Here'a new one for ya:

I spent $NZ99 (that's New Zealand dollars).

It's normally $NZ119 in the shops, but I got it on sale.

There you go, you can add that to your statisitics..

I'm going to buy a DFP soon, they're $NZ350.00, so that I can mod it with a new wheel etc. like a couple of other people have - but 'cos I ain't bought it yet I don't know if this is relavent... :)

$100 - PS2 used (bought it just for this game 30 years ago... well, a year and a half ago)
$110 - DFP from newegg.com (newegg rocks for people that didn't already know)
$50 - GT4 Disc
$0 - wood that was lying around. But i might by logitech's lap attachment
$0 - TV HAHA like i'd buy a TV just for GT4
300+ hours of gameplay * $8/hour minimum wage = $2,400.... ouch...

ps2 and Gt4 and memory card= 33,000 yen
DFP (used) = 17,000 yen
Desk for DFP = 7,000 yen
LCD flatpanel 14" TV = 38,000 yen

total 95,000 yen Holy crap! I spent that much?!

My old ps2 wouldnt play GT4 dont know why sat at the browser screen so;

Slimine PS2: £104.99
GT4: £34.99
New DS2: £19.99 - (old one worn away with GT3)
=£159.97

Joecool593
Game - $49
Wheel - $139
Having no life - Priceless

There are some things money can't buy. But I'd rather play GT4.

Very well said!!!!

For the thread:

£35 for the game, £can't remember for Prologue. Had DF wheel, had wooden plank to attach it to, had two cardboard boxes to balance plank on (DF wheels for PC and PS2 provided them), had fold up foam bed / couch thingy to sit on, had TV. So only paid for game BUT...

need DFP wheel, and will then need something more solid to bolt it to, and need USB Flash memory since my 8mb card is getting full of pics of me crashing.

Man, you guys get the game cheap!

Here's my "budget":
The game: $110
DFP: $220
Racemaker (mounted frame): $314
Memory card (had to buy a new one for GT): $47
Total: $691

Good luck with your project! :)

why is the game so expensive? i thought £35 was bad

I live in Norway, and the price for PS2 games around release time is 699 Kroner, which equals to $110.

It definitely stinks :(

so wats that? about £60 or something

:scared: :grumpy: you are right barryl85, exactly 60 quid at the moment.

@Berrern: The price you pay are a complete ripp off... I dont know if you have some of your ''funny'' taxes on games as well ( like you have on alcohol....) which makes it sooo expensive...
Why not order it over the net and pay the extra postage? I feel for you man! :ouch:

We pay here $50 (GBP 28 ish) for a game, which is a bit cheaper compared to the prices you pay in a lot of the other European countries (e.g chf 80 = $ 63; 49 Euro=$60 ish) :yuck:

i even think £35 wat we pay for titles on release is far too expensive also! or maybe im just a scrooge!

@ barryl85: Slightly off topic: Before moving to the US, I lived for 5 years in the UK (London)...I think the people in the UK are having it really badly in many aspects...I paid some horrendous prices there for all kind of good: cars are an average 20-25 %more expensive (i know some models up to 45%..), prices for gasoline are the highest in Europe (this despite UK produces oil...), a pint of engine oil costs (wholesale!!!) 3 times more than here in the US at Walmart...and I dont even wanna talk about TV's and other electronic goods...better stop..so I feel with the Brits, trust me..!

i agree, london is probably the most expensive place in britain tho, i think down in London they are paying around 95p-£1.00 for a litre of petrol whereas i stay just outside glasgow and i pay around 82p-86p per litre, i dont know much about prices in the U.S. i know that britts pay alot more for almost everything here! when the birth of the new consoles have came, in the U.S. the price will be around $400 equivalent to £230 or so, but when its releasedin the uk our price will be around £300 - £350, shocking!!! but true! then the new games will be £45 its always the same!

Welcome to the Norwegian tax system mate!
A 0.33litre bottle of beer costs about 1 British Pound here :(
Oh, and you'll find Europes highest petrol prices in Norway, with Britain on the second place.

Ordering via the web is definitely a good idea, and I try to always do it. But when it comes to huge releases like GT4, I go to the store on the release day - as I don't trust the mail and don't want to wait an extra day or two! ;)

$50 for game
$0 for strategy guide that was not available
$149 GT force pro wheel

purchased previously for videogames:
$5000 Sony XBR LCD proj. 60"
$2500 Soney DA7-ES receiver
$3000 Klipsch surround sound, Digital Audio Towers (worth $1500 each bought off truck)

So I guess I am in the 10k club for GT4
and no, I am not joking. Hold on while I brush my shoulders off. :sly:

£0.01p....thanks to trading in 4 cráp games :P

edit: and maybe £20 for a new pad. ive broke two already, altho the black one is getting old now

GT4- 50$
DFP-10$ (I preorder gran turismo from Toys R' Us since october, this would come with a DFP for 10$) The DFP it came wasn't the best but it did have force feedback and its good, at least its a wheel right?

60$
I Think i got the best deal in the whole forum (i think.... )
I got another DFP which is worth 150$ at the store right now. But i didn't pay forit not gonna tell u how i got it -.- No i didn't steel it if that what ur thinkin.

If u were to walk into my room, the first thing u would see is a great big coffee table with nothing on it ( kept clean all the time). You would see the DFP which clamps on to the side of the table of course underneath i got my pedals which are litterally taped to the floor. Right next to the DFP i have the case of GT4...tilted at an angle for show  . Right in front of the table i got my 27" TV hooked up with the surround sound connected to a 12" sub woofer. In my same room i got my comp w/ 17" flat screen and flat panel. With a desktop picture of nurburgring. When my friend or friends come over i set up my other DFP and we play. 2 DFPs on same table.

Sometimes at night when im relaxed...i turn up the surround sound and off the lights and on turn on the flouresent light i got hooked up. If im able to take pictures of this i will post them up here in the web. Day shot and night shot.
