about 7 laps where the tires ended up at about 1/3. Those that are thinking two stops are more than likely going to have to make more than that. I wasn't really pushing it all that much and was trying to save tires to check pit strategy.

This race is going to be more about pit strategy and tire conservation than outright speed.

Edit: I was informed that I'll have enough time to do this race on Saturday, so count me in. :)

Running tests now. My lap times are around 4:26:xxx and my tires aren't wearing out that much, so I might be able to pull off a one stop race.

Hmm. I don't know how to tune the toe but I'll read up on it a bit and see what I can do

Two stops is what I'm shooting for.

Since all my practice time is solo I never know how to adjust my brake points for drafting. I usually start breaking very lightly way before my normal brake point. Even if I end up braking a little too much that lost time is easily made up drafting on the next straight. I wouldn't mind a bit of practice with other cars to practice draft braking and setting up my gear ratios though.

Define "that much". Running around 26 seconds my tires were half gone after five laps. In eight laps my tires would probably be obliterated and my lap times would be through the roof. If you can go ten laps - twice in a row - around this course on one set of tires while still pulling times in the ballpark of 26 seconds I will be greatly impressed.

Off the gas earlier. Later on the brakes. Good for fuel saving also. Not that that matters.

My tires are only losing about 5% per lap.

Yeah, no way in hell you can run that entire race on one stop....

Keep in mind a few things when making practice rooms:

-If you want to practice in the draft, the only way to do it is to start a race, as there is no draft in "free run" mode

-Make sure you set the regulations properly. 295 HP, 950 Kilos, Racing Hard tires, and all aids off. Also, kick randoms not using the proper car on sight.

-When you want to practice at night, set the time progression to 15.

Now you tell me.

I didn't run enough laps to see the full picture on tyre wear but like I said I'm hard on tyres so I reckon 6 at push. Nice running with u though!

I was able to get about 7 pushing.

Laps 1-2 I can get a high 4:24 / low 4:25,

Laps 3-6 I can get consistent 4:26's

Lap 7 the tires start to fall off. I donno what times I can get with them.

My suspension set-up seems good, now it's time to play with downforce.

Hey Mule can I qualify tomorrow night? I'll still be at work during Fridays session, then have FMSC qualifying when I get home. Then I'm running FMSC qualifying Saturday morning, so I think Thursday is the only time I'll have. If not no big deal, I can start from the back. :)

I think so.

I'll be home from around 3:30 to 6:30 Eastern tomorrow, so if you're on then, just tell me.

Well that's 12:30 to 3:30 my time, which is when I will be at work. So that isn't going to work for me. I can start at the back, not an issue.

Well, I'll get home again at around 7 your time, so I'm sure we can find something.

I should be home around that time, so that will work.

Hey Mule, just a heads up. You should lay out the qualifying procedure you're gonna go with @ La Sarthe so we can get everyone (especially the new guys) on the same page and fully understanding.

Yeah, been thinking about that, and in my opinion, what'll be easiest for everyone will to do what we've been doing before, yet just have the 1 flying lap.

So instead of a 4-lap race, we have a 3-lap race.

Now that will still take 12 minutes, so I'll bump Saturday quali to 2:30 Eastern.

EDIT: Expect a post defining track boundaries soon

You better hope PSN is back up by then.

"The original" lolol. Mule its not a big deal. So what if someone opens an integra RM championship. I think what you did was rude to the other members of GTplanet(Going into that championship forum and attacking the host) In addition some other people in this forum supported it(thats unacceptable). Unfortunately we cannot control what other people do. Luckily for us we have a good thing going in this series so who cares about what they do.

We are drivers. We driis psn still off

Well, for starts, I added the "original" tag well over a week ago, so you're kinda late with that. I already admitted that I overreacted slightly with that, but I still feel like I deserved to let them know that there was already another series being run with the exact same cars. Notice that I haven't gone to that thread since then. And I think I can speak for the ones who "supported" me when I say that all they basically did was poke fun at how the guy who's runni9ng is allowing all driver aids, though I may be wrong.

I got to start practicing, i haven't touch the GT this whole, hopefully from what I hear PSN won't act up on me. And hopefully I don't work on Saturday since I start my new tomorrow let see. How is everyone?
