I Have Damaged 2 Engines.

Regarding engine wear and loss of performance... do you think it works that way on the extremely rare cars? The cars that you can only get once and never again? That would suck if you wore out an engine on a unique car and were stuck with lower hp for the rest of the game.

Unless there's a way to "tune up" the engine to bring it back up to full power?

I agree, I don't like the idea of cars wearing out. I would be hesitant to take cars out just to thrash them around in a practice session.

When I bought both the cars they had over 86.500kms on the speedo
It wasnt because of mileage. ive only put 600kms on it since i bought it

I spent alot of time dragracing and drifting and it took aproximately 100kms or more of abuse
and i mean bouncing it of the rev limiter and over reving in high gears. the engnie seemed to like revving right out.
👍 👍 👍 :dunce:

It isnt blown yet thoough, I have not blown the engine.

Yeah I know its yen and all but its what else you can get for that kinda cash. Like 2 NSX's or 3 GT-R's. Just to freshen up your trueno or GTS-t.

GT Tester, take the memory card out so it wont safe and spend a long time rev limiting it etc to see if it can actually blow. Dont change the oil etc and actually see if it'll blow. Just practice drift all day :)

You may not be able to but if you get the chance with some crappy car let us know.

Cable - That's the way a real car works though. Sucks huh?;)

Does that mean we should be shifting at 3000 RPMs with our first cars?

And i'm also sure this increases the importance of breaking your car in before you race it. That's awesome.

Div is back
What happens when you blow an engine? Can you repair?

No one has yet.

Are you sure KY had that in mind?

both RX7s had over 86.500 on the clock.

I checked it without saving on my good rx7 and it happened again And the damage occured over about 100kms of abusive redline, valvebouncing fun..

So I wont be overrevving for too long anymore,

This is not just a game, it's a simulator Cable. KY is making as realistic to life as possible.

Of course he does have many more things to add in and improve on but he's getting there.

Well IRL you can repair / replace worn bits so it should be fine :)

I reckon this engine wear is a great addition to the game. IT means there are consequences to buying old cars which adds to the realisim. I just hope there are engine blow ups.

You know, if someone can find a 'new engine' option somewhere in the tuning section perhaps, we can then confirm engine blowups without actually blowing up an engine.

It's not an addition, it is an improvement. GT3 had this but you really had to put lots and lots of mileage on the car and i'm not sure revving made it worn but i'm pretty sure it did overtime.

Are you sure KY had that in mind?

It added a few horsepower to break the car in, then change the oil in GT3. Added like 50 horses.

Maybe this time it well help the engine run tougher for longer, just like a car in real life.

I didn't like how your engine wore out in GT3 without being able to be repaired, I mean in real life it's just as easy to rebuild an engine as it is to replace all your worn suspension so I hope they have both options, then again in Japan they don't much rebuild old cars. Just throw them out. Or they put all the old Skylines on a boat and send them to die hard turbo fans in Australia : ), This country is infested with old GT Skylines these days

You are the first person ive ever seen use the words "RX-7" and "Valvebouncing" in the same sentance.

Comedy gold.

where is that ROTFL smilie when you need it? Jordan, this is a must have!

Stop it. He made a mistake now stop spamming.

I must say though this relieved my stress a bit. So far i've been relying on IGN and they says US: February 22, 2005 and I believe them since they have been spot on untill PD pushed back. So 50 days wait. :indiff:

And I reinforce this date because it is accompanied by the real release that Japan had, Dec. 28th. So I believe them at this point.

You say GT Tester that after 100km's with the Rx7's of hard driving and the car lost that much power, Im wondering if you drove softly if it would lose the power anyway? So does it judge by how much you 'thrashed' it, or how many km's you've done? (like GT3)

You know its not that funny

Just a small Automotive based error and everyone jumps on it.
