How do i become a Moderator?

I personally choose users who are long-term members of the community, and who I feel understand my rules and the reasoning behind them.

Basically, if you ask to become a moderator, then you've lost all hope of actually becoming one.

I dont want to be one, it seems that they get cursed at alot.

Not really. While people do seem to want to salt the earth on which we walk, there's a theory called the 80-20 rule. Basically, about 20% of the people in a group will be the ones to take up 80% of your time, and it rings true. I've seen it at work both on the forums and in the classroom. So while we do get hassled by 20% of the forum community, it's no bit deal. We have ways of handling it.

A user's rank is only affected by the number of posts made.
