Hi,

I was wondering, how do you import songs from a iPod Touch to GT5? iPod in question is a third generation.

I've searched on Google and I got some pretty dogey answers.

Thanks,

SVX.

3rd gen ipod touches dont show up in the xmb, so the only way to get songs onto your ps3 is by using a computer

Synchronize your iPod with the PS3 by plugging that white cord that comes with your iPod and put it into your PS3 and do the following:

Go to the folder called music and click on the symbol saying "USB device" (your iPod) Press triangle on it and go to display all, then go to iPod control and scroll down highlight whatever the name of your files are when you copied them on your iPod, there should be a folder called "Music" click that and there should be more folders. Go inside those folders and there should be your music cut up inside several different folders. Hit triangle on a song copy it, and it will show up and will be playable on your PS3's main menu.

Thats what I did I think!!! Anyway it gave most of the music a 4 character code and I've no idea what track is what without playing it

im pretty sure ipod touches dont work with ps3s. the tracks come up as 4 letter codes because that is how itunes stores them on you ipod, it is a much better idea to transfer your music onto your ps3 or a usb drive

They don't. Apparently it's due to the way it stores stuff - it's not a regular HDD or something of that sort.

Sucks because all my music is from iTunes, so I have to find some sort of converter otherwise GT5 won't accept it. Pain in the 🤬 just to race with some decent songs :ouch:.

Thanks for all of the replies everyone.

Will try this later on, thank you.

ok this worked to get the music on the ps3 , ok now how do i get it to play in gt5 ?

It has to be in .MP3 format. Apple (being odd idiots they are) use .M4P (or .AAC).

Annoying, isn't it? :banghead:

Step 1: Copy your iTunes music to a normal USB flash drive

Step 2: Plug the flash drive in to the PS3 and copy all your music over

The weird thing about this is that most of your iTunes bought music will copy over and work fine, but some of the files will corrupt themselves. You'll just have to sort through everything once its copied over. Good luck!

If you have a Mac, then try senuti(iTunes spelled backwards); it's an application that takes your iPod and copies songs from it. The one shown only does 1000 songs since it's a trial, but surely you have less than that?

Once you get your songs off of your iPod, then you can copy them to a USB, then copy to PS3 the regular way:tup:

Main Menu>Options (Far right?)> Audio settings(on same row as "TV" settings)> select "Custom BGM/Race Music" (a prompt will show, then you can load your songs from there)>select "Enable Custom BGM/Race Music"

If some of the files corrupt, are they gone for ever, or just from your USB?

Great idea, but sadly I don't have a Mac.

Well since the PS3 files are separate from the USB files which are separate from the itunes files, only the PS3 ones get corrupted, which doesn't matter since you can delete them and still have the itunes files perfectly safe.

Ah, okay, thanks. 👍

Use Nero media server or PS3MS they will copy the meta data Across and keep
M4A text tagging data unlike WMP when transferring files to PS3 HDD.

GT5 Plays M4A, MP3, WAV. I don't have any WMA2 files because no where I buy music files from uses WMA.

What GT5 wont do is play tracks with low quality sample rates.
Tracks with silly numbers like 32khz will be blocked as GT5 won't upsample it.
