how to maintain a drift

New Member? Wrx Wagon? AWD? Loss control of rear end?
Are you saying the car is snapping back, sliding more forward than the front, or because you have too much yaw? I personally suffer from too much yaw with AWDs and the car pretty much halts..

when i try to exit my drift i lost control of my rear end. how i do to not loose my rear end
how do you exit drift?

The way I drift my car, drift exit is usually predetermined. When I drift I usually make my car parallel with the next straight. So exiting drift is not a problem since at that time the steering will always zero.

If you use big angle drift, reduce the gas, return the steering slowly, don't do much counter steer or do it very delicately.

You can read drift driving here:

BTW, you can edit your post.

@wrxsportwagon:

Firstly, please use the 'edit' button to add any additional comments to you last post, instead of triple posting like that.

Secondly, there is no 'best' setting, but there are several WRX settings available in the Drift Settings Depot. You should begin by looking there and trying a few of them.

Thirdly, there's a thread called The Dedicated Thread to AWD Drifting in the Drifting FAQ that you should probably have a look at.

Fourthly, NK has a Project STi thread where there are several more WRX settings posted.

Fifthly, there's another thread in the Drifting FAQ about keeping the car under control: How do I fix snap understeer?

Lastly, you really need to search before posting.

These Settings seem reasonable but I will try it out after I finish printing my essay tonight

I know how to stop the spin french dude
Foot dancing at the beginning of the corner
It upsets the cars balance sets you up for the perfect drift
Doesn't slow you down much
but once you are in the drift it is really easy to change the direction of the car
Because after the foot dancing the car basically became really vulnerable
Oh umm
Don't just start tapping the gas and brake like a little kid
You have to make it become something that is in the back of your head
You don't think about it when you do it
It just happens
Learn how to left foot break really well
Thats how the foot dance starts
It is basically a bunch of left foot breaking at the turn in
