They've been my internet home since July...:p


This is pretty much the only forum online I post at nowadays. I've made less than 200 posts at supraforums, and I've been a member there for over a year...:D I'm not a postwhore everywhere I go...;)
 
well i've been here because the GTF was down... at first i wasn't sure if i was going to stay, considering how long i had been at the GTF...

now, i'm not sure if i'll stay at the GTF anymore... seems i'm not appreciated by other members there...

we'll see, but i like this place a lot more!

my brother's gonna buy his first car! :cool: he asked me to check possiblilities with him, i guess that's what i'll do tomorrow...

Out of the other forums I'm at, the highest I got is about 750 posts.

pretty much anything for under 3000$! he's been saving his money for 3 years now, and he's serious...

he wants something cheap, easy to work on, that has some sort of aftermarket support,etc...

we've looked at the ads, and we've found a few we're gonna check out tomorrow...

i saw a 1991 Civic DX hatch, red, with mags and a bodykit, 750$
(not sure, 750$ is cheap for a 91 looking that clean!)

there were numerous other things, VWs, Escorts, Mazdas...

he's not picky!
 
For under 3 grand? I'm thinking AWD DSM, or maybe a 90-93 Mustang GT, unless he has something against 'stangs...:) I don't like 'em, but I know they have great potential...

4wd DSM are a lot more than 3k over here...

last one i saw was somewhere around 5 or 6k!

Oh, well 1st Generation DSM's, years 90-94 or something like that, are usually 3-6 depending on condition/mileage. But a friend of mine has a 1993 Eagle Talon TSi AWD that's green/tan leather/5speed, and has 30,000+ miles, and he only paid $3600 for it...:eek: It's in perfect condition also.:drool:



Anyways, that red civic looks good, especially for the asking price...:reallyodd Buy that, and put a prelude motor or something in it...:burnout:
 
ooh... i've continued checking the ads, and there are some quite nice things! a Mazda 323GTX! these things are rare as hell! 2200$! :eek:

i think i'm gonna sell that NX of mine!



as for putting a Prelude engine in that Civic, i wouldn't do it for my brother... don't want to see him wrap it around a pole! you're looking at a 200hp/2000lb or so car!

How much is a Prelude engine swap, cost-wise? And, do you know about how fast a Civic HB would be with just a Prelude motor swap?
 
well you'd need a used Prelude engine, Honda doesn't sell complete engines from the dealers and factory, so i'm guessing 2500-3000$ just for the engine/tranny (it's 5K in Canadian $$)...


as for the times, i'd say it will do low to mid 14s, depending on the chassis (an EF is lighter than an EG and a EK) and the driver!


but you can get an Mustang asskicker for less than an ITR, so it's a real bargain!

I think it'd be awesome to have a little Civic HB with a turbo'd Prelude engine in it...:drool: I'd pick on all of the "muscle" cars...😈 Plus it'd be awesome cause it would be fast as hell...:p
 
imagine putting that in a 4 door! 😈 well, it's been done...

a friend of mine is doing close to the same thing... he got himself a 1988 Integra sedan, he's gonna drop a B20Z/GS-R frankenstein in it pretty soon... should run mid to high 14s out of the box!
 
damn! i'm watching Jay Leno at the moment, and Ozzy Osborne is either drunk or high, but he makes no sense! :lol:

That Civic sedan you posted pics of was awesome...:drool: I'd love to have a car that fast!:D Also, if I had a Civic that fast, I'd more than likely make it look as "ricey" as possible. No, I don't like the look, in fact I hate it, but it'd make people think you're slower than you really are...;) Oh, how I'd love to have people laugh and make fun of my car, only to have it utterly humiliate and destroy them seconds later...😈


That 88 Tegra's gonna be sweet. Nobody'd expect to run into a fast, old, Integra Sedan...:)
