Wow, I was reading this again and I realized I was an a-hole. I have had a rough week and was honestly mad at everyone for anything. I would like to offer an apology to everyone here.
I think it takes a man to step up here and apologize, since it's a lot easier to just do nothing. 👍 You'll find were not a really bad fanboy bunch after all. ;)

We are all waiting for this game anxiously but I still think it will not top of the feeling that Gt4 gave me, that was just amazing
I was awestruck with GT4 when I fired it up, and I still have a sense of awe when I hear that first track on the GT Mode world map. My reaction to Prologue - well, GT HD first, was entirely different. It was kind of like shock. The game had achieved a level of realism that was ridiculous. It wasn't quite Gran Turismo anymore, but some insanely powerful realism simulator. I have no doubt that GT5 itself will give me a similar reaction, especially if Kaz and the lads have loaded up the monster with goodies for us.

Speak for yourself.

But seriously, we get rowdy sometimes, but we usually forgive and forget.

I put forever because I am in no hurry for GT5 to come out. I have way more games than I can even keep up with between the PS2, xbox, PC, and xbox360. So GT5 can come out whenever it wants. When GT5 comes out is also when I will buy the PS3 again. By then hopefully it will have a pretty good lineup of exclusive titles and cheaper blu ray disks. 👍
I expect GT5 to be out possibly mid 2010. Basically add at least 1 year to the first release date they officially announce.

The way software development is these days i wouldn't be surprised if there is only 1 GT released per console generation. Along with one Prologue.....

I think it has to do more with the amount of features the consumers demand(cars, tracks, different game modes as well as general improvements to game play). I think there will be one per console generation but it will probably be because of DLC.

I'm in the group that STILL can't really justify buying a PS3.
For me, not only is it still to costly, but there are not enough games to interest me.
Now, I guess there are enough to keep my kids that game interested.
But, when/if they ever leave home, It'll be me, one game, and no backwards capability.
By the time the PS3 2.0 comes out I may be ready to consider it.
But, I've also kinda lost the desire to play video games.
I've fired up the PS2 maybe 2 times since Christmas.
I think about it every now and again, but when I do someone is on the Wii on the "gaming tv".
And I'm not terribly disappointed.

I have yet to buy a PS3, thus the longer it takes, the cheaper I can get a PS3 for! (that's if the price does go down at all)

You dont know what your missing buy a ps3 and GT5P theres a whole new racing world out there.

I really don't care how long it takes I'll still buy it. In the meantime I'll play other games its really no big deal. It will come out when it comes out.

well, they add new features every game. it's the detail required when modeling each car that takes up time. Add to the fact that they need to render on both RSX & CELL. getting these two chips to work in tandem is difficult. Memory allocation is a real pain this generation on PS3. CELL can only read the GDDR memory at 16mb/s RSX doesn't have EDRAM, and then there's the bloated OS taking far too much memory etc etc.

You can release stuff like NFS or COD every year because there is alot less optimization in their engines. killzone 2 took 4 or 5 years to make. mostly due to their complex engine with differed rendering, SPU optimization etc. PD have the programming hurdles as well as hundreds of cars to model. It takes a month to do one car per person in GT5 vs something like a week on GT4. And GT5 will have graphical improvements over GT5p, the engine wont be finalized until game goes gold.

Wait for what?

Oh, there is a new GT game coming out!? I totally forgot about that...

I would but I'd rather spend that money on my Jeep, since I have that and GT5 isn't out yet.

Dude its not the waiting for Gran Turismo 5.. its waiting in dark with lack of new news and especially any detail about features, damage, etc. If you give good news for all the fans, all the fans can and will wait happily.

Yes, I agree with you. However, I'm going to wait for E3 until I decide how much longer I willingly to wait.
