What in the gods name is this monstrosity?

Autoblog
Officially Official: This is your 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour

Honda has released two highly brushed up photos of the Accord Crosstour, and we can finally see its snout in full view. As the test car spy shots have migrated from altered Accord wagon to final Crosstour, the car has gotten ever funkier. This picture, though, is the funkiest of all.

We have a feeling it is down to the excess effects, but the Crosstour looks a tad bit ungainly. It's almost as if the front and rear of the car are in a different scale – the grille and front wheel look exceedingly large compared to the tail. Since we've already seen the car in the flesh, except for its nose, we're pretty sure it'll be another mellow piece of Honda kit when it's revealed in 35 days.

It just looks so awkward and mishmashed together, like it's trying to incorporate all these different design cues. The front actually reminds me of the new Ford Taurus.

I feel like prying the Honda badges off my car with each new design they come out with this year...

Yeah. This makes the Venza look a lot better. A LOT.

I like the idea, but then I just end up wondering why they're so opposed to just giving us an Accord Wagon.

It's marketing, people won't buy wagons in the US but they will buy crossovers. Honda's only doing it to sell cars and sadly people will buy this mess of an automobile.

Seriously, I never thought I'd say this...

The Toyota Venza looks better than this hideous Honda.

Honda does not exist after 2008 for me.

How long has it been since anyone had a a wagon on the market at all?

Exactly.

Well I have to admit, it wouldn't be my first pick but it isn't that bad looking. I wouldn't go out and buy it but I have to admit it looks alright. Atleast it isn't a box. The front though could be better I'll say that.

In the pic posted, it does look pretty ridiculous. But I'm definitely reserving my judgement until I see one in person. Looks very tricky. I don't see it being a home run either though.

BMW, Audi, VW, Mazda, Dodge, Mercedes, Subaru..

How long has it been since you've seen many on the road? Noone buys them because, if someone feels they need to haul more than twelve eggs, they buy either a van, SUV, or crossover. There is a severe shortage of both taste and sense here, but not of new wagons.

-> Another proof of Honda's ignorance after Acura's arrogance. :indiff:

~> STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!!!!

:banghead: :grumpy: :yuck: :ouch:  :banghead: 🤬 :boggled: :(

Wow thats ugly, the original EU Accord estate which is quite old now even looks way better than this!

And for some odd reason they have stuck a Panamera rear on it! :ouch:

Robin.

The whole automotive industry is pretty disappointing with their styling.

Sad that this is still my favorite Accord wagon. Then again, I still consider that generation the best looking sedan, too(did they have coupe?).

Amen. Especially the Japanese, but yeah, I don't see much excitement out there. 1990's, I wanted this, I wanted that. Now, meh.

I couldn't remember. :D

Why can't ours look like these two:

Figures!

Edit: The second one does look like it might pop up in the States with a "A" on the front, instead of the "H"?

Lol wow. I don't even know where to begin...

But yeah, outside of my friends at home, very few people like wagons. I announced that I wanted to buy a hotrod wagon to my friends here and they all looked at me like I was retarded or something.

What could possibly be cooler than a car that can go hella fast while hauling hella stuff?

Hey wait a minute...what's the deal with the silver one? I forget what that car was all about. This thing and the Crosstour test mules were both running around at the same time, but it seems both of them serve pretty much the same purpose. Why would they design a tall Accord wagon like the silver one pictured but give us the Crosstour instead? Why would they do both at the same time? What's going on here?

EDIT: I see what it is. The silver one is a mule for the Crosstour. They just used the wagon body and put an accord front end on it to fool everyone. There's a body section that's been extended right behind the rear door, and the body is probably riding high on the longer Crosstour frame. Huh. Too bad their test mule looks better than the real thing!

OK, that does make sense. Telling by the shape of the side windows, silver one must be the mule for the blue one.
