How to make a car grip

Cant seem to get the car to go in a straight line though...

Do you mean like accelerate in a straight line or does it want to turn when you get on the gas?
- like if your in a straight line and you get on the gas does it got straight or tend to go to 1 side?

Turning your rear toe up increases stability when in corners and in a straight line. But will increase the amount your car understeers.

Forgot the mention earlier about the toe but :

Front toe:
-The lower it is the more responsive your steering will be and will oversteer more
-The higher it is the more your car will understeer

Rear toe:
-The lower the rear toe the more your car will oversteer
-The higher it is the more stable it will be in a straight line and in corners.

so try raising your rear toe a little. This setting seems to change more drasticily than some other settings so make sure u only put it up by like 1 pt each time. I try not to go above like .18, thats the highest ill usually go. but if your car has a serious problem it can go above that.

if your just spinning than id say you need to feather more or turn on traction control.

:) hope this also helps :)

Just tuned a MX-5 for my B-Spec driver, he's owning the others. :D

Edit: Oh, and DSU, you forgot about balast :)

How can you forget this Mr DSU ????:):).

You're right nerfnerf, do it yourself, this is the best part .... and good drive.👍

In a rare irony, the information given regarding how to tune your car has been compiled in a particular sticky thread. I forget the name but it could be this one. It's too bad nobody told you to go there to read how each and every setting will make your car grip or not.

So i would try to find a point were your happy with your breaks
Break time is my favorite time.
I have me 3-4 smokes and a drink, every day on break.

They can't. They can't be bothered to click a button on a link and read. They must click lots of buttons and wait for replies, and then complain that the reply is suggesting you do it the easy way. For them, not for you. Someone NEEDS to retype entire threads for these Gods that dwell among us.

I would like to apologize to the OP for someone daring suggest he click a link and read exactly what he asked to read. What a son of a bitch.

i don't think ive ever used ballast on any of my cars so i didn't even think of that :)

Only car i think has ballast is my personal 20th anniversary f40 :) but that's just so it feels like a 20th anniversary car and not some tuner f40. :)

Does the DFGT doesnt have a clutch with the pedals though does it?
It's better than analog sticks/buttons now isn't it?

These are your options:
1. Spend about $100-130 on a DFGT and deal without a clutch
2. Spend $250+ on a wheel with a clutch
3. Keep using sticks and buttons

Up to you.

option 4 get a G27

Call logitech directly and ask for a discount. I happened to do just that last year. I explained to them i was ready to buy the wheel but i had just missed their sale for $229.00 and i wanted to receive the sale price instead of the regular $299.00 price. Of course i was met with resistance. i asked to talk to a manager. Long story short, They did not sell me the wheel for $229.00. They offered me a discount coupon for 50% off a new wheel. That's right $150.00 for a G27. It also helped i have had many logitech products registered over the years.

Give them a call and negotiate the best deal you can get. Good luck.

No but you'll find not many people use a clutch and prefer to use the paddles instead of the shifter anyway.

i can see myself not using clutch but im sure ill use shifter...besides Dfgt doesnt have paddles. Looked up the wheel and it looks like u have to buy them separately. -.- Which in the end i guess im ok with because padels are no fun i wouldnt think. I would think there just as bad as hitting x and square to shift.
-The paddel shifters are probably there i just didnt see them. -.-

lol very true. yeah i seen a DFGT new for like $80 so i might have to get that.

Call logitech directly and ask for a discount

as nice as a $150 g27 is its still more than i wanna pay... looks like a dfgt for me

If you're even a semi diehard gt5 fan, you should get a wheel of some kind, the only regret you'll have is that you waited so long to get it. Take out from me, played gt5 regularly since release and been a fan of the entire series but just got a g27 this past December and i should've done it sooner, if you're super cheap get a used dfgt

They work just fine as paddle shifters whether you think they look like them or not. They offer good resistance and are in the right place. Tape on some cardboard cut outs if you want the look.

Mine does, not paddles as such like the G27 but large buttons instead.
But that's not the Driving Force GT. Believe me I have one, and I also think that you probably mean the Driving Force Wireless wheel, which has indeed no pedals.

You see the throttle and brake?

I've never viewed the paddle shifters on my DFGT, I'm realizing for the first time today they llok like buttons.
Feel like paddles though.

I'd take the G27 for $150, but I get this strange feeling if I call Logitech it's not going to happen. Well, that and I'm getting this:

Except the CSR Elite pedals because I can get them with the wheel and save almost $200 over the ridiculously priced clubsport pedals.

so long as the buttons feel like paddle shifters im fine with them.

Sadly if you get a Porsche wheel for gt5 every time you look at it your be in disappointment of knowing there may never be Porsche's in gran turismo. You got to settle for Ruf's

:)

Here you can see the large buttons on the back of the wheel for shifting gear.
