a very nice woman... she was very correct, she didn't try to sell me some thing i don't need... in fact, she told me she knew what the problem was when she saw the PS2...

i guess it's a common problem...

i'm surprised Sony didn't do anything, then.

oh, Later,Dess!

Yeah i know its a common problem. Thats cool that you found some one who could fix it for ya. Did you have to go all around town looking for a place or was it just the very first place you went too?

i went to 2 places... i first got to Wal-Mart, which is where i bought it back then, and service was very poor. I didn't want to wait 2 hours or so to be told they couldn't do anything, so i took it to the local "BlockBuster" kinda place (i don't know how to call those places, think of Block Buster...) that's where i got it fixed. a very friendly lady in her 30s or so...

Oh and how much did you spend on the work??

50$ CND... that's 30$ US or so, i think...

next time it happens, i'll be able to fix it myself, i guess...

 at a Blockbuster's? Hehe my friend asked his Blockbuster where they go to fix there PS2's and thats where he found out where to take his PS2. It was some little family owned video repair shop. But they charged him i think $40 to get it fixed.
