How do you use Speed testing on Route X?

I was so looking forward to a test track, to measure the performance of my cars. And with Route X I thought my wishes would be fulfilled. But no.

Every time is stored, sorting of results is impossible, deletion of results is impossible. ARGH.

How many times have I cleared the result sheets to start fresh? Every time I make a mistake and drive the same car twice, every time I realize I have been testing cars with wrong setup, etc etc.

So I need to set a standard for myself on how I'm going to test my cars.

First I thought that driving everything stock would be best, but then I thought I should change oil first. And then I thought some of the RMs and TCs already have extra stuff fitted. And some cars are not given justice as stock cars because just a tiny piece off fiddling would help so much. And changing transmission helps a lot on many cars even if PP doesnt change.

So any good suggestions?

My current idea is
  • to let TCs and RMs be as they are (probably add the parts that are included but not installed - like the Dodge Challenger SRT8 Touring Car which was supplied with titanium racing exhaust that was not installed)
  • Tune most of the "regular" stock cars slightly, like up to the nearest 50 or 100 PP, so they are relatively similar in class.
  • NASCAR I only need to drive once because they are all the same (and never ever again, ugly boxes with 4 gears).
  • Supercars and LMP has to be "stock" I suppose as some of them become quite mental if you tune them.
  • And never drive F1 or X1 cars, because they are **** and only serves to prop up the top of the lists without being any fun at all.

Anyone else being OCD with their Speed Test results? :dunce:

If only PD let us delete results on the list, this wouldn't be an issue at all!

I only really use it to see what cars I have out-accelerate my Veryron, X2010 etc.
Or for Photos.

Agree it is a bit rubbish that you can't delete single time.
So I just use it for.stock cars . If I buy from ucd then I change oil or rebuild engine. I don't use race cars or lmp. just road cars.
Shame I cannot split time sheets into 2 or 3 categories.
PD style I guess. Simple things seem to be hard for them. Anyway I am not b.ing

My favorites list in GT5 are only fully tuned road cars. So I used route X to record only those 100.

So I lower each car all the way and make down-force the lowest possible.

Then for Max Speed I max out the transmission and for Min I reset to default transmission settings (still with the fully customized transmission installed.

This way seems to be pretty fair.

Haven't touched the Speed Test since a week after it was released.

Much based on that you can't delete a single time. 👎:yuck:

Best thing to do is hit the restart then quit. It doesn't record the speed or acceleration that way

Ok, I don't understand. What's this about not being able to delete times? I'm buying this track as soon as I get a PSN code I just purchased online, but if it's too complicated then it's not worth it. I wanted to use the track to test my cars accelaration and top speed just like I did in GT4.

Am I missing something?

LOL, I just noticed your sig...great stuff.

To the point at hand, the only thing I know of is an option on there that resets all the times ever posted, so I would say you can reset your times that way. As in individually, sadly no.

davelis
i usually pop a speed pill and see if i can still drive

Cool story bro.

I just did the top 100 sports cars in my garage, fully stock. And I added in the X2010 and 11 just to how it would compare. I did make one mistake though and run two X2011 times. One will full downforce and one with none. Hopefully we have the option to delete single times in the future.

Deletion of results is very possible. Clear them in the menu.

Yeah I found that quitting before the start works. But twice I've been a split second too slow and it has recorded Max G of 0.02 for two cars.
