Hey, are XP Pro and Home Ed. similar? If so, do you know how I can make it so my parents can't find out anything I do while I'm on my computer?:confused: No, I don't surf porn all day and don't want them to find out, it's just that they're really nosey and I don't care for them to know every little place I visit. BTW, I've set myself up as the ONLY Computer Administrator on this computer, everyone else has limited access...

I dont know but Pro has a Log in feature you can use to switch different users... Thats one way...
 
As long as they dont have your pass word to sign in under your name they wont know a thing on what your doing on your time. You can even down load files and they wont know it or wont be able to see it. As long as your under your name.

I've gone to several different sites on my account name, then switched names and looked at internet history, but nothing showed up in the other name under history.


Do you know how to access stored cookies/temporary internet files? I used to know where they were on Win. 95, but XP is a lot different...:P

Also, another question I have. Since I'm the only user setup as an Administrator on this PC, does that mean that Windows XP could only be deleted/re-installed while signed on as my name, or could any user do it? I'm asking because my parents don't like the idea of now knowing where I go, and they really don't like the idea of me being system administrator on this computer, and have talked about re-installing XP and setting me up as a limited access user...:D

Anyone can reinstall xp if they want too. Its all done before the OS is up and running.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is "OS?" And, is there any way I could prevent them from re-installing it? Is there a way to limit their access even more?

OS ... Operating System .... In other words Your Windows XP is what kind of OS your running right now. Before you Had Win 98.. Thats another kind of OS. got is.. Okay well im off. See you around.
