orubasarotI still can't find any good info on unrealistic tuning upgrades. I wish someone would make a list of what they would consider to be unrealistic. For example if it was the case with Original Suspension, listing a reason or two would be nice. Also the whole racing chip thing, does that even apply to a 1980s car like the AE86?
Wolfe2x7...
As for upgrades that I think are unrealistic, the extent to which you can mod your drivetrain is a little excessive, the price of the weight reduction options is RIDICULOUS, especially stage 3, and it's odd that the dealers don't have access to as good of oil as you do.....
SavageEvilHey what's wrong with the extent of drive train upgrades? Nothing is wrong with that, considering that peak power to road performance is gained through drivetrains.
SavageEvilNow what is true is the exhorbitant price of weight reduction, it'd say in real life it would cost about 17,000 altogether.
SavageEvilRealism, i find myself releasing the throttle when im shifting, eventhough this game has the fastest clutch i've ever seen, next games needs to add clutching and or force you to release the throttle to shift.
SavageEvilWhich is why GT should include a Dynamometer, and full control of the EMS, boost levels and outputs. As GT is right now it's pretty much easy to navigate with everything labelled for the unintuitive. Gotta remember that this still a game and it must be accessible to the general public. Hopefully GT5 will allow futher and deeper customization into engine tweaking, suspension tweaking, body dynamics, tire compound selection/pressures. Hopefully tracks actually have differentiating temperatures, and realistic wind interaction(which will be a god send, if there is realistic damage, this will prove a lot).
Sony Press TeamWe're awaiting the release of an add-on for the PS3 called Real Collision Simulator. It's shaped like a big spike, with a compressed air unit behind it pointing at the player's head . This means that every time the player (he or she) have a crash the spike will shoot at them with a speed comparable to the in-game collision impact. The unit comes with it's own PSU and the spike comes in different colours. Sony HQ is currently looking into the legal issues of such a product and should have it launched in Q4 2006. We're not sure what the retail price will be but we will release more details soon.
Cobra_UKHey, it sounds like this could make GT5 much more realistic, I can't wait.![]()
Wolfe2x7Whenever I change my 318i's oil, I do the entire procedure from underneath the car, and I make "blub-blub-blub-blub-blub-blub-blub-blub-blub-blub-blub-blub-blub" noises whenever I empty and refill the oil.
Oh wait, I thought we were talking about adding GT4 to real life...![]()
Kay-tekI thought I was weird for selling my cars after a bad crash. Turns out several people do the same thing.
Other measures I take:
*N1 for crappy little cars and old cars
*N2 for everything between a golfVgti and a BMWM5
*N3 for tuner cars ( I only have one car that I tuned, the rest is completely stock) or supercars like the Saleen S7 or a Mercedes SLR
For racing cars, I only use the super hard slicks. I think the other ones provide way too much grip. I dunno, they just don't feel right.
I turn off the aids for all of my cars and I use a homebuilt cockpit (with bucket seat from the local ricer shop![]()
) for my DFP.
Something else I do is never pausing the game when driving. In real life there is no pause button (would be cool though), so I don't use it during a race.
That's about all I can think of at the moment.
Leonidaeyou must be one tired kid after enduros..![]()
L.O.LWolfe2x7Wow, that would go perfect with the Real Fire Simulator. If your in-game car lights on fire, a Sony representative appears at your home and proceeds to light your house on fire.
They're still trying to work out some bugs with that one though....apparently Sony reps will occasionally light your house on fire for no reason whatsoever, or light all of the houses in your neighborhood on fire.
At this point, Sony HQ is investigating the incidents, and trying to find the person who decided to hire convicted arsonists...
