Yeah... My computer surge protector died. ha.
 
It looks like we're going to have thunderstorms here tonight. It was about to happen last night, but it never did. It ruined the chance for us to see any shooting stars. The last thunderstorm here lasted five to six hours. It was an awesome sight.

Thunder clouds are everywhere, man. Go outside and take a look.

How far, and what direction is San Jose from LA? I'm in the Inland Empire. Oh, and it doesn't have to rain for thunderstrorms, but it usually does.

The strangest thing about California is the weather. California has unpredictable weather but fortunately, it does not get hit by tornadoes or hurricanes. But nevertheless, there are earthquakes. And for some strange reason, the earthquakes seemed to have subsided in the last 2 years. I am glad I live in California :cool: :)
 
This sucks it hit right near my grandparents house hard and im supposed to fly into tampa on Monday, this better go away quick
 
lol...San Jose is about 400 miles north of LA, bout a 7 hour drive going 80 on flat and straight I-5. So, we usually get completely different weather...wait, no...it's usually sunny and warm here, sunny and warm there. Unless it's winter. Then it may rain. Maybe. California weather is great (at least here in SJ & the Bay Area). There's the sunny and warm season, then the cold and rainy season. Very predictable. And earthquakes aren't that bad....and we haven't been having any lately :confused:. But at least we don't have hurricanes. Hey ITR, you say something about pics? :)

Yeah, it's true we don't get tornadoes or hurricanes, but we do have "Micro Bursts" which are mini-tornadoes that rip off roofs, and destroy car ports. Plus, the Santa Ana winds can be a pain, but at least they aren't as deadly as the what other areas of our country get.

Hmm...last earthquake I remember was before I moved....but that was back at the turn of the year. I remember it was while we were watching baseball, tho....maybe it was last baseball season. But 3.0 isn't really that much of an earthquake....just a little shake. Quakes need to get up to 4 to actually move stuff....like maybe my desktop speakers....about half an inch.

Yeah my sister experienced a micro-micro-burst. It was shaking a RV side to side violently but didn't knock it over. They got some welts from the sand hitting there face and hands.

I know it was a small quake that's what is weird because when they hit here they hit hard usually.
 
I heard that microbursts can cause airplanes to crash while trying to land or take-off. I have read it from a weather encyclopedia

Not those microbursts that are 'mini-tornadoes', the microbursts that are actually unstable winds.

Yeah, but what else would you call a mini-tornado? Many different things can be classified as a "microburst", but it has to follow one basic rule, "If damaging winds are concentrated in an area extending 2.5 miles or less, it's called a 'microburst.'"

A mini-tornado will fall under this basic rule. They literally are "mini-tornados." They look, and act, like a regular tornado, but they are much, much smaller. They appear out in the Pacific Ocean, too. Then, they are called "Water Spouts." Some call them "Dust Devils" but I think those are the small "dust-tornados" that you used to run through when you saw one as a kid.
 
The house I just sold was victim to a microburst a couple years before I lived there, which is why it had a new roof and fence.

Dust devils are harmless, but they can look pretty mean.

Dust Devils are fun. I was passing a girl only school and saw a girl indian style inside of a dust devil leaves and some dust was around her it was awesome.:dopey:
 
I hope I get to see some crazy weather here in SC. If not I'll be pissed. I love hurricanes. The worst I was in was Hugo. The most recent was Birtha, or some ****.

Anyhoo, it was lightning really bad from around 10pm Thursday night until around 4am Friday morning. It was awesome. The sky was lit up almost nonstop. There were streaks of lightning constantly. I got a small video of it. I used the nightshot feature on my camera, so it looks all green. It sucks, but I'll post it soon if I can.
 
Charlie hit Orlando!? I wonder how Disney is...
I have a mate who is in Florida at teh moment. He usually does a week in Tampa and 2 weeks in Orlando. I wonder how he is doing.

What kind of precautions do places like Disneyland/Universal studios have incase of this kind of weather?

Lightning at night is like fireworks on the fourth of July.
