how much steering sensitivity do you use?(DS3 users)

how much steering sensitivity do you normally use? i change mine all the time, depending on which car and track im racing.
 
7... the more sensitive it is the better. Still can't compete with a wheel on that front, but it has helped.
 
I recently bought a HKS controller , makes things alot easier . Ideal if you don't have the room to set up a wheel 👍

I actually vary it per car, depending on how many turns the steering wheel must be turned lock to lock, in about 0.25 increments. If the real-life car takes 3.00 turns lock to lock, I'll put it on zero. If it takes about 2.75 (steering is faster in real-life) I'll put it at +1.

For a full-scale racing car, where steering speed/ratios could actually be changed (like the NASCAR vehicles) I'll change the dual-shock's steering to whatever I feel like changing it to. I'm liking +3 best (NASCAR steering in-game is pretty slow otherwise).
 
0 for normal cars, 2 for F1 & FGT, 4+ for X2010

Looking at this thread suggests maybe I ought to try higher settings across the board.

It makes a HUGE difference. Best option PD gaves us so far.

This. I always use 7 unless the car feels way to sensitive with it and in that case I turn it down a few notches.

Minute changes and smooth driving. The increased difficulty has yeilded better consistency. Some tracks are harder than others to be precise, but as with everything it's part of the learning process.

Like tuning, drifting, etc., I may get around to tinkering with it, but I want to make sure I know the default physics and settings intimately before I fiddle with anything.

If I had a wheel or rig, that'd make sense. Since I don't, I focus more on speed and consistency than recreating realism. If I want to experience lock-to-lock steering, I'll drive the real car. Till then, a controller and some free time works just fine for now.
 
I use +6, but I think it's unrealistically fast. No way it would be possible to steer that quickly lock to lock with a proper wheel.

Oh, the first minus. Why?

I look at it like this: divide the range of motion into 10 increments. At sensitivity 0 if you move the controller 1 increment then the car turns 1. At sensitivity 7 if you move the controller 1 increment then the car turns 2. At sensitivity -2 if I move the controller 1 increment then the car turns 0.5.

So at sensitivity -2 I have more controll. True I can't turn the wheel as far, but if it comes to that point then it usually means I've f'd up.

Except the DS3's analog stick has nothing to do with mapping to a wheel ratio when instead it maps to what the game feels is the maximum relevant turn angle (just beyond pushing to understeer). The sensitivity maps to a non-linear algorithm (more or less change at the low angles) and the responsiveness of the in-game steering wheel to steering input. But most of you probably have no idea what I'm talking about.

I have mine at +2 pretty much all the time.
 
How can you drive with +7 ?
I use 0, the stock settings are the best.

That's very subjective.


Everyone should try and do this:

1. Change to sensivity 7
2. Drive with it for 10 minutes
3. Change back
4. Drive with sensivity 0
5. Find out how much better the extra sensivity makes your driving :cheers:

faster reactions = better !

U can get your cars back streigt after it almost spins out. (whit sensetivety 0 it was nice try but spinning car result most times :p )
Only for few events that require silky smooth steering i set it lower.
